2025.01.19 19:41 bonbam The end in sight - celebrating the first draft
Like most here I have some silly idea that I have a story worth writing and publishing. Maybe I do, maybe I don't. Either way, I have three chapters left to write in my first draft (87k written so far) and the excitement is so distracting! A good problem to have though haha.
What do y'all like to do when you finish a first draft? Do you celebrate at all, or just go "thank god" and sleep for a solid 48 hours? I've spent the better part of a year plotting, world building, and writing. I'm really not sure how to fill my time once I'm done before I go back for editing 😂

Really don't like handing over my phone to sick people. The only time they require signatures is cough meds and alcohol. From now on I'm just going to swipe their signature. Really don't like interacting and taking their ID, holding and inspecting it when it's 10⁰ outside. Spark should do away with this practice and update the app so drivers can just take a picture of ID's. Or even better have A.I. do it in the app on a once-per-order basis. No contact delivery helps everyone by preventing communicable respiratory illnesses. End signatures at point of delivery!
Do customers even know they're required to present ID when they order these items?

Hello all. I've just finished with cabinet doors and about to move to the cabinets. What I've done to doors: covered with a citric stripper, wrapped every piece in plastic wrap, removed all dissolved lacquer with a scrapper, sanded with 80->120->220, sprayed a stain&poly, and then a matte polyurethane.
So the question is is it possible to avoid stripping old lacquer from cabinets as it has so many ducking curves which require a lot of manual sanding. The scrapping is so messy as well.

I’ve been interested in learning American Sign Language for years, and potentially grow a career with it. I have a few questions. Do you have to go to college to be qualified or can you get a certificate online? If you have a job being an interpreter, tutor, or anything like that.. do you like it? And is it worth it? If you have experience in working online as an interpreter, how is it? I love the ASL community and have been hesitant to start a career within it, but I feel like hearing others experience with it will encourage me. Any advice or information would be helpful. Thank you

Today i read in chat that depending how long you charge the defibrillator, the more health the player is revived with. Which is probably true? I have never heard or even thought about that...

Does busch gardens close any coasters on windy and cold days ? Planning on going tomorrow or Tuesday and I'm worried some of the coasters might be down if it gets near 40 degrees. Universal would close hulk and rip ride rocket during these weather conditions which is why I'm asking. Thanks guys

2025.01.19 19:41 l00sem4rble Ski Rental Strategy? - Flying into Reno, staying on Nevada side of Heavenly. Arrive late on Sat evening.
I will be part of a group but I'm the only guy that needs to rent skis/boots/etc. I don't want to bog the group down so was trying to figure out the easiest/fastest way to rent gear. I will arrive to resort area about 8pm on Sat night which I assume is too late to rent gear that night. Will want to be first in line Sunday morning.
Where we are staying on Nevada side we will be near Stagecoach Lodge which has Epic Mountain Rentals and we are also near CV Sports. Unfortunately I have read negative reviews for both of these places. But maybe they are mostly OK? Any feedback?
I think it is only about 15 to town where I see a bunch of places oaround Ski Run Blvd. Will it be worth int to drive into town to rent skis?
I also thought about renting on Sat evening in or around Reno or along the route to the resort? Will be passing by again on way home of course to return skiis. Thoughts?

We (40m)(43f) have been dating about 4 months, we basically agreed to not date other people, but neither have really fully committed or asked one another to be bf/gf. Her husband passed away, so I figured she would let me know when she’s ready.
Friday was her birthday and she went out of town and was supposedly with her brothesister in law/family. She was supposed to call me back later that night and didn’t. She got an Air B and B with her girlfriends for Sat and Sun- texted good morning Saturday and I texted back. She called and we talked briefly Saturday around noon and she said she would call back. Supposedly they all went out for Karaoke, but never heard from her the rest of the day/night and my text from Saturday morning was never read until this morning when she texted this morning. I know for a fact she sent some snap chats last night.
I don’t know if I’m over reacting or being a baby about it? I have trust issues and some trauma from my last relationship, so part of me wonders what’s healthy and what’s not.

This overconfidence ki fans hamare kehne pe basa jita denge needs to break and I am sure today it broke... and that makes me very very happy...
This truly felt like redemption arc of Bigboss more than anything else and I am glad that they didnt give in to the gundagardi of all those nonsense people whom I dont even want to name !
