I have a 2016 Rheem R802VA075421MXA furnace which I've been having trouble with off and on for 4 winters now (since buying the house in 2021). I intermittently have a problem where the heater won't heat, and instead decides to do cycles of running the (cold) blower on high for ~5 mins and sitting idle ~5 mins. Sometimes it does this once or twice and then finally lights and is fine, other times (more recently) it gets stuck in this cycle for an extended period of time and I wake up to a house 10-15F below the set point.
When it first started doing this I tried multiple times to catch the system failing to light. Every time I'd climb up into the attic and by the time I got there it was working fine. Finally one time I caught it giving error codes 45 and 46. This led me to believe it was a low pressure switch fault, so I cleaned the flue vent (which wasn't dirty or obstructed) and when the problem persisted called in my home warranty (since I don't have the tools to diagnose a venting issue). The HVAC tech came out, checked out the pressure switches and venting and said they were fine. He then said the flame sensor was dirty, so he cleaned that and left. The unit worked fine for the rest of the season.
The next winter it started doing it again, so I again climbed up and got lucky to catch the system attempting to light and fail once more. The system got to running the ignitor (meaning in theory it was happy with flue pressures) but didn't light. I didn't have the blower side of the cabinet open so couldn't get an error code, but based on the fact that the ignitor was spraying sparks wildly rather than in an orderly pattern and that I heard the gas running I assumed it was a bad ignitor and replaced that. The problem once again went away for the rest of the season.
Cue year 3 where the problem came back once again. I decided to hire another HVAC guy (this time at full price since my new home warranty was up) and he once again troubleshooted the venting, came to the conclusion the flame sensor was bad (and charged me $300 for the pleasure of replacing it...) and recommended if the problem persisted I consider replacing the whole system... Once again the problem went away for the rest of the season.
Winter number 4 comes around and the problem came back and more prevalent than ever... It was failing to light every time there was a cold night and would get stuck in the glitch cycle for extended periods. I climbed up and once again caught error codes 45 and 46 coming on intermittently throughout the startup, and the unit pulsing the flue blower to (I assume) try and clear an obstruction. I then thwacked the pressure switch and the unit immediately lit up and went back to normal. This led me to (finally) replace the pressure switch assembly and everything worked great for about 6 weeks.
And here we are today when I noticed the house is 5F below the setpoint. The unit isn't even trying to light and is giving a solid 45 error code. Once again I thwacked the pressure sensor unit and once again it started right up... At this point I'm at my wit's end... Does anyone have any recommendations? Did I somehow get a faulty pressure sensor? Or should I be replacing the logic board at this point?

I have always regularly cleansed and moisturized. I have found suitable face sunscreen btw now as an adult- please be gentle I was raised essentially in a fucking hippie commune with no electricity or running water aka semi feral so there was no guidance from adults on wearing sunscreen or really anything relating to life. ANYWAYS. in the past few weeks i have found out that you can buy expensive skincare at Marshall's / Home Goods and I swear the one near me is stacked all the time. I recently picked up Kate Somerville 'exfolikate' foaming cleaner jumbo size that should be $175 for $16 and I love it. It immediately made my skin brighter and after washing my face for the first time my skin felt and looked very different. But since this cleanser has chemical exfoliants in it so i am not using retinol now. But i do love the results i was getting just from the Ordinary retinol (the lower % one). What product should i stick with, or should I cycle them and use a gentle cleanser on the other days? VERY open to any suggestions as well for creating a routine and product recommendations. Photo of my skin is pre retinol pre pretty much anything. I do not love the lines between my eyebrows or the irregularities in skin tone and texture. Iām posting this on Low Effort Sunday because I wrote this on my phone at work so thereās inevitably going to be some typos and missing words. š¤·āāļø

