I purchased 2 bags of Javy Coffee and was automatically signed up for the monthly subscription! I looked into it to see why I didn't catch their sneaky tactic and this is what I found: The first image shows the page you land on at check out. The button below the item makes it seem as though you have to press the button in order to subscribe and receive the discount. BUT....it is the opposite and you have to press the button to NOT subscribe, at least in my experience. THIS is extremely scammy and they will lose customers from this type of Gorilla Marketing. I have canceled my subscription and asked for a refund from the order that was just placed on the subscription I did not knowingly sign up for. In addition to my complaints, there are many other on BBB and other sites.The coffee is ok tasting but WATCH OUT if ordering so you don't end up with a subscription. It was also not easy to find the page to cancel the membership and i was asked about 5 times if I was sure I wanted to cancel. I also was scammed the exact same way with RYZE so I'm done ordering coffee online at this point.

Hi there--first time poster here. I searched through the faq and the previous posts, but I don't see an answer to this particular case with joints. We are building a house with a poured elevated slab that will be polished.. I'd rather have a realistic suggestion for joint locations in the floorplan instead of something happening on site in the moment. I see the rules for slabs on grade of 4" or 6" thickness, but don't know that it translates to something like a 12-18" structural slab. It is a tropical climate if that matters. Should we expect 10' or 15'? We will work with the local engineer of course, but I wanted to know the range we should expect. Thanks for any advice.

This post is solely about the video game series, NOT the Netflix cartoon. Personally, I hate the Netflix cartoon (it's so far removed and so detached from the video game series and there's so much OOCness it's not even funny) and I want nothing to do with ithe cartoon nor do I have any desire to discuss it with anyone on Reddit.
So yeah, this post is solely about the video game series, NOT the cartoon. And some people will call the content of my post here a "theory" but this is just my own personal take on the whole Castlevania story and the Dracula fiasco (I don't care if some people disagree with me, this is MY take and this is how I see it).
A repeating reincarnation cycle and centuries of suffering on a massive scale, all because of one hateful and vengeful Belmont who made the wrong choice. Leon Belmont is responsible for the whole Dracula fiasco, in fact he started the whole Dracula fiasco when he chose the path of hate and vengence. Leon chose the way of hate and vengence over the way of love and forgiveness and the way or killing over the way of redeeming and rehabilitating.
Leon vowed to hunt down every incarnation of Dracula (something like that because I'm paraphrasing here) to practice hate and vengence against Dracula, he even turned his own wife into a VAMPIRE KILLER for the very purpose of making her into an instrument of hate and vengence against not only Dracula but his WHOLE SPECIES (vampires) in general that he painted with a broadbrush. Why else would he have create a VAMPIRE KILLER, a weapon designed for the purpose of mass genocide against A WHOLE SPECIES, to wipe out all vampires and possibly all non-humans from the face of the earth (that's pretty much a Nazi-like Human Superiority ideology where humans are deemed morally superior to non-humans and non-humans are okay to kill indiscriminately).
Imagine if the situation was reversed, imagine if some vampire had created a HUMAN KILLER whip or any kind of HUMAN KILLER weapon and planned to use it to wipe out all humans indiscriminately, Leon Belmont would throw a hissy fit and scream genocide, evil and general statements. If it's wrong for Dracula to want to wipe out all humans, it's wrong for Belmonts to want to wipe out all vampires or all non-human species in general and assume that all vampires and all non-humans are evil by nature. If mass genocide is wrong when a vampire try to do it to humans indiscriminately, it's also wrong when a human try to do it to vampires indiscriminately.
Not all vampires are evil and not all humans are good, heck even Dracula was good back when he was with Lisa, he was a good husband and a good father and Lisa and Alucard lived good lives alongside him and Alucard had a relatively happy childhood and Dracula never did harm to humans for as long as Lisa was alive, it's only when she was brutally murdered that he lost it. So this idea that all vampires or vampires in general are evil by nature or have always been evil is ridiculous, vampires can do good just like humans can do evil. People like Leon Belmont need to grow up and need to realize that hate and vengence never lead anywhere good, never solve anything and that there's nothing Christian about that.
And Leon taught his descendants to do likewise, to take after him, he taught his descendants to choose the way of hate and vengence over the way of love and forgiveness and the way of killing over the way of redeeming and rehabilitating. It is said that the Belmont chosen ones (not all Belmonts were chosen ones obviously but a lot of them were chosen over the centuries, that's a lot of Belmont chosen ones), most of them anyway, are supposedly Christians. But a true Christian chooses love and forgiveness over hate and vengence and the way of redeeming and rehabilitatating over the way of killing (and will only kill as the very last resort). The only Belmont who broke the cycle of hate and vengence, who acted like a true Christian (walking the walk not just talking the talk), who brought about redemption and rehabilitation was Julius Belmont. It was with Julius' help and friendship that Soma vanquished the evil within himself and chose the path of good this time. Julius was ready to do what has to be done if necessary, but never out of hate and vengence.
Julius' courage in 1999 when he destroyed Dracula's reincarnation cycle saved countless lives and look at Dracula now, he has a second shot at living life as a regular human (Soma). What Julius did in 1999 and his genuine friendship with the young man in AoS/DoS sent Dracula/Soma on the path of redemption in Aria of Sorrow/Dawn of Sorrow. Alucard should be thanful to and proud of Julius because Julius is a blessing to him and his family and played a huge role in the redemption of this man who used to be Alucard's father. Julius never chose the way or hate and vengence and he also never beated Soma over the had with his past nor did he ever blame Soma when shit hit the fans and they got attacked by cults and monsters. He was determined to help Soma and to be there for him, which is a what a true friend does.
I love Castlevania, especially the Aria/Dawn of Sorrow arc, I've always had a huge soft spot for that arc, and I love its themes of redemption, forgiveness, self-control, spiritual transformation, love, friendship, family, etc. Also, I've always had a huge soft spot for redemption arcs, I can definitely understand why it's such an insanely popular genre in fanfiction and in entertainment in general.

