My 6 week old was doing great with tummy time, she would push up and lift her head and hold it. She even flipped over onto her back a few times. Her pediatrician witnessed it at her 4 week check up and was impressed. Around 5 weeks she stopped lifting and just started rubbing her face into her play mat. She tends to rub her face into me when she is sleepy, I believe as a soothing mechanism. But she is now doing this during tummy time even when she is wide awake. Sometimes she will start to get fussy when I put her into the position so I just roll her onto her back for play and she will then calm. I originally had her propped with a boppy pillow, or rolled up blanket. We then moved to no assistance and she was doing great, then suddenly she just stopped. I’ve brought the boppy back out and she will lift for a few seconds then start rubbing her face into it and just won’t pick her head back up.
Of course I do plan to bring this up with her pediatrician, she goes for her 2 month appointment soon. I am not seeking medical advice. I’m just wondering if anyone else’s baby had this experience and what ever came of it. She is hitting every milestone and has even hit social milestones earlier than expected.
Give me all the tips for motivating her during tummy time as well as any other ways I can get her to lift her head some (the chest technique is effective for her) I do not want her getting flat spots and also want her to work those neck muscles some until we figure out tummy time.

This procedure describes how to set up multiple library cards on your Kobo using a login account on the OverDrive website. The advantage of this approach is that you can add all of your cards to your Kobo in a single step rather than adding each of them to your Kobo separately. Doing it this way is slightly more convenient the first time around, and much more convenient if you set up more than one Kobo device, if you have to reset your Kobo device, or if you want to add a new library later on.
This procedure is not needed if you only plan to use a single library card. For that, just follow the steps in Kobo's help article Borrow eBooks from the public library using your Kobo eReader.
Summary and Notes
You're going to create a login account on the OverDrive.com website, which will let you collect all of your supported libraries' cards in one place. Then you'll be able to add all of your library cards to your Kobo with a single login. Only one of those libraries can be used to search for and borrow books on your Kobo; however, you'll be able to borrow books from your other libraries using a mobile app or website, and the borrowed items will automatically be made available on your Kobo.
It's assumed that you already know how to sign up for a library card and how to borrow books using at least one of the following: the Libby mobile app, the OverDrive website, and/or your library's own website.
- (OverDrive is a company that provides ebook lending services to many but far from all libraries in 75 countries. Libby is the OverDrive company's mobile app for Android and IOS. Either or both names might be used by your library when describing their online lending services.)
Your Kobo can let you read books from multiple libraries and sync those books automatically if they're available in the Kobo store. However, your Kobo device can only include one library's books in the OverDrive tab of the Discover page and the OverDrive search results on the Search page.
Preparation
- Sign up for a borrower's card at one or more libraries.
- To be used with Kobo, each library must support the Libby app or the OverDrive service. (See the note above about the difference between Libby and OverDrive.)
- Create a login account on the OverDrive website.
- Go to https://www.overdrive.com/account/sign-up. Ignore the button labeled "Sign up using libarary card" and create your account using the form labeled "Enter your details" instead.
- Note that having an OverDrive login account is not the same as logging into the OverDrive site using a library card.
- Add your library cards to your Overdrive account.
- Go to https://www.overdrive.com/account/sign-in. If it asks you to sign in again, ignore the button labeled "Sign in using library card" and fill in your email address and password instead.
- On the Account Settings page, go to the Libraries tab.
- Search for and add each of the libraries that you have cards for.
- Decide which library's card you want to be able to search on your Kobo.
- On your Kobo, go to Settings -> OverDrive.
- On the OverDrive settings page, tap "Get Started".
- On the About Overdrive page, tap "Add Library".
- Follow the steps in the "Find a public library" page to select the library that you want to be able to search and check out books from on your Kobo.
- When you reach the page with a QR code, you have two options for signing into OverDrive.
- Scan the QR code and use your phone's browser to sign in.
- OR, tap "Sign in on this device" down below the QR code and follow these steps.
- Do not enter your card number or PIN.
- Tap "Sign in with OverDrive".
- Enter OverDrive username and password.
- Tap "Sign In".
- Once you have successfully signed into OverDrive, your Kobo should be able to sync borrowed books from all of your libraries.
- Test searching for and borrowing a book directly on your Kobo.
- Test borrowing a book from one of your other libraries, one of those that you did not select to be available in your Kobo's Discover page and OverDrive search search.
- Once you have checked out a book from one of these other libraries, trigger a sync on your Kobo. Assuming the book is available in the Kobo store, it should be downloaded automatically.
If you sign up for another library's card later, add it to your OverDrive account. I haven't tested whether it will be added to the Kobo device automatically. However, I do know that when I sign out of OverDrive on my Kobo and back in, all of the cards in my OverDrive account get added to the device, including the new one.

My PI last week had me look for samples in liquid nitrogen storage. We walk up and I literally ask him, “don’t I have to wear a face shield for this?” He says I’ll be okay. So I start looking for the samples and it takes me like 15 minutes to do so. Once I finish, I get a headache and my eyes are extremely dry. It’s been like 5 days since, and my eyes are still irritated and my headache persists. I’m just so angry at him. I literally asked him and he said I’d be okay. Now I went to the doc and they gave me meds and a treatment plan but wtf. The pressure of not wanting to displease this a**hole (he gets easily angry/mad) made me put my health and safety at risk. I’m just so angry. It makes me so mad that I decided to listen to this guy, he’s not a professional doctor, he’s just a regular dude that just happens to know a lot about a specific type of cells. I’m not really looking for advice or fear mongering, just needed to rant (unless it’s super important health info/treatments that I should know of). Use me as a precautionary tale for why you should not just blindly listen to your PI.

So we are staying with my inlaws and while taking a load out of the dryer I saw a piece of mouse poop. I freaked but as I'm very anxious about mice anyways I already had a load in the washer that was washed on high heat. I santized the previously washed clothes (these two loads contain most of our clothes). I take one outfit for me and my baby out of the washed clothes and dry on high heat. I was getting ready to transfer when I saw a black ball like thing. Wasn't shaped like mouse poop but I'm not sure how else to treat it. Those are our only clothes except a little bit left in the room I found the mouse droppings in and all of our blankets. I'm with my inlaws and obviously I can't be naked around them so I need clothes. And it's very cold so my baby needs to wear something. What do I do????

2025.01.20 04:09 Narrow_String_480 Broken/snapped bolt on oil pan gasket
Hi all, wanted to see if anyone had any advice or expectations on what to do moving forward from this.
Long story short, i ended up offering to replace the oil pan gasket on my dad’s 2014 f150 for him since the dealership was quoting over a grand. ended up getting a bad torque spec from a youtube video (TRQ) and one of the bolts ended up snapping. The rest of the job went fine, but there is just that one bolt on the bottom driver side of the oil pan that has the threads stuck in there, and I am assuming oil will begin to leak out of there eventually.
What should he be expecting when calling some local shops? Will they have to redo the entire job to get that bolt out of the hole? I don’t have any experience with removing snapped bolts so was just looking for some advice here.
