Male (sixties), raped in my forties by two men and until recently, very damaged by the event mentally. This post is for all the men out there including the one I'm currently chatting with regarding being raped and the guilt that so many of us deal with from the assault. Long after the physical pain and mental anguish began to fade, the guilt stuck around. I like many here didn't put up a fight. I just did what they told me to do as I was severely overpowered and just wanted to be alive when it was over. After the first man watched his friend finish in me they swapped places so I could be humiliated again as I was watched once more. After I had satisfied the second man they had me take care of myself as they both watched me. I've since found that this is a common tactic used by rapists against their victims. . I didn't want to be assaulted or shamed by the two strangers. I never asked for it and I wasn't doing anything that would make anyone think it was something I desired. When it all began I kept asking for it to stop which they ignored and several times during it all, demanded that I beg for it. I didn't say a word until things started to become violent. Then I began asking them to rape me. . I can't speak for anyone here but myself. Other than the physical enjoyment both my rapists received, they were very much playing a psychological game that they enjoyed as much, if not more than the sex. Again, I've found this to be a common tactic used to simply break you so they can feel both mentally and physically superior. . Only you know how badly you 'didn't' want to be raped. You did what you felt you needed to do at the time to ensure your safety. I'm no therapist but I have found that talking about it has helped me immensely and that there are many here willing to lend an ear so to speak. I wish I had a map for everyone in pain as to how to leave the hell hole you might be in but I don't. I have found that writing about it here and speaking to any empathetic individual willing to listen has been a huge help. . Peace and fight the good fight

I am 32F and my bf is 46M. After knowing each other for a year, we dated for 6 months so we've known each other for a total of 1.5 years. I love my bf very much and we talked about how to plan our future life together, but after knowing his financial situation, I'm very insecure and makes me wonder if we should still be together.
For me, I don't have much but I'm building my career and I'm in my thirties. I save as much as I can and although I'm not good at investing, I do as much research as possible, and I think I'll be able to have some retirement money and hopefully buy a small place to live as long as I keep working. I have been struggling throughout the years, I don't have any support, I'm on my own and it has been very hard for me.
My bf currently has an average paying job, but since he's already 46 I don't know how long he'll be able to keep the job. If he is forced to change jobs, he will probably get a low paying job because his job skills aren't desirable and because of his age. About his financial situation, his savings is only about $20,000 USD, he has no house, and he doesn't have any investments. I'm really shocked because he's already in his forties and this is all he has. He doesn't understand anything about personal finance and seems to struggle with saving money.
He keeps saying that he'll take care of me and don't worry. But he hasn't given me any concrete plans on how he will change and I feel it will still be like this a few years later. I'm worried if we really plan to be together, all the financial burden will be on me eventually because I'm younger and it's obvious I have more potential to earn money and save. I worry about our retirement money, buying a house, and how we gonna have kids, but he keeps saying that eventually we’ll figure it out.
TL;DR I love my bf very much but his financial situation is really bad. We both don't have much but it feels like I might be the breadwinner in the future if we stay together. I don't want that because I expect a man to be financially responsible. I'm about to start a new job and relocate very far from him so I need advice what I should do about this relationship. If I want to keep it how do I help him?

 | We are working towards a Bathroom reno. On our 2nd floor, small bathroom. Only full bathroom in the home. Not in love with the existing glass block look but it matches the home age overall, contractor has suggested we can... 1) replace grout and clean up 2) remove the vent, add 4 blocks where vent used to be, bring the height up on set of blocks and tile above and regrout 3) remove all the blocks and place vinyl frosted window 4) cover up completely and tile over(no window or natural light in main bathroom) Our discussion has centered on insulation, longevity expectations, appearance, etc. either way we will at least remove the vent. Planning to add subway tiles and dark grout around the rest of the tub. Any preference for the ideas? 1) costs the least and 3) costs the most We are going to be retiling with white subway tile to the ceiling as it currently is and darker grout in the shower, new fixtures and a new updated ceiling fan. I am a black RN that is staff on a new predominantly white unit, I’ve already received feedback of not engaging with my peers and just a lot of nitpicking and passive aggressiveness since I started. There is a very clear lack of nurses who look like me and the ones who do all have the same feedback. I’ve worked on other predominantly white units as nursing and my specialty is predominantly white and have not had these issues. I get the usual people think I’m this and that before getting to know me, but knowing how strict travel contracts are I’m nervous that if I don’t mesh well with units it will overshadow my work. Idk has this been anyone’s experience? Will I still be stuck in unit politics?
