Sorry if this has already been asked but I’ve been wondering about this for a while. So I know smart AIs can be created by using human brains as a source for it. So my question is this. So let’s say the process is successful and a new AI is born. Do they still remember who they are and are simply wiped then reprogrammed? If so, when reaching the point of rampancy, could they in theory start remembering who they were back when they were alive and their memories start to return since the programming is wearing off?

I have a Virtual Experience Day with HSBC’s WPB department for a summer internship, focusing on strategic awareness. The day has three parts:
- AI’s to improve HSBCs operations.
- Earthquakes and their effect on HSBC’s key areas.
- Discrepancies in contractor reports.
Also, how can I stand out during the experience, especially in showing strategic thinking and commercial awareness?
Or is it generic questions they ask!. This is my first interview with any corporate and I'm nervous. How does this actually work?

2025.01.20 15:58 LawfullyNeurotic Has anyone had a positive experience using Beta-Blockers for Autism related memory issues?
Autism memory issues are one of those symptoms not many people know about. It happens to be one of my worst symptoms and I've struggled for years finding a regimen or treatment to help my memory.
I recently read that beta-blockers (a type of BP medication) being used to improve memory issues in people on the spectrum.
I found it a funny coincidence since Guanfacine (another BP medication) is also used off label for symptoms related to ASD.
I was just curious if anyone here has used a beta-blocker for this purpose and if you found the experience to be positive? I'm at the point in my life where I'm just shotgunning treatments with my doctor to find something that helps. Any feedback is helpful.

I’m 120 pages in. I like the main characters. Something seems off about Vincent. But I’m not sold on the writing. It’s a lot of telling not showing. But I guess I don’t really read this genre for top notch craft.
Anyways… does this pick up? Convince me to keep reading. I mean I probably will anyways St least this book.

 | I picked up a pair of Vigor Lumen sunglasses at Winners for $25 cad. They retail for $59.99 usd on their website. I was looking for an inexpensive pair of polarized sunglasses for golfing among other things. The quality is pretty decent. They’re light, the lenses have pretty good optical clarity with a nice rose colour and antireflective coating on the inside and polarization. I was considering the Oakley golf lens but didn’t want to spend almost $200 on them. So they allow us 2 minutes per day = 10 mins per week to use the bathroom. I went over because I’m just a human that can’t predict bathroom breaks. I know to go on breaks and lunches but I can’t control when it comes. HR states I need to submit an accommodation with signed paperwork explaining my medical condition to my doctors. I don’t have a medical condition and I explained that to hr but they still want something to prove I have a condition. How would I go about that? Without it, I can get write ups if I go over the allotted time but in order to get one it feels like they want me to make up a condition. Anyone experience something similar?
