I'm catering for hubby's 60th birthday for about 60 people (it was originally a lot less, but he kept inviting people ...😳). It is a casual 'pool party' theme (summer here) starting at 5pm with a buffet. There is not enough room/tables/ chairs for a sit down so it needs to be fork food. I'm after some feedback & advice for some of my concerns please!
The plan so far:
1. Nibbles sorted - grazing table: usual cheeses, dips, chips, falafels & spring rolls (hot), watermelon & grapes 2. Meats - pulled pork, meatballs, fresh rice paper rolls 3. 4 Salads - potato salad x 2 ?, caesar salad, oriental salad 4. Dessert - big ganached slab mud cake (& some more fruit platters)
- I will be outsourcing the rice paper rolls & cake. I likely will also outsource the potato salad.
- I will buy ready made (uncooked) meatballs. I can cook the meatballs & prepare the caesar & oriental salads components the day before
Everything I have read recommends allowing about 300g/ 2/3s of a lb per person, which is about 18kg of meat (& this is uncooked). Would it be reasonable to allow 7 kg of pork (using rolled shoulder no bone), 7 kg of meatballs knowing there were also 60 large fresh spring rolls available? I know that not everyone might eat the spring rolls, should I up the meat allowance more? I might mention too that the majority of the crowd are women, with a few kids & older relatives (not a beerfest event!)
I'm also confused about quantities of salad. I've read advice to allow 250gm/ 9ounces per person for salads ('sides'). Again this equates to 4 salads/ 15kg. Is 3.7kg of each salad overkill? Some advice please! I'm not sure how much to order ! I'll be making 2 salads (Caesar & oriental), again I am unsure how much to make (& how much ingredients to buy). If they make up 1/2 the salads, do I use the same weight guide of 3.7kg for each salad?

My partner and I are planning a trip.
The things that interest us the most are mountains, view spots, waterfalls, basically any natural beauty. We would also like to see active lava flow.
Our preferred method of holiday is usually to hire a camper and drive around, staying in recreational areas.
I understand that there a multiple islands, this obviously complicates it a little, we are hoping we can hire a camper on each island and soemd some time exploring.
Is all this feasible? Are there plenty of camp sites, is it safe on all the islands to camp around like this? What are some MUST see stops we need to include? What's the best time to visit? Any other information you'd like to add?

2025.01.19 15:03 Square_Community7189 I fell into bad ROCD patterns again once I started reducing and quitting sertraline. And It ruined my relationship. I can't forgive myself. Help me!
So in late summe early fall me and my now ex (miss you my baby) talked about reducing and quitting taking sertraline anf start taking another medicine. Because I had taken sertraline for 6 years without my doctor telling me I could get opposite effects from then later. Which now happened. They gave me more anxiety, bad sexual problems, weight gain so we came to an agreement to reduce it and quit it. So I was on 200 mg. And recuced 25 mg every 3 weeks. So my whole process of quitting them took 4 months I believe.
And the doctor recommended 3 weeks every 25 mg and said some side effects could come from them. Everytime I reduce 25 mg. Side effects such as more anxiety, mood swings, increasing stress and OCD sympoms, compulsions. But it would be temporary and we agreed to do this because the result after would be perfectfor both of us.
So I started doing this and I first blamed myself so much when my lovely ex ended our relationship. That I was weak minded, if I loved her I would have fought harder, I would do this and that you know.
Because 4 months, not constantly. But 4 months from me confessing my thoughts to her, not being sure of what was OCD or not, not trusting my instincts. I have lived with OCD for 6 years so I know the methods and what not to do. But the side effects gave me so much doubt. And I see now that the side effects is the reason. Before reducing I managed to not give in. And now after my OCD tolerance is better as well. It was during that time period that OCD was bad.
I told her time and time again my intrusive and unwanted thoughts, said "I think it's OCD" and in the same instant I told her, because I was in a rabbit hole of bad side effects, we had talked about that I should not tell her because it's bad for her And it's bad for me, and I listened to her and my mission was not to tell her, I would do anything for her, but the circumstances made me not know what was what. I was lost.
And later in the process we realized that my anxiety and side effects were tough to handle to we mansged to get another anxiety medicine. But it could take up to 6 weeks for it to have the full effect. So it was still the same thing for us with the effects. And she left me. 2 days later I got a therapist.
And I tried. During all this time. I tried my best. And I treated her well otherwise. Always have. With so much love and respect. I just had this rabbithole of thoughts. My reality was warped. She is my everything. The love of my life. And now she is gone. And I don't know if I'm to blame or my bad side effects.

I fell off around 7th, ironically the ubiquity of Knights was a contributing factor, and have been more of a fan of the setting instead of an active player. That changed with the one-two punch of The Old World coming back and the grotmas Iconoclast Fiefdom detachment. Old World I'm now actively playing, and while I have no plans to actually play 40k again, the Fiefdom appeals to the stuff I love about 40k and chaos, and looked like a fun hobby project.
