Hi guys! I’m 16 and I’m getting my first hamster soon after almost three years of begging my parents and wanting one since I was 6 years old. I’ve already got the cage and everything set up :-)
However, I have a question. I’ve heard the best way to get a hamster to settle down in their new home is to pretty much leave it mostly alone for a week so it can get familiar with the surroundings.
So, I was wondering, since I live in two different houses, would that be a problem? If it needs a week to settle down and then finally gets familiar and suddenly I’m transporting it to a different house with a new cage. Could my hamster possibly get stressed? Especially if done repeatedly, or would it get used to it? :-(

Recipe: Cloudberry Amazake Yogurt
Step 1: Make Cloudberry Amazake
Combine the following in a vacuum bag:
Koji Rice: 150 g
Coconut milk: 125 g
Cloudberry purée: 75 g
Sous vide the mixture at 60°C for 8 hours.
Step 2: Ferment into Yogurt
Blend together:
Cloudberry amazake: 250 g
Coconut milk: 550 g
Yogurt starter (from a previous batch): 50 g
Incubate in a yogurt maker or any incubator set at 45°C for 8 hours.
Check the pH at the end of fermentation. The yogurt is ready when the pH is around 4.5.

LinkedIn has gotten to the point where it is literally filling my notifications with absolutely useless stuff. People reacting to posts, how many views I got, etc. I know a lot of social media do this anyway to make you stay or interact with the app, but LinkedIn is too much.
6 notifications this morning on pushing me to get verified, impressions from last week, suggestions on who to follow??? I really wish social media went back to sending notifications when people actually interacted with YOU bc that's the only thing people care about. If I want anything else, I can look for it myself.
I tried to turn it off via settings already but a lot of them seem to push through anyway. Any advice or do I just accept it?

I (33F) am currently living with my partner and two children. My younger brother (30M) recently had a milestone birthday, and my parents decided to throw him a surprise party. Normally, I’d be all for it, but here’s where things get complicated.
A week before the event, my mom casually mentions that they’ve planned the surprise party at my house because it's more spacious and centrally located for everyone else. This was the first I’d heard of it, and they hadn’t asked for my permission beforehand. I was immediately overwhelmed because my partner has been recovering from surgery, and our house is hardly in a state for hosting.
I told my mom that hosting wasn’t possible, and suggested a few alternative venues. She got upset and said everything was already arranged and changing locations last minute would be too complicated. Feeling cornered, I stood my ground and said they needed to relocate the party or scale it down.
The fallout was immediate. My brother, who was accidentally clued in, called me selfish for not accommodating the family on his special day. My parents accused me of ruining what could have been a perfect family gathering. In the end, they hastily rearranged the event at a cousin’s place, but the atmosphere was strained, and several relatives made passive-aggressive comments about my absence.
I feel terrible for missing the party and causing such a commotion but also frustrated that my boundaries were disregarded. AITA for not hosting the party at my house and choosing to skip it altogether?