Ever since the Bowser vs. Eggman Death Battle Iāve become increasingly interested in Sonic media after spending most of my life avoiding it like the plague because the internet convinced me it was a series of broken games kept alive by emotionally stunted furries.
But honestly the games are great. Most have a bit of jank here and there but itās easy to forgive if you go in expecting it.
This newfound appreciation for the Sonic franchise quickly became my new hyperfixation and Iāve been spending the past few months consuming as much Sonic media as possible.
And one thing I absolutely love about the Sonic franchise is the primary antagonist: Dr. Eggman.
For the longest time Iāve always assumed Eggman was just to Sonic what Bowser and Ganon are to Mario and Link. But heās so much more than that.
What appeals to me the most is how he strikes a perfect balance of being a goofy character that you can laugh at while still feeling like a serious threat that you canāt take lightly. And he gets this across through amazing presentation. (insert Megamind meme here)
Bowser is a threat sure, but only when youāre fighting him. The danger he poses is very rarely felt outside of his castles or airships and his M.O. is so predictable that itās treated as a joke in-universe.
Ganon meanwhile just absolutely sucks at branding. In some games itās not even clear if heās behind whatever bad thing is happening until the end. Itās often very unclear which bossfights are Ganonās minions and which are just monsters that happened to be living in there and are pissed at Link for breaking into their house. Ganon is not a very hands-on villain most of the time and he usually just unleashes the bokoblin hordes upon Hyrule, ruins everyoneās lives, then pisses off to wait for the Hero of Time to show up.
Eggman has none of these problems. The danger Eggman poses can always be felt throughout the story. Heās anything but predictable, his endgame of creating Eggmanland is always the same, but he almost never attempts it the same way twice. He almost always acquires some kind of x-factor to give him an edge. His colossal narcissism and absence of subtlety makes sure you always know what is and isnāt his handiwork. Heās never hands-off either, he will always come to personally harass his enemies at every opportunity.
And moving away from video games for a minute. I love the show Samurai Jack and I love its primary antagonist Aku. But Aku basically has the opposite problem Bowser does where the threat he poses is only really felt when heās offscreen. Heās just such a overwhelmingly goofy character that itās hard to take him seriously because he always deflates the tension. Itās only when you see the cruelty and suffering he passively inflicts on the people of the world that you feel the weight of his villainy. Again donāt get me wrong I LOVE Aku. I just felt like he was tonally all over the place.
Eggman like Aku is also a goofy character but unlike Aku, Eggman never lets the tension go when it counts. He strikes that perfect balance of silly and intimidating and his crimes are just heinous enough to make him hatable without making his goofiness tonally inconsistent.
But not all Eggmans (Eggmen?) are created equal and I donāt feel like any other iterations of the good doctor really hit the sweet spot the one from the main canon does.
For instance: I donāt like the Archie comics version of Eggman, heās too evil to enjoy. The Egg Grapes alone are just too much imo. Making Eggman literally Hitler complete with his own version of the Holocaust throws off the balance and makes him stop being fun to watch. Archie Eggman isnāt a villain I love to hate, I just regular hate him.
Iām not saying canon Eggman wouldnāt totally try to do all the things Archie Eggman did. But thereās a mental trick in writing where a villain is perceived by the audience to be only as bad as the worst thing theyāve succeeded in doing. Hence why Batman no-kill-rule discussions always center around the Joker despite him technically being one of the less dangerous members of Batmanās rogues gallery. Meanwhile the scene where Batman chooses not to kill Ace despite her being such a huge threat that even the aforementioned Joker was terrified of her, is celebrated.
Canon Eggman has done some seriously heinous shit and has attempted even worse but since his darkest schemes have always been thwarted it doesnāt really feel like heās as bad as his intentions are and that creates a sense of security that makes him easier to enjoy.
Going by interviews Iāve read, the current lead writer for Sonic the Hedgehog, Ian Flynn, appears to be aware of this and is trying to avoid letting canon Eggman cross the same event horizon Archie Eggman did. Iāve seen some fans criticize this attitude, accusing him of being too safe and such, but to me it looks like Flynn is thinking in the long term for Eggman and doesnāt want to write himself into a tonal corner.
The Sonic Boom version of Eggman has the reverse problem of Archie Eggman. Heās barely even a villain in Boom, more of a nuisance than anything else actually. While his dynamic with the rest of the main cast is great. But it doesnāt contain anything that makes me love canon Eggman.
Then thereās the Chaos Council from Sonic Prime series in which is Eggman split into five personalities ruling an alternate universe. Itās complicated. The Chaos Council is pretty widely hated by Sonic fans and itās easy to understand why. Theyāre all fairly one note and certainly lack the charisma of the doctor they split from. But Iām willing to be a little more charitable to them than most because they manage to perfectly strike the goofy/threatening balance Iāve been talking about. Despite their character concepts being a string of jokes they a very real threat throughout the series. So they scratched the itch well enough for me.
Also the Chaos Council does some interesting things with how each of them fights that we get to see as the series goes on.
Dr. Donāt in particular has an interesting fighting method where instead of the standard mech or power armor he picks a random Eggforcer among his army to control manually with a VR headset and motion controls. The if someone destroys the one heās controlling he just switches to another one. Itās pretty cool.
But I think thatās enough hot takes for one post so to end this Iām going to say I still mostly agree with the Death Battle verdict but they made a huge mistake letting it come down to the armies in the post-battle analysis because it left the door open for people who disagree to mockingly say āBowser won with the power of Friendshipā. I think fact that Bowser has the strength to overpower any of Eggmanās mechs and having access all of his powers at any time were the real deciders. Bowserās just built different.

Iāve (22F) noticed something odd that happens when I go out, and Iām wondering if anyone else knows why it happens. Anytime I go out, men will approach me, but instead of starting a conversation or getting to know me, theyāll just say something like, āYouāre so beautiful,ā and then immediately walk away after I say thank you. They donāt ask for my name, try to talk further, or anything ā itās like they came over just to make the compliment and then leave.