Blara2401 has a very good point in the comment section of the first video (and this sums up the Aria/Dawn of Sorrow arc so well):
Blara2401 - "The Belmonts defeated Dracula ; and Dracula defeated himself."
The Revenant Count of Demonialordville - "That's Suicide...! Is it not?"
Blara2401 - "I said defeated, not killed. The Belmonts only ever killed Dracula for real once, and all of the others were merely temporarily victorious. Dracula defeating himself means vanquishing the evil within himself, not committing suicide."
He vanquished the evil within himself in his Soma incarnation and chose the path of good.
I pretty much agree with everything the creator of the third video said, except I don't think Mina is necessarily the reincarnation of Lisa (the whole "Mina is Lisa" thing is just a fan theory and it's more speculation than anything else). Most fans treat those two as separate characters and Mina might not necessarily be Lisa nor is it reasonable to think that Soma has to inevitably repeat the same cycle of always ending up dating the same woman in every incarnation. But whether you think Mina is the reincarnation of Lisa or another woman entirely, both interpretations can be explored in various contexts and both interpretations could give rise to interesting fics to say the least.
I find Alucard's character arc, which spans across centuries- practically the entire series - very interesting. I find it quite compelling how he starts out self-isolating... and eventually takes on a human persona (Arikado). Also, I hate it when some folks question or try to erase his humanity, it really pisses me off. He's more human than some of the people I know.
Soma, Alucard/Arikado, and Julius are among my top favorite Castlevania characters.
You don't need to believe in "reincarnation" to enjoy those video games and fanfictions, I don't believe in "reincarnation" and I enjoy them all the same, I think they are well written and I like the characters.

 | These boots are fucking GORGEOUS holy shit. Slid my feet in and it was straight up COMFORTABLE. And that made me a lil nervous. I have high volume feet so was very nervous about the fitment. Got my brannock size and even reached out to Truman to assist me in picking the right size. They said to get the same size as my red wing 1907's so I did. It's roomy but my feet aren't sliding around, the middle hugs my feet perfectly and I have no heel slip. I also have a thumb width space between my big toe and the tip of the boot. I could probably throw in a 2mm veg tan insert and make it snug or even a thicker sock. Did I hit the lottery on sizing? These are my second pair of leather boots ever, my first were a pair of red wings i got a few months ago and the break in was rough but enjoyable. These don't feel like they're going to hurt at all. Mass Effect Legendary Edition Review Reviewed by a first-time fan, January 2025
I started Mass Effect Legendary Edition in December 2024 and finished it on January 22 at 1 PM. I bought it for $5, drawn in by the Star Wars: The Clone Wars vibes I loved as a kid. As a 20-year-old with no nostalgia or bias for the series, I went in blind, and let me tell you—I would easily pay $30 in 2025 for this masterpiece. It’s a 10/10 experience in my heart, though my official score is 9/10 because of its flaws.
The story made me fall in love with the characters, and I truly cared for the people I interacted with. I could express my emotions—anger, compassion, or humor—and the game made me feel like my choices mattered. Halfway through the first game, I already knew I wanted to replay it to explore different paths. I was so invested in the story that I’d randomly text my girlfriend about events, character names, and what they did—even though she doesn’t even know how to play Mario Kart. She loves hearing stories, and she was drawn into the game’s narrative just from how excited I was about it.
BioWare created something extraordinary. A game originally released in 2007 now feels like a cherished memory, even though I only just played it. The narrative broke my heart, made me yell at my TV, and gave me a journey I’ll never forget.
Despite Andromeda’s reputation, I’m buying it tomorrow because Mass Effect has made me a lifelong fan. To BioWare and everyone who worked on this series: thank you. You’ve created something beautiful. I'm super late to the party, but I'm so grateful I got to experience it.
