Hi all,
I was wondering how smart and extensive Loxone's energy management system is.
There are several functions that are very interesting but can they all be combined at the same time?
We have an EV and I plan to put solar panels and a home battery.
In belgium, where I live, as a consumer you have to pay more according to how much you load the grid through your peak consumption (biggest peak for 15min determines your tariff for the month)
Loxone has a peak load manager there so it can come in very handy.
Furthermore, the spot price manager is also very interesting in case of dynamic tariffs.
In summer, it seems fairly simple to me: use as much solar power as possible during the day and charge the battery for use in the evening and at night. In the morning, ideally a little bit of energy should be left on the battery for morning consumption before the sun comes out
In winter, in turn, it is convenient if the home battery and the EV charge at night on the off-peak tariff (and during high consumption also during the day if possible on low tariff, does loxone then learn based on your usage if this is necessary or not?)
Can Loxone take this into account all at once? How much of this do you have to program yourself and how much is done automatically by software? Can it also take into account the weather forecasts and solar production for the next day (cloudy in summer or sunny in winter)? To what extent does it learn your specific profile (when are the moments of high consumption and not)?
I am very interested in energy managment but definitely not a hero in all that is programming. so how easy is programming (once by a professional or do you often have to tweak and fine tune it?)

Hi guys, anyone had the same experience where you applied for DTV as digital nomad/remote worker but received a Non-Immigrant B Visa instead? I received email of Visa approved, I was exhilarated, but upon further inspection, I noticed that the Visa is only valid for a year, that is where I checked thru the email again and spotted that my Visa type is a Non-Immigrant B Visa.
Is this part of the process where we use Non-Immigrant B while waiting for approval of DTV? Or is this their way of saying that they reject my DTV application and gave me this as consolation?

It happened this night. It was just so real and detailed.
We were walking together, and she was leaning her head on my right arm, hugging me.
She was like shorter than me, with long black hair and she had green eyes.
Then I remember a lot of "scenes" of her coming to me and giving me a hug. Like she was happy and smiling all the time. I could feel that she actually loved me. And I loved her too, like I could feel that somehow.
It was one of those dreams where you actually believe it's real. God, I wish it was.

2025.01.21 10:51 No_Refrigerator_7841 Does dream job slipping away mean I should find another workplace?
So to start off I understand that there is not such thing as a dream job but until now this one I very much liked. When at work I felt like time flew and enjoyed myself a lot sometimes working on the weekends not because I had to but because I was eager to find the solution of the problem.
I am 26. I have been working as a Data Scientist for this company for 3 years. When I started I loved the job, the coworkers and the projects I was involved in I learned new stuff each day but also was able to contribute a ton despite being young. Now 3 years later the coworkers and managers I loved to work with left and no one was hired in their place which led to more work and me working in a team of 1 with no one to bounce ideas back with.
I don't mind working hard what I mind is - now it seems the job has shifted from a data scientist to a software developer I have to do front end and back end work and this is not something I want. I can do the weekly tasks just fine the thing is if I continue like this in 5 years time I will have a different skillset compared to what I planned and what I believe I can be exceptional at. I will just be ok but I don't want just ok - That this is why I carefully chose this particular job that had to develop particular skills.
Now if I choose to stay I will stay and just do fine but do I want that - no. My only issue is that I am still disillusioned to believe the old projects will return realistically they won't and that I might not be able to find a job which would challenge and make me grow the same way this job did at the beginning.

Hello guys, this is in addition to a previous question about e-mail archival. Although both questions relate to the same task, I think it makes sense to present them separately.
I'm presently compiling a very large e-mail archive from multiple sources. I will be using maildir format, meaning that each message presents as a separate text file. I presently have well over 100,000 messages with many source files still to go , and I'm estimating that, even after deduping and despamming, the archive will comprise about 150,000 messages.
I'd prefer to have all the files in the same directory, but I'm aware that many people advise reducing file counts. I can set up the hard disk any way I want, with my choice of format and directory structure.
How would you recommend arranging things?

I (31 f) and my boyfriend (36 m) have been together 1.5 years and we don’t have as much sex as I thought we would. In my past relationship he wouldn’t get off me as soon as he had the chance and I loved it. I have expressed to my current boyfriend I love foreplay and love when he goes down on me.
