2025.01.22 00:37 liftinglagrange Has anyone gotten a bird for their bird and it did NOT go well?
I have a 2 year old male cockatiel. He is very attached to me which is lovely at times and very difficult at other times. Even though I spend a ton of time with him, he yells a lot and I feel like he is often bored.
I’m thinking about getting a second bird (likely another cockatiel) for both his benefit and mine. I’de love for him to have a friend to occupy him while I’m working during the day (he is with me while I work but he is bored and yells). I’de love to be able to leave the house for a while without stressing out about how much he is stressing out.
I am hoping that getting a second cockatiel will help with all of this and make my life, and his, easier. That is the best case scenario. BUT the worst case is that he and the new cockatiel don’t care about each other or, worse, hate each other. Then I’ll just end up doubling all the problems I’m hopping the new bird would fix.
So, is it pretty much a given that two cockatiels will eventually become friends (I’ve heard I should get another male)? Or, have any of you been in this situation only to have it backfire and end up with two birds that don’t get along and make your life harder than when you had one bird?

Looking for some advice here... my husband I got married a few months ago. He's typically a responsive person (calls, texts) but he works a pretty labor intensive job. Sometimes he falls asleep on the couch and doesn't answer his mom's calls or texts for a few hours, not days, hours. Its always the same day. I totally get it if he hadn't talked to her in days or weeks but it feels a little insane. When he doesn't she calls or texts me (in kind of a rude way) asking about why her son isn't being responsive. How do I get her to stop this behavior?

I’ve made a simple equation: ( SEK / month ) X 2.5 = ( USD / year )
Common range: 20,000 SEK X 2.5 = 50,000 USD 30,000 SEK X 2.5 = 75,000 USD 40,000 SEK X 2.5 = 100,000 USD 50,000 SEK X 2.5 = 125,000 USD 60,000 SEK X 2.5 = 150,000 USD 70,000 SEK X 2.5 = 175,000 USD
I actually think this is a pretty fair conversion based on national statistics and a collection of personal stories shared online. It’s not perfect, but seems like a pretty good approximation in reality.

 | Hello! I'm refinishing a 1960's burled walnut Lowboy MCM dresser from Century Furniture that has these inset campaign style brass pulls. Two of the drawers are missing their pulls and I cannot, for the life of me, find anyone who sells drawer pulls that match the originals for this piece. Does anyone know where I could look to find or inquire about these pulls? I did see that they were manufactured by Keeler Brass Company but, Ive tried reaching out to them several times to no avail. I've also tried including this info in my searches and I'm still getting zilch.
