Every single discussion of the News Nation special is packed with constant crap about bots/shills/disinfo agents. There is even a frontpage thread about how "suspicious" the reactions are.
Every single time someone declines to indulge in the purest and most absolute belief, they are dismissed as a bot, shill or troll. Never is it someone with a different view - not possible.
The mods literally made shill/bot accusations against the rules of the sub, but they are so abundant they would need an legion to actually moderate it.
It is completely and utterly asinine.
There was a massively hyped revelation - "overwhelming evidence" - which, shockingly, turned out to be inconclusive at best. Of course people are disappointed and frustrated.
Of all the times to accuse people of being bots/shills/trolls, this is perhaps the worst. The reason for the reaction is painstakingly obvious. It could not be more black and white.
Yes, bots/shills/trolls exist. Always have, always will.
No, that does not make every person who disagrees with you a bot/shill/troll. You are likely just out of touch and coping.

I have an outdoor outlet that was tapped for an additional outlet (up high for string and Christmas lights). The electrician wired in a normal light switch between the outlets. The existing outlet is not switched, just the secondary one. I would like to replace the existing switch with a smart switch, but the switch does not have a neutral. The original outlet is right next to the switch in a 2 gang box. Can I pigtail from the outlet neutral a neutral for a smart switch?

My wife doesn't feel well so she is sleeping on the sofa. I'm happy because I know she's making herself better, plus she'll also have a clean house and a stew when she wakes up. On top of it we're also due to move into a new house the next month.
Not sure what I've done to deserve being so happy but I won't question it.

So I have to evaporate methanol (64 degree Celsius boiling point) without increasing the temperature over 50 degrees to prevent degrading of other components.
The rotary evaporator and vacuum drier isn't functional and I have tried using magnetic stirrer and water bath but the results aren't satisfactory. Is there any other solvent that could replace methanol and doesn't dissolve plastics ? Is there a way to evaporate the methanol

I started out wondering if I could even do it. Could I learn how to edit? Do I have a personality that will work on YouTube? Am I even good enough? I figured it wouldn't hurt to try. After all, I had learned how to work on cars by watching YouTube videos and I wanted to take what I learned and create content for others like me. I figured I'd give it a shot, and I set a stretch goal to be monetized by the end of 2024. Here I am, a few weeks past due of my original stretch goal, and I couldn't be happier about how it worked out. Here are some "stats for nerds" about me that I feel like people are frequently asking here. Hope it gives you all some encouragement to keep creating. And yes, it does feel as good as you think it will. I have put in a lot of work over the last year (and some change) and it feels REALLY rewarding to finally see a 4-digit sub count.
Time: 1 year and 3 months. I posted my first video on October 28, 2023 and I became monetized on January 18, 2025.
Content: I have posted 44 long form videos and 89 shorts in that time. I have one video that has around 32K views, a couple at 10K views, and a handful between 1K and 10K views...a pretty accurate Pareto distribution. My shorts are a bit of a different story. My best short has 18K views and I have about 30 that have over 5K views. Most of my subscribers have come from my shorts.
Niche: I am in a pretty specific niche. I make car repair videos, but I really fit into an even more specific niche that is a period ('88-'98) of Chevy trucks called OBS (old body style) Chevys. There is a pretty big community of people who love these trucks, and I belong to it. My channel really focuses on my '94 Chevy truck, but I also do videos for other cars as well.
Tools: I use the YT Studio app to monitor my channel progress. I look at the analytics WAY more than I'd like to admit, but I'm a numbers guy and I am motivated by metrics. I use the YT Create app to upload shorts, if you aren't familiar with it I would recommend it. I use Davinci Resolve (free version) to edit my videos. I record using my phone (Google Pixel 7) and I have a telescopic tripod that cost me $20 on Temu. I bought a camera starting out and I've tried a couple microphones, but I don't even use any of those. I have found my phone is good enough.
I started out committing myself to posting a video a week. It was A LOT of work in the first few months while I learned how to edit, but I kept up with my commitment. After I got comfortable editing, I got into a rhythm that I was able to maintain and I was throwing in shorts in between when I could. I think one video a week, for me, has been an aggressive enough commitment that it keeps me challenged and engaged but isn't so aggressive that I risked getting burnt out. I have backed off from the "one video a week" commitment because some of the work I'm doing now is bigger projects, and I have proven to myself that I'm not at risk of slacking off with what I'm doing.
I feel like this is a turning point for my membership in this subreddit. I feel like I'm not really a "NewTuber" anymore. I'll stick around and creep on what people are saying here, but I guess I'm a bona fide YouTuber, guys.
