2025.01.19 15:10 themaniac94 Did Leo Szilard want to inform Japan about the atomic bombs before they were dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki?
I was a bit confused when I read the Wikipedia articles for the Potsdam Conference and the Szilard petition.
Szilard wanted to offer the possibility of surrender to the Japanese before the bombs were used, but that's exactly what the Potsdam declaration is, is it not?
I know that the bomb was not explicitly mentioned in the declaration, but the possibility of surrender was offered to the Japanese. Did Szilard want to inform Japan about the existence of the bomb? If so, why wasnt this directly stated in the petition?

So my boyfriend and I have been together for over 4 years - when we started dating to my knowledge he was straight. At around the 3 year mark he told me he cheated on me with a man, some months prior. This led to a lot of conversations about his sexuality and confusion around that. I love you him so much and chose to stay as I saw his struggle with this and sympathised. I have been open that I am attracted to women myself but this has never been a problem for me in terms of commitment. It has been over a year since this, and he recently opened up to that he is definitely bi and has feelings that he wants to be with other people sexually. From this, I said we had to break up and after a long deliberation we decided we both still really love each other and don’t want to be apart. He has later said that he feels he definitely wants to be with me and that he was just missing some aspects in of our sex life. I can’t help but feel hesitant to explore these things, we have done stuff like this before but ever since he cheated I have this resentment against that sort of stuff as I guess it puts the images of him cheating in my head and I just imagine he’d be imagining being with someone else, a man. I really don’t want to offend anyone, I guess I just never prepared myself to be with a bi man, and now I’m not sure how to feel, I don’t know if it’s the trauma from what’s happened or what but it feels hard for me to accept it. I guess I’m just looking for advice, and at the end of the day I’m worried in another years time something else will pop up like this.

I have Blue Sky Wolstok worsted for the body in mulberry and a pale blue in the same fot the neck and contrast. But I have some Cloudborn wool worsted in powder blue. I prefer the Cloudborn blue, which is slightly heavier. Would that work? It’s my first stranded project, so I’m quite nervous. Thank you for your assistance.
