2025.01.20 21:50 fkastarling I made a song inspired by the Mass Effect soundtrack
Hi all! I thought some of you may be curious about a song I just released called “the killing moon” which was inspired specifically by the Mass Effect 1 soundtrack. It’s a 5 minute ambient into dark drum n bass instrumental. If you like the music of this game, you’d probably like this song too. I would love to know your honest opinions on the song if you’re curious. This forum won’t let me link it here, but it can be found on any streaming platform under the name “Jack Brunót”. It’s on an album titled “8-Bit Mountain” in which each track is inspired by a certain video game. Hope y’all enjoy!

2025.01.20 21:50 Wild-Heron $43.38 Walmart Las Vegas
Walmart has the best price on Fairlife milk and also grabbed the waffles, which if you haven’t tried they are quite tasty. Individually wrapped so they make for a quick grab and go breakfast, even better warmed up briefly. One teen in braces so need the apples cut up to take to school. Wish me luck unclogging the bath drain 🤪

2025.01.20 21:50 Keokuk84 It is not our job, duty, obligation, or responsibility to assist, help, or otherwise "save" you.
Alright males, especially single males. There is a simple solution to all this dumb fucking little girl man hating horse shit. Avoid females for awhile. Act like they don't even exist. It accomplishes multiple things at once. No attention, no validation, no one willing to help, no one will to do things for them, no security, no protection, no sex, and no children.
Whatever problems she has, has more than likely, been caused by her own doing. She made her choices now let her deal with the consequences....alone.
I mean think about it a little. What do they bring to a relationship that you aren't already expected to provide? Look at all the things you've worked for, or accomplished. Look at the things you've earned and acquired. And you're willing to risk, if not outright sacrifice, all that.....and for what? Some cunt that doesn't give a shit about you? Someone that's racked up a competitive body count. Someone that "feels" she's been wronged so now it's ok to be an absolute piece of fucking dog shit to other people. Someone that has nothing but excuses, gripes, complaints, demands and no gratitude. Someone who thinks they own you.
They can bitch and run their mouths all they want, it's not your job to care. They can whine, cry, beg and pout all they want...it's not your job to care. They want to act like their tough and can do everything on their own, then back away and let them prove it.
Stop participating and start observing.

2025.01.20 21:50 acciowaves First jam session at a serious club. Very disappointed.
So I’ve been playing the drums for about 10 years, but only 2 and a half years ago did I start playing jazz.
Yesterday I went to my first jam session at one of the best clubs in my city, and I bombed.
The level was very high and I was very nervous. I play drums and all other drummers were above my level, even though I felt like in terms of technique I was up to par, but in terms of improvisational momentum and ideas, in guiding the music and complimenting and communicating with other musicians they are miles ahead of me.
I feel like I played it too safe. I wanted to be solid and just accompany, but in doing that I failed to converse with the other musicians, to compliment their solos, to propose new ideas, and so it ended up sounding very plain and boring.
All other drummers played 3 or 4 songs, I played one and then got a tap on the shoulder and was politely asked to hand over the throne to somebody else.
I feel sort of gutted and a little demotivated. I’ve been practicing really really hard. Not just on the drums, for which I practice 3 hours every day, but on top of that I transcribe solos and heads, I do ear training, I do active listening sessions, and I attend live gigs very often. Still, it wasn’t enough.
I talked to the organizer of the jam sessions and he said I’m more than welcome to come back, preferably earlier and he’ll make sure I at least get one song in, but hopefully more. So I’m planning on attending every week now.
What else do you guys think I could do? How do you recommend to deal with this situations and to get better at communicating with the music?
All advice and life stories appreciated.
TLDR: I went to my first serious jam session and sucked. Got asked to hand over the throne after one tune. I feel gutted right now since I’ve been working my ass off for 2 and a half years. Any advice?

