Hello!
I've come here to mutually satiate a longing for connection with another person.
I want someone to chat with daily. I want someone to write lengthy letters back and forth with. I want someone to go on adventures with. I want someone with a strong, vibrant soul who can play well with my own strong and vibrant soul. All in the same person? Wonderful! But, I don't have such lofty expectations of anyone - including of myself. If all we can have are the daily chats, or penpal exchanges, or adventures, I'd be more than happy, and hope you would be too.
I'm 34, male, and live in the Eastern US. My only requirement for those who message me is that they're 18 or older, but I do tend to get along with cisgender women best.
I adore passionate people and interactions with a meaningful basis. I have a zest for many things in life and much prefer people who also do. Of course, this isn't always how things are. I can also be deeply lethargic and melancholic and would hope whomever I meet understands that side of life as well. The deep bonds I'm seeking are developed over time and with a full comprehensive understanding of each other. I dislike trivialities and limited interactions. I want us to feel each other out until we've mapped out every aspect of the other, allowing us to know what's possible and what we'd like to see happen.
I want to make it clear that if whoever is reading this feels like we may have a connection or ability to bond together they should message me. No hesitations or doubts, please. I don't believe in losing potential and being self-defeated before anything even occurred. Many of my most monumental and longest connections were the result of someone casting away self-doubt and not letting it stop them from meeting me. There's far more to gain than there is to lose, as foreboding and discouraging as things may seem sometimes.
So, who am I, exactly? And who are you? Here are some notable values, interests, and traits to consider:
- I strive to engage in genuine and authentic discussion. I understand that it can take time to open up and feel comfortable, and this is completely understandable, but my ultimate and ideal goal is to engage in a deep, intimate, meaningful way.
- The complex vulnerabilities within a person are as important as anything else. Most people have endured some form of trauma or pain, or are subject to some form of mental turmoil or woes. The type of connection I want understands, accepts, and embraces this reality. However, the type of connection I want also strives to live in spite of these things and to heal and advance in a comprehensive and considerate way.
- Creativity and artistry are important to me. Personally, I engage in more literary arts, primarily writing intellectually, about observations and thoughts, and conversationally, not uncommonly poetically and intensely. I can appreciate and admire many different types of expression, whether I involve myself in them or not.
- Ruminating, researching, and coming to understand new things is a major and critical part of my life. I, by choice, am an autodidact. The motto 'Nitimur in vetitum semper cupimusque negata.' is a pretty good summary of my intellectual ethics. I deem nothing to be above reproach, and also that there is no outcome in which everyone benefits or avoids misfortunate calamity. While we're on the topic, since it fits better here than in most spots, I don't do the politics thing. If it's a requirement of yours that someone shares your exact political, cultural, or personal values, we should discuss it bluntly and quickly to see if something is possible between us. No 'side' or 'sphere' is one I relate all that much to and I have contentions with all of them.
- I'm not a 'present moment' or 'live your life the the fullest' type. A lot of my life and values are based in things beyond myself. I exist as a blip of a transient moment with two sets of eternity, the past and future, all around me. That being said, I'm beginning to absorb that present moment in new and unique ways and am excited to see where it goes.
- More casual hobbies of mine include photography, tech, incense, time pieces, archiving, collecting, coffee, and abstraction. Inquire within if one stands out to you. I'm always surprised by what people consider to be interests and hobbies, so I probably have more I take for granted and didn't list here. I haven't consumed media regularly in years, but used to engage with a lot of it when I was younger, mostly including movies, anime/manga, and video games. I still watch movies from time to time, being more prone to it when I have someone else to accompany me. If you're looking for a gaming buddy or TV junkie you'll need to find it elsewhere, but I'm not fully opposed to sharing or talking about these things with someone either.
- I live a very dynamic life and have since I was young. I might stay up chatting until dawn one night and then be passed out by 5 PM the next one - likely because of the lack of sleep during the first. My pursuits, job, and other demands of my life are in constant flux. My resolution has always been to regulate these various needs and wants and to intensely focus on them when and if possible. I don't believe in being "too busy". You can always find time for someone, even if it's not consistent - finding that flow and appreciation of each other is vital.
- I'm INTJ and am Type 5. I only list these psychological evaluations because some people find them important or revealing. Personally, I find many of these sorts of tests to be bunk, although I do like studying myself and other people. It's a fun activity to share with those who are into it.

