How did your life change for the better or worse afterwards?
I’ve lived in six cities, four since 2010, and I’ve been in the Twin Cities for four years now. Everywhere else I lived had its pros and cons, but I never really thought about them too much…I really don’t like it here though, and I feel like it’s always on my mind.
My relationship brought me here as my partner wanted to move home and being that she’s now at home, she never wants to leave again.
I’ve been all around the US and Canada, and I can only think of maybe four places I flat-out didn’t like…Atlanta, Nashville, Toronto, and the Twin Cities. These four places all feel characterless to me, just totally bland and full of modern condos, expensive eateries, but nothing that makes a place cool or interesting.
On top of that I just can’t adapt to the cold. I lived in a place where I’d go on 8 mile walks in 115 heat index no problem, but the cold and dark just makes me a miserable person.
People just aren’t friendly here either. The old stereotype about people giving you directions to anywhere but their house really seems to hold true here moreso than anywhere else. I walk around my neighborhood every day and almost no one will give even a causal “hey” which is very different than what I’m used to.
I know the first question would be why I agreed to move here given the above, but based on how much people love this area I just figured I needed to give it a chance to grow on me.
Just wanted to see other people’s experiences if they moved on from the Twin Cities and ended up somewhere else. Maybe the grass really isn’t always greener and maybe it’s not the place but just the post-Covid world that I find hard to find a place in, but it really does feel like it’s the place this time.

So i re-hauled the structure of my page to use almost exclusively flex containers and ive been linking it to the css using the class property, and its been ok while working locally (not using the neocities editor, and viewing the local html), but then if i go to paste both the new html and css into neocities, everything brakes. Im sure there arent any missing images or strange unresolved relations so im very confused why this is happening. If i change things to use the id some stuff begins to behave somewhat correctly but not nearly enough to not look broken. Anyone else having dealt with sth similar?

After over 15 years of being deeply involved in the electronic/edm scene, I’ve come to realize that if a track slaps, it slaps—doesn’t matter if it’s house, techno, trance, trap, dubstep, hardstyle, bass, or whatever else #fuckgenres.
Way too many best-of-the-year lists, especially on this sub, become simple popularity contests with a very narrow focus on specific types of sounds & artists. This list attempts to be unique among those - celebrating both the mainstream hits and more lowkey gems that really deserve love. I built this to try to showcase the 124 tracks that genuinely stood out in some way this past year, at least IMO.
I haven't heard every song released in ‘24, and I'm not claiming to be the ultimate judge of quality. Again, this is just my attempt to share the best music I've discovered over the year, across the electronic spectrum. A few vibes might be underrepresented (sorry if your favorites slipped through the cracks), but I hope there’s something here for everyone to discover and enjoy. Currently sitting in the shuttle waiting for the driver to load the luggage. It appears the driver is complaining to the carnival rep. We stood under for 45 minutes waiting with no direction. They had two ships lined up together. I guess we will be making two terminal stops. Carnival has dropped the ball on this one. Never again.