2025.01.20 21:50 Spiritual_Being8984 Passed AT/AT/AT/AT by studying for a week
Hey everyone just wanted to share my experience here since there are a lot of different opinions on which study sources worked best and what was actually covered on the exam.
Top study sources as of 2025 CAPM: Landini practice questions (~$6 on kindle) & various FREE capm practice exams online
If I were to do this again I would: - start with watching some CAPM review videos on YouTube to get a refresher on what project management is about (I would not recommend going in completely new to PM, there are a lot of new terms to know). - Then start with the free practice questions online (I'll link below) and look up/chatGPT everything I didn't know. Just keep doing practice questions and learn as much as you can through that, and redo them at least once to cement the ideas in your brain. - Last step is do all of the Landini practice questions, note every question you got wrong that you don't fully understand and study those. You will learn more than necessary w Landini questions, but it's great review of general questions and helps build stamina for the actual full 150 question exam.
My experience before studying: I took an intro project management course in college around 4 years ago that gave me background on the topics and familiarity w the waterfall terms (still had to study since I forgot most of it). I have the PSM I (Professional Scrum Master certification from Scrum.org) already so I know agile topics pretty well and did not study it further. I have no business analysis background.
My experience studying: While looking up the most popular CAPM advice on here, I was told the exam based on the 6th edition PMBOK was very different from today's 7th edition exam. It's true, I took a practice exam on Simplilearn which I failed miserably at (50%) because it was based on the 6th edition (meaning the questions specifically asked for inputs, outputs, tools & techniques for every process group). Luckily the 7th edition is more concept based, which may sound unspecific, but it means you really only need to know the processes and their steps in the Planning Phase (ie planning scope, planning schedule, planning risk, planning resources). Ricardo Vargas has some good diagrams on the process groups based on the 6th edition online for free download. Alvin the PM on YouTube also has short explanations of the process groups on his website (https://www.alvinthepm.com/guide-to-knowledge-areas/).
FREE PRACTICE QUESTIONS: - https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLECUE3N79UzOQfyqRMt4i6-cofugGnQM7 (Alvin the PM's YouTube playlist of review questions w explanations, great for foundational review) - https://capmpracticetest.com/ 80 Qs - https://pmlearning.org/capm/practice-exam 40 Qs - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gwPjidwEWik&ab_channel=AndrewRamdayal 50 Qs (Andrew Ramdayal has a TIA CAPM Exam course that a lot of ppl vouch for, I didn't take it but found his free practice video here helpful)
Some ppl on here advised using Pocket Prep questions for review since they're harder than the actual exam and u get 1000+ questions. I made the mistake of giving into the hype and bought a month of membership w one of the referral discount codes floating around for a total of ~$17. HUGE MISTAKE!!!!! It was a total waste of money bc (1) the questions were sooo long, like a whole paragraph of "context" that wasn't even related to the question and (2) the questions were focused on topics that were too specific and would never show up on the actual exam. I only studied 130 questions (70% correct) bc I felt like I had to get my money's worth, but it just gave me a headache and made me feel like I didn't understand anything (lowkey made me scared I was gonna fail the exam 2 days before the exam).
Landini Practice Questions: After using Pocket Prep for 2 days, I already felt that the questions were undoing all of my progress and confidence, so I looked up some better practice questions for cheap and found Landini's were said to be closest to the exam. It's true kinda. His questions go way more in depth than necessary (like questions on specific models/laws/diagrams that weren't on the exam). But it's all good review imo. I finished doing/ reviewing all 8 practice sets in 2 days (each set has 50 Qs, total of 400 Qs). In hindsight, I think if u just studied w these questions and understood the material, u would pass the exam. Don't have the link, but it's on Amazon (kindle edition) for $6.
All in all, I would review project management concepts (especially project planning), take as many free practice questions as possible, and end your review w Landini's questions. I honestly don't know which online courses are best for the course requirement since I just used the one I took in college from years ago to fulfill it. I would go w the cheapest option available since it's really not that important compared to practicing questions which help you learn way quicker.
Lastly, here are topics from the exam that stuck out to me that you should know: - Only formulas used were Schedule & Cost Variance (SV = Earned Value - Planned Value & CV = Earned Value - Actual Cost) and Schedule & Cost Performance Index (SPI = EV/PV & CPI = EV/AC) - Only model/law was Tuckman's Ladder (form, storm, norm etc) - A lot of business analysis like requirements gathering steps and situations - Change management (ie next steps when getting a change request at different project phases) - Risk management (ie next steps when escalating a risk occurrence) - Know what the critical path and float are - Selecting a project approach (predictive vs agile) - Artifact purpose - Which artifacts help in specific phases - Responsibilities for PM vs Project Sponsor vs Business Analyst
I also wanted to note, I had a weird question on a network diagram that wanted me to find the critical path, but there were no selection options. I'm assuming it was one of those experimental ungraded questions and the UI wasn't tested well since I literally could not do anything to answer the question (there was only the diagram and question on the screen). If you run into a similar problem, just skip the question! I wasted 10 minutes talking w the exam proctor trying to figure out what I'm supposed to do (the proctor would leave the chat and not get back to me for several minutes), but they don't know anything except how to troubleshoot in case your exam freezes.
All the luck to everyone studying for their own exams!!!

2025.01.20 21:50 groundpigeon Question about identifying chems for a precursor
Hello,
The issue I am running into is I want to start developing the precursor myself for the compound I have been making (5F-ADB) and synthesizing that as well. I just am unclear on what compounds go into the specific precursor I need.
The compound is
Methyl (S)-2-(1H-indazole-3-carboxamido)-3,3-dimethylbutanoate
Case number:
cas# 2709672-58-0
Any idea on what the precursors may be or how I could go about figuring that out? Thanks