Has anyone here had any experience with overpaying/ being double charged for a tattoo? Around Thanksgiving I went with my husband for a tattoo appointment with this guy named David. We arrive at this apartment complex and he brings us up to his home studio (apartment). The appointment went on for about 8 hours and I thought we were getting along with him very well, we even shared some snacks my family sent me from overseas. The tattoo turned out amazingly, I wasn't even upset when he said the tattoo turned out bigger than expected and he had to charge us more (partner wanted to cover up scars).
My husband paid using Zele to the account David requested, 1,150$. David then said that the money was not showing in his account. We double checked, and could clearly see the money was deducted from my partners account and delivered. He offered to call his bank, but said his bank was closed and suggested we call our bank in the morning. I explained to my partner and the tattoo artist that the money was shown as delivered, but he still wanted us to try sending the money again. After 8 hours I really just wanted to leave, and so I went against my better judgement and sent him the money again.
The next day we call our bank and they (after a two week investigation) confirm the transaction cannot be refunded because it was confirmed delivered. He claims to have called his bank, and claims his bank did not locate the funds. He tells us to call his bank, and gives us the routing info for his account. Fast forward a few months to this week. He claims to have called his bank but there was still no sign of the transaction. We try calling, His bank is not able to give us much information about him, but tells us the money was delivered to an account under his name, "Jhonny David Lay". The routing number was not the same, but it was still under his name.
I sent him another message explaining what was going on, I mean, it's entirely possible it's a genuine mistake. This guy has been gaslighting us for months telling us we had to call our bank, his bank, zele. We're looking at filling in small claims court because at this point it's been months. We should have all the evidence we need to show we paid him twice, but what if his name is an alias, or what if he moves out of state? I feel like everything he's been doing has been an attempt to stall us until he moves back to Miami š.
Anyways, his insta is "davidlayhere" if anyone in the DMV recognizes him. He's very talented, worst case scenario my husbands tattoo will have a great story despite us paying double for it š

I need some insight on Apple software. A little background. I have a 2015 MacBook Pro bought new thatās running Monterey version 12.7.76. I love this computer and use it daily for work. Nothing crazy. Mainly Google systems, some excel and word documents and light photo software.
Iāve read that Monterey is the last software supported for this model MacBook. I donāt know anything about the software and updates. My question is will I be able to still use this computer for another year or 2 without worrying about security and or slowness or would it be better to upgrade to a more current model sooner than later?

hi, im a 21 yr old female, height 5ā4 and weight 200 lbs. im not sure how relevant any of this is but ive got diagnosed anxiety and adhd, psoriasis of my scalp face and ears, cubital tunnel syndrome in my right arm, and high cholesterol.
anyways, so about 2 years ago around december i found a weird dark pink spot on my upper left arm. it scabs over if i scratch it but it doesnt get scabby on its own. it hasnt really changed too much ever since it appeared except i think its gotten lighter? and it looks a little more uneven now but i tend to pick at it because looking at it stresses me out so i think that might be the reason for that.
anyway ive gotten it checked around 3 times over the course of the 2 years ive had it since i was worried about it being malignant but all the doctors ive seen have said it doesnt look like skin cancer and that it doesnt even look worth biopsying. i tried to stop worrying about it since 3 different people said its fine and everyone else i show it to say it looks okay to them. but around summer i noticed i could feel a lot of my lymph nodes which i hadnāt really been able to before, like everywhere but it wasnt specific to one area so i wasnt that worried, id just had mono the previous november so i thought it could be related to that.
but now some new bigger, fixed lymph nodes are appearing on my neck on the side of the arm spot and my elbow is hurting and a little swollen above my crease on my ulnar side. and its not mirrored on my other side like all the other lymph nodes are.
im really afraid this could be related to the spot and that it is actually malignant. idk. i would be less worried if my elbow wasnt being effected because my ones on my neck are next to one hard, fixed node on the left side of my head ive had for 5 years that my doctor said was due to my psoriasis on my scalp and ears (that one was ultrasounded bc of how big it was and they said it looked completely normal) but the elbow lymph nodes ive heard usually arent effected by stuff other than malignancy. i went and got all my nodes checked a couple weeks ago and the doctor said its fine and not related to the spot but im still afraid.
overall im just looking for a second opinion or peace of mind or something. something other than just āitās fineā, they havent even really explained to me what they think it actually is. does anyone know what it could be, or think i should try to see another doctor about this arm spot, or does it not look dangerous like they said? ill include pictures of the spot as well as the painful/swollen area on my elbow, its kind of red because i was touching it all day. the first image is my elbow, second is the spot when i first found it, third is the spot in january of 2024, fourth is the spot just now. though its recovering from being picked at so this isnt a great indicator of what it truly looks like right now but its still something
