2025.01.22 00:05 Ok-Manufacturer5890 D-Tap dummy battery
Hello,
Have a bit of a quandary, putting together my rig and for some reason Smallrig don't list their v-mount batteries here in Australia, so I picked up a Neewer one which I've been using the USB-c to charge things / recharge the battery for the past week whilst I waited on the gear from Smallrig to arrive.
Today my D-Tap dummy battery turned up with a few other Smallrig parts, but I'm not getting any power to the camera with it.
I have a different style of dummy battery at home and that's been fine for about five years, but that's mains powered and I wanted to use the D-Tap on the battery to power the camera.
Unfortunately I've nothing else that uses D-Tap power, so I can't verify if it'd be the dummy battery or the neewer battery that's at fault here. The battery display shows no power draw when the dummy battery is connected and camera powered on, making me suspect the dummy battery, but does anyone have any advice on a way to check?

2025.01.22 00:05 ktgoodie Post-op calories and starvation mode?
This might be a dumb question, but I'm just trying to calm some of my anxiety as I'm still in the process of getting everything approved for the surgery. (I added a pre-op flair because I'm pre-op so if I need to change it to post-op I will!)
Post-surgery while you're following the liquid diet, I know the main goals are protein snd water, right? It sounds like from what I've read that the number of calories you'll actually be taking in is super low. I'm just wondering how low is too low? I've always heard about your body going into starvation mode and how it's a bad thing, like don't we need an actual amount of calories just to survive?
This sounds dumb when I actually type it out but I guess I'm just hoping somebody could talk me through this? The number of calories you were taking in post-op and why it isn't a bad thing/why it doesn't matter as long as you're focusing on water and protein? I know that the most weight loss happens during the first year so I wonder if there's no amount too low? But don't we need calories to survive? I just don't want to end up starving myself to an unhealthy extent, I guess? Sorry if this is a silly question!!

Before, the reason that an Air Canada flight was delayed was publicly viewable. Now, it says "Customers on this flight may refer to email, SMS notifications, and boarding gate announcements for more information on this delay." Why did they change it in this manner? Why could everyone view the reason before, but now only passengers can?

2025.01.22 00:05 Sufficient_Path_7877 I just took my IUD out today after almost 20 years of hormonal BC. I’ve been having so many symptoms I’m hoping clear up, what has your experience been like after going off bc?
I’m a 35 F and finally made the decision to remove my IUD and stay off hormonal BC. I’ve been on the pill since I was 18 and then switched to the mirena iud in 2018. I’ve been experiencing body aches, swelling, bloating, brain fog like crazy, irritability, mood swings and the worst fatigue but no ability to fall asleep. And let’s not forget the 30lbs weight gain over the last 3 years I can’t lose no matter what (I life weights, do Solidcore and cardio, I live in a calorie deficit and have even tried ozempic and NOTHING budged the weight. My thyroid is fine)
Doctors have been telling me it’s not my BC because there’s no evidence linking the iud to any of these side effects. I finally found an NP today who was on my side and was happy to remove it.
If you’re willing, I’d love to hear your experience in the short and long term transitioning off hormonal BC. TIA ❤️
