2025.01.19 16:56 Silly_Edge4405 One of my pigs died today.
we only got the pair a year ago. Not even that. One of them died today and I don’t know it just feels weird we had to split the pair up due to dominance issues. But god the dominant one cried and cried for him so we put them together every now again. And we put them back together. Then recently the one who died today lost a lot weight and began to stumble. With him being only 8 months old we thought this was strange and took him to the vets. They said they couldn’t put him under anaesthetic as he weighs too little and could not recover. So we did some home care antibiotics certain foods etc. he genuinely looked like he was on the mend. He was the most adorable pig I’ve ever seen. White with a black spot on the eye. Anyway today he just took a turn and began to fall over and everything else. I came downstairs to see him on his side kicking his legs. I went to help but didn’t want to hurt him so I tried to see if he was alive and he was. I thought maybe he’s just fell over so I put him back up. On his side. Then my parents looked after them for a while. Came downstairs and he was still seizuring but breathing. This went on for 2hrs. Didn’t know what to do. Then it stopped and he’s passed away. The other Guinea pig saw. Sniffed him and ran away making a crying sound. Broke my heart. Just wanted to know if anyone’s got any ideas of what happened to him based on the information. He was small when we got him. (Smallest of the bunch)

I've always had dreams now and then used to be. I couldn't really remember what they were. My dreams are never usually where things are going good or I'm incredibly happy or anything. Typically, they are stressful situations such as traveling and missing a item or suitcase or going on a trip, arriving and then realizing that you left very critical bits of gear at home or someone stole them or you realize you're half dressed! It's always a stressful situation. For years I've slept with a mouthpiece because these dreams caused me to grind my teeth, however, since passing the 60 threshold, it seems like I have many more dreams, more intense & stressful. Its nearly a daily occurrence. Typical?

Hi! My name is Casey, and I've just begun a project where once every week, I am reviewing an Oscar winner for Best Picture from 1950-1999 and discussing how we revere movies as an American society and whether or not they still hold up as classics.
I'm posting this here because the first film on the list, starting in 1999, is American Beauty dir. Sam Mendes, which I think is a riveting exploration of the American condition though thematically is increasingly controversial by today's standards. I've studied critical theory as an English major and explore themes of floriography as well as the Foucauldian perception of societal surveillance, so if you're interested, my first post is here.
For the sake of the read not being laborious I only briefly touch on these subjects but have an extensive background on theory (I especially love viewing movies from the perspectives of Foucault, Saussure, and Bhabha, though this movie is definitely Freudian in nature as well), so feel free to engage me with any questions for further discussion! Thank you for your support, as this is project is going to be my professional portfolio when I graduate college next year!
