 | In 2020 I was offered quad rollers Impala Skates, the simple black model. I had been in the shop with the person to pick them up and try them out. I did a little bit of it outside in the summer and then I put them aside because I wasn't very good at it. In September 2024 I started taking classes twice a week indoors and after four months, the heel of the skate came off the boot. I specify that I have never used them in the rain or in extreme temperatures, whether hot or cold. I sent an email to the brand with a photo to ask if this was normal after 4 months of regular use, they told me no. The thing is that other people in my course who have skates from this brand have the same problem, so I think it's a recurring problem that they don't take on. If you've had a similar issues with this brand feel free to share it. My skate teacher advised me to buy Riedell Citizen, which I did and already in 3 courses I see a difference in the support of the ankles and the tongue on the tibia. I'm much more confident when I skate. I haven't tested them outdoors yet, but for beginners I really recommend this brand. Am I the only one who gets a massive ick from the "Haul" vids or other product placements? I just saw some Lululemon ASMR and that brand is ran by racists. There's Temu crap and tons of questionable supplements that don't do jack shit. And don't even get me started on beauty products - weird brands where you can't really even find out where they're produced and by whom - it's just bulk junk in a pretty packaging and you'll be lucky not to get an allergic reaction from them.
YES I know sponsors are a thing and most of the time I don't mind them, especially if the sponsors are small and ethical companies. But fast fashion hauls, lootbox crap and stuff like that is really gross. Anything with (plastic) glitter slimes etc. These are just shovelware ads for cheap garbage which the world is drowning in as it is. It's so depressing watching someone pretend to be loving and kind while touting products that were produced with basically slave labor, or that were tested on animals etc. It's straight up dystopian.
Yeah, you can't know everything as the consumer of ASMR content. But I'd hope that people who create ASMR - which is generally supposed to be fairly wholesome and wellness enhancing - would take the time to research the brands they're promoting. It was really disappointing that WhispersRed promoted BetterHelp and didn't seem to stop despite people telling her about the issues.

Look, we all know RLC has a solid proposition and hardly any awareness. We also know the easily influenced MAGA crowd just made a ton of temporary gains (for now) with this silly Trump rug pull meme coin. Can we organize a marketing campaign on their platforms to siphon maga wallets over to RLC. It would be too easy. Teach them about the security aspect and anonymity of this product. Hell, we could tell em to buy RLC to own the libs and we moon. Maybe tell them it would counter Nancy Pelosi or something… they literally buy anything. I’m going to start focusing efforts on introducing RLC to the new to crypto marks that just follow their orange leader into anything. It absolutely blows my mind that a trump coin can moon to almost 50B in “value” in a day whilst our current product gets hammered. I’d like for the Iexec team to target the loons that buy shitcoins for a campaign. It’s the least they can do for bag holders like us. Market this coin. Expand the exchanges we are offered on. Do friggin something. A bunch of AI corgi images is not enough. DO ANYTHING please. We deserve it.
