 | This was my first trip after switching from a Nikon D70x, to my first Fujifilm camera, the legend that was the Xpro1. I only had the 35mm f1.4 and 18mm f2 (still use those today). I remember at the time looking through the EVF and thinking this doesn't look good. Moving from OVF to EVF at first was weird, everything looked low quality. As per title, policeman in uniform knocked on my door of my 3rd floor flat in London, and said he was working in the area and really needed the toilet. Is this normal? I was visibly confused and as i told him i'm not comfortable with giving him access he knocked on neighbour's door. Is this normal practice? I dont understand why he wouldn't go to a nearby restaurant or something

2025.01.19 20:42 purpleparrot9 Receivers and (ex)landlord are both requesting rent
Both, our receivers and (ex)landlord are asking us to make monthly rent payments to them. Not sure who to pay to. So far we've received a "Appointment of LPA/Fixed Charge Receivers" notice, but nothing else. The receivers have appointed a management company for the flat.
Additionally, we had paid our landlord 6 weeks of deposit, which is insured (and is not in custody) by MyDeposits. Since our landlord is in possession money, we are pretty certain she will not give it back at the end of the tenancy as the landlord has a long list of creditors. The receivers aren't taking responsibility for the deposit.
What do we do regarding who to pay the rent to, and recoup our deposit?
- Pay the receiver rent as we would with your landlord, and hope for the deposit back when the time comes.
- Withhold 6 weeks of rent and then continue to pay the receiver rent, so as to recoup the deposit
- Pay the landlord rent
- Don't pay anyone until the receiver takes responsibility for our deposit? (not sure what this would look like, since the deposit is held by the landlord)
- Any other options?

I'm probably overthinking this, but lately I've been wondering if Dee could have somehow leaked word to Omar about Stinkum's whereabouts, when him and Wee-Bey go to take Scar out.
Earlier, Dee seems put off when he learns that Stinkum is gonna get some territory and points, while he's still stuck working the pit.
I know the show goes a long way to make Omar a patient observer and all, but it just seems too convenient he'd be at the exact spot at the exact time when Stinkum walks past him.
Thoughts?

Hi everyone.
My mom was moved to a hospice facility almost 2 weeks ago. We are all very surprised that she is still here and mostly lucid. Luckily my dad's insurance has approved her stay for a while so hopefully she will be here to the end.
She is getting more and more confused by the day and I am trying to talk to my dad about their property etc. My parents haven't updated their wills since the 1980s, before my younger sister was born. My mom doesn't own anything solely in her name. Everything is shared property between her and my dad. She also has not had any income since the early 2000s other than Social Security.
Is there anything we need to do before she dies or since my dad is also on all of their accounts, can he take care of everything with her death certificate?
I know we need to contact Medicare and Social Security ASAP after she passes so they don't send her any money that will have to be paid back, but other than that is there anything I'm missing?
My dad is not in a great place watching his wife of 40+ years slowly die after being her sole caretaker for the past 18 months, so I'm trying to only bother him with things that have to be done.

Basically the title. I am pondering this after reading a story about a man who was caught with several tbs of a specific type of illegal porn and it just set me wondering why some people are seemingly so deeply compelled to have this type of shit they would risk life in prison for pictures on a screen. You would think that even if you were so deranged that nothing else could get you off, not engaging with it and being safe from reprocussions would still be better than seeking it out. It feels to me like the logical answer to sexual crimes is that the perpetrator is not entirely in control of their actions, otherwise why would anyone ever choose to do something of the sort? But surely it couldn't be that it isn't a choice, at least not for most people that are functioning adults and not noticeably insane. Otherwise how would they progress so far in life if their impulses aren't controllable? Surely you would have other impulses that would fuck you over day to day right? But here we are in 2025, it's pretty well known that many famous or powerful people who could easily fulfill pretty much all their fantasies with grown adults legally are seemingly attracted to illegal things and engaging with them likely multiple times? Something about it just seems very odd, like it's irreplaceable to them somehow and they cannot avoid acting it out despite standing to lose everything

Important backstory: I suffer from PTSD after being raped many years ago. I have protection of my name and address, meaning it can not legally be found online or passed on.
I had a door that needed to be fixed. Mentioned it to my parents casually during conversation.
At no point did I ask them to fix the door or find someone who could.
Suddenly I get a call that the door will be fixed, a couple of builders would come. Was surprised but thanked him.
The builders arrived, turned out one of them is a friend of my rapist. My dad knows this but hired him anyway.
I completely panic and end up walking aimlessly around the town until they leave.
My husband said I was overreacting. He later apologized and said I reacted like I did for a reason (meaning my PTSD).
When I confronted my parents and was very upset they said that " this better not be about the door, this was we could afford to do". "He is a nice guy that just spends time with his family".
I can't sleep, I'm terrified he is gonna pass on my address to my rapist. Tried to explain that to my parents and my husband.
Everything I fought for, privacy, security, peace..I feel like it's gone. I fought SO hard to get my rapist to leave me alone after I reported it to police. I have kept fighting since he was released to live under the radar.
Am I overreacting?

I am severely dissatisfied with my v11 Dyson vacuum. It really doesn't have that much suction power and the attachments... The mini one keeps pulling hairs very into it so the plastic keeps burning off. The large ones mostly do not suck anything in, but with the huge rotating speed just flings the dirt about, I got a recommendation to get a cyclone attachment Makita cordless instead. From a previous thread though I am to conclude that Dyson should be the more powerful and useful one? I am talking of Makita model DCL180SFCB for example
