A little long so please bare with me.
I 24f came across a guys ig account on my recommended list who I had a crush on in hs and I've been wanting to reach out.
My family moved around a lot when I was a teenager and by the time I reached my 3rd and final high school I was in the middle of the 11th grade during transfer and I guess it's safe to say I did not have many friends at that point. I actually had none. I was burnt out from constantly moving and I was incredibly shy with undiagnosed social anxiety at the time so I kept to myself as much as I could. Everyone had their own friend groups from middle school so it was awkward attempting to make friends. The guy I liked, let's call him A (24m) was pretty well known and popular. He was a student athlete and was kind, just a nice and good looking guy overall. I never really spoke to him so it was a one sided crush until graduation and I never saw him or anyone from my year after that.
That was about 7 years ago, I spent the first few years of my 20s going through a really rough and traumatic timing, unfortunately it took away from the first few years of my youth. I've been seeing a therapist regularly and am in a much better place mentally.
The thought of him randomly came to my mind a couple weeks ago and then I saw his profile on my recommended as i guess we have many mutuals from school, so I thought what the heck, we're adults now, I guess the whole social status in high school is over now and all so why not shoot my shot, since im also working on stepping outside of my confort zone and working on my anxiety. I requested him a week ago and he still hasn't responded to the request so I feel a little overwhelmed. Perhaps he doesn't remember me I'm guessing or perhaps he's just busy with a full adult life. Last I checked he was an engineer so idk I guess there's that.
I asked two people for advice, one being my 19m cousin and my 23f friend. My cousin said to play it cool and just send a simple hey, while my friend said not to message anything at all as the request itself was me shooting my shot. So now idk what I should be doing. I thought I'd send him a message saying "hey, super random but I was wondering if you'd be interested in grabbing coffee or something sometime. Totally okay if not :)"
Idk if being that direct is weird since we weren't really friends and he hasn't responded to my request. I also don't want to scare him off because it's going to be humiliating given how many mutuals we have on our socials.
I also posted this elsewhere and got comments saying im being childish so I'd like to clarify before anyone makes assumptions, I grew up in a narcissistic family with very religious parents. A lot of normal things like crushes, dating, finding someone attractive, or even talking to the opposite gender were a huge no for us. I missed out on a lot of normal things growing up because of trying to keep up with my family's expectations. I've been working on establishing boundaries and doing what's better for me so I guess this would be one of the first few things Id like to do for myself.

Apparently Lisa (co creator) has experienced a serious theft spree. Additionally to her Jeep yesterday, a suitcase full with photos was stolen too at the same incident, among other things. I can’t imagine what it’s like, losing your kids photos from a suitcase in your own property. This is unimaginable.
We as fans owe her this amazing tv show that has changed so much of some of our lives. Clearly Lisa believes in the kindness of strangers, so let’s try to be chivalrous and spread the word. So if anyone knows anything, let’s get her kids photos back from beyond the wasteland :)

I'm writing this in hopes to get a little validation about how I'm feeling... I recently did 2 days of diving with Neal Watson and the great hammerhead shark dive. The hammerheads were amazing, but I feel pretty put off by some of the behaviors of the dive guides. There were many nurse sharks that show up to the hammerhead dive, and the guides do NOT like these nurse sharks. They use very forceful methods to keep them away. I saw a guide punch one of them in the heads, he also used a pole and forcefully smashed up and down on the top of the sharks head, and I saw several guides stomp on the sharks heads or wedge the sharks head between their foot and a metal box. I understand these sharks have thick skin, but we are in their world, one of the first things we are taught is not to touch the sea life... this seems extremely out of the realm of respecting the ocean. I was also there with a dive instructor who specializes in sharks (not affiliated with Neal Watson) who said it was definitely unnecessary force against the nurse sharks. The reason I want validation is because no one else seemed fazed by this behavior until I brought it up... and no reviews mention this behavior. I found it pretty upsetting and disturbing. The only reason I did a second day with them is because the guide who was being rough on the first day was off the next day, I thought it was an isolated incident. But there were 3 or 4 guide the next day who engaged in this behavior. Am I over reacting? I also witnessed 2 of the guides on the second day pick up sea stars and fling them carelessly... seems so opposite of the behaviors I value.

Has anyone switched from the minipill to the Mirena or Liletta IUD? If so, how did you like it? Did you have any negative side effects on the IUD?
I'm currently taking the minipill (norethindrone 0.35mg) on a daily basis with no side effects, but I'm thinking of switching to a form of birth control that is more convenient. Prior to the minipill, I had the Nexplanon arm implant for 2 years, but experienced irregular bleeding (period would last up to 2 weeks sometimes).
Would love to hear your experiences.

I'm a cx user and recently built a waterproof system using grasp trucks. I didn't think they would be too different because I have very soft riptide bushings my cx and I keep the kingpin nut fairly loose.
Grasp trucks came w the kingpin nut really lose. Once on board I noticed the board felt WAY looser and turns significantly sharper. After getting used to it for 30 mins I switched to my CX and I legit thought something was wrong with my board it felt so stiff!

2025.01.20 04:14 PopPale4250 My body was unable to purge for a couple days and it wrecked me
I'm sorry if this comes off as too pro but I really want to read other people's experiences and maybe get some help to recover because what I went through was not it.
Last week, for 4 days, for whatever reason my body REFUSED to purge. No matter what I did, no matter how hard I tried, nothing was coming up. I couldn't stop myself from binging for those 4 days and I definitely gained a lot of weight because I was keeping it down. I wish I could say I was happy because I wasn't purging.... but I wasn't. It wasn't even about the weight or how my body looked, I was in so much pain from the bloating and I could barely move for those 4 days. My legs and face are puffy which is weird because my face is never puffy even from purging. I want to recover so badly, but is this recovery? I want to be normal again, but I don't think this is the path to normalcy. My dietician said the first step to recovery is not purging the binges but I just can't do that. No actual person would want to keep down the mass amounts of food they just consumed right? With the pain and the bloating. During those 4 days, my parents even noticed my strange behavior, they thought it was because I wasn't eating enough and pressured me to eat more. I just want this disordered eating nonsense to end. Currently, I'm back to purging again, my legs and face feel puffy still puffy though. What on earth is happening to my body? I know I'm getting enough electrolytes because I've been drinking my supplemental drinks. Never in the past year and a half has my body refused to purge like that, maybe 1 or 2 days max. I feel like there must be a better way to recover right? I never want to go through that ever again but I also don't want to go back to b/p. Has anyone else experienced this?

The batch of smoked porter I brewed last yr only had 5% weyermann rauchmalt in the total grist weight..and while it was a super solid porter, im revisiting it again and hoping to tweak it a bit. I don't want campfire or ashtray, but an approachable and subtle (but noticeable) smoke character using weyermann beechwood again. Any suggestions on a good %?

Background:
My father passed away 4 years ago. A house was in his and his brother's name. After his death, a lot of things happened, the house became derelict and had to be demolished.
I had zero interest in that property, so to maintain my peace of mind, I decided to gift/relinquish the property.
As a starting point, I had my father's name removed from the 7-12 and added my and my mom's name.
I wanted to ask a few questions as below:
- Which one would be better? Gift deed or relinquishment deed?
- Are both parties needed on the spot for the relinquishment deed as well? (I know that for the gift deed, both the parties should be present).
