I am scheduled for RIght Hip Replacement Feb 3rd. I was told to quit taking nsaids (Meloxicam) 10 days prior to surgery. I can barely handle the pain now ! Has anyone been prescribed different pain meds before surgery?

Hi everyone,
I’m currently waiting for the final round of interviews (assessment center) for the SWE role at FDM Group in Toronto, Canada, and I’m trying to get some clarity about the training period. Specifically, is the training period remote, in-person, or hybrid in 2025?
I’m guessing that during COVID, the training was remote, but I’m curious about the current setup in 2025, specifically for the Toronto, Canada location. If anyone has recent experience with the training period for SWE at FDM Group, I’d greatly appreciate your insights.
Basically, I’m curious if someone happens to be in another country only during the training period, would that cause any issues, given that the actual placement would of course require being on-site?

Am I wrong for not wanting certain people to hold my baby?
Hi, I’ve never done this before so bear with me. I am a 16 year old girl with a 2 month old baby, my parents have been very supportive but I do not want my aunt to hold my baby. Some backstory: My parents are very close with their family and super family oriented. At the hospital while I was in labor my aunt showed up, after my parents and boyfriends parents came in the room, she came in for 5 seconds to say hi she did not come near me or the baby but it did put me off a bit because she barged in without being invited and we aren’t all that close. I was going to a restaurant with 2 of my other aunts, mom sister and boyfriend and she texted me this long paragraph about how she wanted to come, and then showed up. The whole time she was leaning over my sister’s food, and looking at the baby. She then asked to hold her, I said not right now she just ate and is sleeping, 20 minutes after that I was going to use the bathroom and my sister wanted to come with the baby, I said okay get her. My mom then chimed in and said why don’t you leave her here with us and ( aunt) can hold the baby. I said no, so we proceeded to go to the bathroom, and I had my sister walk back first. I exit the bathroom to see my sister almost running back at me and saying they are trying to pressure me into holding the baby. My sister is 13, and my boyfriend was in the bathroom so I saw that as trying to force the weakest( metaphor) one into saying yes. After that my mom mentioned it one more time i said no. My mom was short with me in the car. A couple weeks later, it was christmas eve and I was going to my other aunt’s house with my cousins( dad’s side) I get there and I hear that my aunt, we will call her lisa, is coming. My cousin who was there asked if lisa had ever hold the baby I said no, and she said okay she will hold her and we can take pictures. I avoided it and went to the room to feed her( breastfed) and i’m feeding her and Lisa barges in after i said stop im feeding the baby and my sister said stop too she goes no it’s fine im grabbing my coat. It was not fine with me but then I finished feeding her and my cousin kept chiming in about lisa holding the baby. I almost had an anxiety attack. I did manage to avoid it though. It was time to go, and we go home. She was supposed to come over on Christmas but didn’t thankfully. 3 weeks after that my sister had a birthday party, I was not excited. She shows up, im sitting on the couch with her in her wrap, she doesn’t say anything party’s going well until I bring my cousin into the room to hold the baby, she’s 7 and my older cousin comes in to take pictures, Lisa follows us down the hall and asks to hold the baby. I say not right now and she runs out of the house crying?? I did mention that we aren’t all that close so I really wasn’t understanding the big deal but it turned into a blowout fight with my mom, and everyone at the party wanted me to say sorry. I was not sorry, it was my child, my choice, but I wanted to keep the peace so I had my cousin right a message from me to lisa saying sorry. She left me on read. My other aunt texted me saying i’m so happy you said sorry to lisa, maybe you can invite her over tomorrow. I said school was starting( i had a leave for labor) and I couldn’t, she said maybe for dinner, I said i was going to my boyfriends. Then the next day she comes over to get her package, and she texts my sister to come out, and she rants about being too embarrassed to go inside. Honestly I would be embarrassed to as a grown woman doing all that but thats my perspective. For the record, a huge part of this is how she wicked smells like smoke and I just don’t feel comfortable and don’t see the need for her to hold my baby even if she showered( it still lingers anyway because she smokes so much) My parents are still pressuring me about it, and I try to avoid it as much as possible. I wouldn’t even be asking but my mom is “hurt” and thinks I shouldn’t be hurting other people’s feelings, and I should put mine aside. I don’t believe that because i’m her mom but I wan’t insight. Am I wrong?
Theres a bit more to the story, I tried to write as much as possible while keeping it as short as possible. I really am not close with her and can’t see why it’s such a big deal.

I have a lovely 15 1/2 year old female english springer spaniel. She struggles with lame hips, arthritis, separation anxiety, and bad hearing. She has good eyesight, loves human food, going on adventures with me (unless it is cold), and kisses/cuddles.
I was giving her cbd oil for her arthritis but she still seemed stiff and brought her to the vet. I also asked the vet about quality of life and if she thought the dog should be put down. Even though she agreed the dog is in pain she thought she still had some vitality left and it was not the time to euthanize the dog.
Here’s my dilemma: since putting her on pain meds and anti-anxiety meds (carpofren, gabapentin & prozac) I’m concerned. My dog was already a picky eater and her meds have made that worse. She still eats some food every day but I fear she is losing too much weight. Because she’s under-eating it seems it’s reducing her energy levels greatly. She doesn’t seem to want to walk, partly because she probably doesn’t have the energy to. But if I don’t walk her I can barely get her to eat anything. She seems to be more comfortable but I’m unsure if the dosage is correct - i think she needs a higher dose of pain meds but I worry it will make her more lethargic, not hungry, and unbalanced.
I feel bad forcing her to walk when she doesn’t want to but I also feel terrible allowing her to sleep too much (she needs to go to the bathroom). I have already called the vet and told them about my concerns about her continuing to rapidly lose weight. I’m worried we are not able to fully assess the success/effects of meds because of malnutrition. In the meantime, what should I do???
More info: this is my parents dog. She is a childhood pet for me. My parents live in an area that’s very cold and have a history of neglecting animals. I brought her to florida with me so wouldn’t have suffer and in hopes that her remaining time here she would be comfortable/well loved. I am trying my best so please be kind

Another image can help here. Think of a kite surfer racing across the water. Harnessed to a large, powerful kite, he is being whisked forward by a power greater than his own. He, too, is anchored, but to the sky above, not the seabed below! Similarly, the gift of hope keeps you anchored to heaven. And just as the kite surfer is propelled forward, so, too, is your hope in heaven moving you forward.
Yes, the love of God is stable and unchanging like a rock, but it is also active and dynamic like the wind. It keeps you peaceful and calm even as it breathes life into you and propels you forward. It keeps you rooted in the eternal unchanging truths of the gospel even as it energizes you and moves you ever closer toward the perfect joy of heaven.
You may feel today that you need to be anchored safely to the Lord as storms rage around you. Or you may need a fresh wind from the Spirit to enliven you and help you get unstuck. Or you may need a mixture of both. Whatever your situation and whatever your need, keep your heart fixed on the Lord! Place your hope in his promises, because hope doesn’t disappoint (Romans 5:5)!
