It is grammatically correct to use a comma before "and" (and other coordinating conjunctions such as "but", "or", "nor") only when it splits two independent clauses (i.e. if you remove the "and" you will be left with two complete sentences), or if you're using it as an Oxford comma. There are three ways that "and" can be used in a sentence: Use a comma before and when connecting two independent clauses. Placing a comma before the and that precedes the last item in a list of three or more items is optional. The comma before and in a list is called the Oxford comma or serial comma. Some style guides call for using it, while others call for leaving it out. Traditionally in English, when spelling aloud, any letter that could also be used as a word in itself ("A", "I", and "O") was referred to by the Latin expression per se ('by itself'), as in "per se A" or "A per se A".[3] [4] [5] The character &, when used by itself as opposed to more extended forms such as &c., was similarly referred to as "and per se and". Shortening “and” to ‘n’ is the most technically correct, as it indicates that both the “a” and “d” are being omitted. However, because this omission is colloquial, you can choose to place the apostrophe before or after instead. Either ‘n or n’ or ‘n’ would be acceptable in informal writing. I noticed my sump pump kept running when I was about to do a load of laundry and with this really cold Midwest weather, I have some frozen ice blockage. I think my current sump pump has a check valve in it, not allowing any excess water to drain back into the pit. I can wait till the temps warm back up to do laundry but curious if I can remove the valve, if one exists.

Does anyone else notice when others about having multiples and the stress/overwhelm that multiples comes with, the usual rhetoric is "you just get through it"? I find whenever I give my explanation for being OAD as "I don't want to deal with the overwhelming stimulation and stress of having more than one" (I know I'm not suited to it) the typical reply is something along the lines of "you just do it/the energy just comes to you/you don't even realise you're stressed/you go through the motions" hmmmm no thank you, I don't want to "just get through" the day, I want to be present and enjoy as much of every minute of every day with my son as I can. My mental health is exceptionally important to me and deeply linked to how good i am as a Mom. I want to thrive not survive !!

Trying to figure out if this is just severe dry skin or athletes foot. I have no itch anywhere except in between my toe (which I suspect might be athletes foot) but the rest of my foot is really cracked. I even got a little cut by the bottom of my pinky toe.
I have been using moisturizer and foot scrubber to get the skin off but it always comes back rampantly. Also, unsure if this is relevant but this foot is always colder than my other foot. Any help and insight is greatly appreciated!

After soaking in water for a couple of minutes, I have a Reed that splits a bit. It looks totally normal before soaking and also after playing for a couple of minutes. Should I worry about it? It’s currently my only Reed but I have more on the way in a few weeks. Hoping to get through those weeks with this one. Any tips for making it not do this?
