My landlord had attempted to send me a 5 day notice by sending someone to serve it. I wasn’t home when the person arrived to do so and I wasn’t informed that this was happening. I am late on rent which I had discussed with her I was working on getting to her. The landlord attempted call me while I was out and unable to answer the phone and left a VM claim there was emergency maintenance needed on the unit below me and that they needed immediate access to my unit. There had been no leak or water coming from my unit, and said “don’t worry it’s not a 5 day notice or eviction or anything like that, just come outside and talk to the guy” which was very strange. The next day, I walked by the back door of my apartment on the inside to find an envelope pushed under my door with a notice that was marked 3 days earlier. At this point, I still was not told that I was going to be given a notice. I messaged her and told her that this was not the proper way to receive a notice and that I wasn’t aware this was happening (in Chicago it needs to be hand delivered or sent by certified mail or left to a resident 13 or older) which was when I found out she had sent someone in the first place to attempt to deliver it to me. I had discussed with her via text that if she would like to re send, that she do so and to let me know so I could be around to accept it, but I also said that there was only a couple months left on lease and that I had every intention of paying and was working on it. She did not reply. About a week later I get a piece of certified mail that had been delivered 2 days before I checked my mail box only to see that it had already been signed for not by me. I called the post office to get info on how this was signed for, and they are conducting an investigation. In Chicago a landlord can sign for a certified mail document on behalf of a tenant but must notify the tenant that this had happened. I never heard from her. I would only have 2 days left on the move out notice if I accept it as is. Do I have anything to stand on here or do I have to accept the move out notice as is? It’s a holiday weekend so I likely won’t get info from usps until after the notice would be over.

BoingBoing reported on the AI dungeon master programme last week, and since then a bunch of outlets have covered it, so you probably know what this is referencing - a graduate researcher tailored a ChatGPT agent to function as a DM for games of DnD. I've written an article about it that takes a slightly different tack - looking a lot more closely at what was actually achieved in the research, and the unanswered questions that it leaves behind.
My personal stance on AI tech: 1. It's powerful and flexible technology, but it's not actually "intelligent". 2. All the big models use copyrighted content without proper authorisation, and as a writer I have a professional interest in that not being normalised. 3. Now that people can make it, they will keep making it. 4. Once the venture capitalists run out of cash to throw at it, its future will depend on it being a profitable tool, which I don't consider an open and shut question.
As it's AI some people will think I'm too harsh on it and some people think I'm too soft - if you do, please read the article before commenting (or downvoting!), I may say something in there that explains where I'm coming from.

Hi, I am a 19 year old female with autism and depression. I have been taking medication for my depression for about two years now. Recently I have started becoming incontinent, mainly at night when sleeping but also in the form of leaking during the day. This started happening about 3 weeks ago and it's only getting worse. At first I thought it my be my medication but i have been taking them for a long time an never had issues with them. I went to the doctor but he wasn't helpfull, said he couldn't find a cause and I don't think he took me seriously. Could this problem be mental? If someone has experience with autism/depression related incontinence please let me know, I could use some advice.

We have a 1.5yr old female tortie who we've had since she was only a month old, she's never been around other cats before. A month ago we brought home a new kitten, another female tortie who is 3 months old. We kept them separated for 3 weeks, only seeing each other through a screen door we put up between the kitten's base camp and the rest of house. It was a rough start, but they both became very comfortable with each other, and they seem to love playing with each other and sitting together only through the screen.
About a week ago we started giving them supervised time together face to face. We've been doing about an hour of this a day, and every time they're together the same thing seems to be happening. Our resident cat gets scared and stays in one corner of the house while our kitten runs wild. We are playing with them the whole time even though our resident cat doesn't really want to engage with us while the kitten is out. Whenever our kitten approaches her, she either runs away or hisses. Our kitten is very energetic of course and will try to tackle or chase her which she hates. They have had a few moments of chasing eachother around but it always ends in our resident cat stopping and hissing. I just feel like we're not seeing much progress with our resident cat becoming more brave and curious to play with the kitten, and she doesn't seem to want anything to do with her. But as soon as the kitten is back in her base camp behind the screen, they're back to playing and sleeping with eachother.
Is it going to get better with time or do we need to change how we're doing things?
