I'm looking to buy a used car, and I'm stuck between a 2012 Volvo C70 and a 2015 Audi A3. The Volvo has 111k miles on it, and the Audi has 90k miles on it. Which would be a more reliable and long lasting car? And do either cost significantly more in terms of repairs? Any advice would be helpful :-)

 | In the process of unclapping this 05' CRF450R I got for $1700 with title, no mechanical issues but cosmetically a shxt show, looks like it was stored outside for some time now unfortunately and wanted to see if anyone had any tips for getting rust/surface rust off without taking the part off completely to have it soak or wire brush it off the bike, because if I had to take every part off it would pretty much be a down to the frame restoration. We’re a small community so far (11 currently). The server is only a few weeks old and we are currently working on spawn town and marketplaces!
Only rules are no griefing (duh) and 17+ age. A vanilla instance works perfectly well, although we do also use Fabric and Simply Voice chat on the server side to communicate if you want. Please keep in mind, we are also based in the US (central timezone), and while not all of our members (or expected hours) are close to that, we will generally stay near that hour spread

 | Some friends asked me at a Christmas party last month about making a moveable microwave/coffee cabinet for their kitchen. They had this drawing already, and after a visit to take measurements, and discuss finishes, I got to work! Cabinet is made with 3/4” birch sides, and 1/4” birch back. Drawer boxes are pine with birch bottoms. I used 3/4” solid poplar for the trim and drawer faces, and a reclaimed raised-grain coffee table top from FB marketplace to match their dining table. 2025.01.19 21:58 eviscerality Found my GameCube! It has begun. Again.
After joining this thread and seeing everyone else bask in the glory of their old GameCube... I went on a search to find mine. I found it fairly easily, and plugged it in to test. Turned right on, I looked through some game saves that appeared to still be in working order on my 251. I guess I gave my games away to a young kid years ago so they could enjoy them, so I have nothing to mess around on. A quick online search makes it clear what my options are, as GameCube games are unsurprisingly quite expensive.
Super excited to go back in time. I know I have a Skies of Arcadia Legends save with Vyse the Legend rank and everyone at level 99. I also have a Code: Veronica X save where I beat Nosferatu with only a knife and all items are in the item box for Chris. Not sure if those merit spoiler tags, but whatever.
I noticed a few things from other threads:
- There is a decent pack of 4 replacement joysticks from eBay that might be "good enough" - I can use hydrogen peroxide and sunlight (or UV lamp) to reduce the yellowing on the console - Not having a CRT anymore, my best option would be to get a Carby or something similar - Flippydrive or something similar with an SD card is really the only way to go
Any tips/other suggestions on getting this thing going again?

2025.01.19 21:58 Fresh-Hedgehog1895 My PC goes through spates where it automatically shuts down. Any help on how to prevent this?
So, for the past three or four months my desktop PC will suddenly without warning just shut off. This ALWAYS happens in in spates -- like it will be working fine for two weeks straight and then suddenly, one day, it will keep shutting down.
It did this last night for about two hours straight, but it has been fine all day today.
Sometimes, after this happens, I will not bother turning the computer back on, but it will turn itself on and then switch off again 3 seconds later, sort of like it's struggling to find power.
I have checked all the connections and I regularly clean everything with an air-can but nothing seems to permanently fix this.
Any suggestions?

2025.01.19 21:58 Ifrit-67 Beginner trying to decide on a budget pick between a hand grinder and an electric. [$250]
I'm researching my first setup, I'm probably going to get a Bambino espresso machine. Grinder wise, I'm a little stuck. On the one hand, I know manual grinders get more quality per dollar, but it seems like a huge pain to spend a full minute grinding my coffee every time. Just miming a 45 second grind is so tedious, I can't imagine doing that every day.
On the other hand, I know electrics are faster grinds, but they tend to get way more expensive. I think my main concern with the electric grinders is the noise. I don't want to startle the wife or the cat with my workflow every morning, especially if I get up way before them some days.
So far with the electrics I'm thinking an Encore ESP, for hand grinder I'm looking at a K6. Does anyone have experience with these? Is there a quieter or faster grinder that I'm potentially missing? I could MAYBE bump up to a $300 pick if it's absolutely perfect.
