before i start, allow me to state that i’m referring to a specific subset of people online and in this subreddit. i understand that many of us don’t have financial means, we don’t have the resources, we don’t know how to organize, and a lot of us are just scared but i would prefer it if we admitted all these things and worked together for solutions rather than feigning confidence.
the downfall of the us will not result in a socialist paradise with healthcare and elon musk’s head on a pike. i do not know how to tell yall this but you do not want to live through a societal collapse.
“but we’re marxists/anarchists” the downfall of the united states as we know it will not come from marxist revolution but from fascism. this aside, what do you plan to do in the event the of high unemployment and inflation, civil conflict or even war, famine or just lack of access to food? are you organizing? and i mean organizing, not just starting a telegram group chat with your friends who share your ideas. do you have people who understand the law on your side? do you have people who can navigate political and legal spheres? do you have access to resources, aid, and financial supports? do you have a system in place to get people these resources and financial support that doesn’t rely on social media run by the two wealthiest men on earth? equally as important— do you have people who can and are willing to fight? do you have people who are willing to risk their safety and comfort? are you willing to collaborate with people you disagree with? not just people in leftist circles who you disagree with, i mean liberals and conservatives willing to fight against the rise of fascism. you will need people of all backgrounds and beliefs on your fuckin side whether you want to admit it or not.
so many of you talk so big, but what do you plan to do other than make memes online?

 | Adopted the Cricket about eight months ago and was told he was a “three year old border collie mix“. My old dog passed away 💔 and I thought maybe he and I could keep each other company and have adventures together. I know not everyone has the right lifestyle for this type of companion but I’m very active. My vet says he’s actually about two right now. He is energetic, but not unreasonably so, smart as a whip, learns things very easily, and absolutely LOVES life outside the clink. His theme song is “everything is awesome!“ At the shelter, he had to be medicated twice a day because he would just jump 5 feet in the air all day long. He’s really down for any adventure, absolutely loves other dogs and believe it or not kids! We are still working on our manners, but that’s to be expected with a teenager. So there’s this person that my gf used to be friends with (I’ll just call them M)and even lived with at one time for school, and they were good friends. However, they had multiple falling outs and after the last one they completely stopped talking since. I’m pretty sure the reasoning for the last one was because my gf was also friends with a few of M’s relatives at the time too, and they invited her over for a holiday. M was ofc invited but they didn’t go cause of work or something, but they didn’t know that my gf was also invited, so to them it looked like she just showed up to their relative’s house unnanounced, and they didn’t like that. Long story short, M texted my gf saying it wasn’t cool, then both my gf and M’s relatives explained to them that she was invited and that there was no reason to be mad, and M just never texted after that. Idk why. But regardless, they fell out after that, unless something else happened that I don’t know of but I don’t believe so.
Fast forward to either Soring 2024, they still don’t talk, and while I was irritated by how hurt they made my gf feel, I wasn’t really worrying about them too much. But a friend of ours (who I’ll name B, who also used to live with M and my gf) started some drama after she found out about someone my gf used to talk to before she even started talking to me and started trying to gather “evidence” on the two of them to see if they were still talking at the time. (They weren’t. Both me and my gf know about each of our past partners/situationships and talking stages and any conversations we’ve had with them after the fact). At first I thought she was maybe doing that out of being protective over me (since me and B have been friends since we were little), but when B confronted my gf about the girl, she told me that B did that because she was mad at her about a whole different situation that happened between the two of them. And the reason this made me a whole lot angrier with M (and B ofc) was because 1) M would’ve been the only person to know about the girl out of the people B knew, 2) M and B saw each other 2-3 times a week during school, 3) I wouldn’t put it past B to specifically ask someone she knew disliked my gf, and 4) M had previously spread misinformation about my gf and I months before. My only thing is I have no actual proof of this, but it just seems too fitting
Every time my gf and I come across them or they come across us, M always looks down or away or anywhere but at us if they see us first. One time I saw them as I was about to walk out of a building, and since they didn’t see me first, when they happened to look in my direction they kinda did a double take and just looked at me. I just continued walking out. I’ve never had a personal issue with them, so for them to do all that makes me think they knew they were petty/disrespectful for some things. But who knows, idk how ppl like that think. Regardless, it irritates me to no end whenever I see them, especially cause they try to present themselves as such a lovely person. Sometimes it’s led me to hate scrolling, which frustrates me too cause u hate when I late people like that bother my spirit so much. But anyway, I just really don’t like them and, as much as I hate to say this, I dislike when things are going good for them lol. Even when I know I have it good too. I just want to not care cause they’re really not worth it. That’s all.
