I’ve managed to calm my IBS a lot by doing low FODMAP but I am still struggling a lot with gas and trapped wind which builds up pressure in my rectum. Good morning, I had a long weekend this weekend due to MLK day and our company has a policy where if you call out the day before or after a holiday, you don’t get the holiday paid. Over the weekend, I got friend dumped, and I feel like garbage. I’ve been on and off crying for the last 36 hours, and as dramatic as it sounds it is something I genuinely cannot control (and apparently neither can my meds). It feels like someone died, and my chest physically hurts. I don’t feel comfortable telling my manager I need a mental health day, and I don’t know if that’s a valid excuse to need to leave early. I hate lying, but it’s a remote environment with agency placement so I also feel ridiculous being this nervous over basically shooting my manager a messenger in Microsoft teams. What’s a good, no questions asked excuse to leave early that doesn’t lead to later follow up questions?
