When I played the original DKC Returns, I really enjoyed the first few worlds and I especially liked the levels with the silhouettes. However, now matter how many times I tried, I could not beat the levels in the mine cart world. I burned through hundreds of lives trying the various mine cart and rocket levels, but I was hard stuck. I ended up using the "Silver Donkey Kong" mode to skip those levels, but I could not find a way to skip the boss in that world. In the end, I got to explore about $30 worth of a $60 game.
I remember the difficulty being all over the place. One level, it would be a casual stroll without a single death, with great visuals and unique music. The next level could be dozens or hundreds of deaths without any progress.
I remember thinking that the game designers must have known their game was too hard, because otherwise they would have not included the "Silver Donkey Kong" mode. I think that the ability to auto-play levels reduced the incentive for the game designers to playtest the levels and tune the difficulty.
For those who have played Returns HD, is the difficulty any better? Have there been any changes to the level design that make the timing of the jumps more forgiving? Do the mine carts move at the same speed? Are the rocket levels still a bullet hell? Are the checkpoints in the same places?

My fiancée has been slowly working her way back into the meat eating world as of 2 months ago. She's been eating chicken, turkey and ground beef the ground beef so far she has only eaten in soup.
I want to get her to try some roast beef for the first time so what can I do make her first time trying roast beef a pleasant one that will open up the world of beef more to her.
Right now I have the roast in the fridge in a container with our homemade multipurpose spice on it to soak in the spice over night.
Tomorrow I'm going to put it in a roaster low and slow until it falls apart ( I have one of those countertop roasters that plug into the wall) so I'm wondering what else I can do to make the roast super tasty and make it so she wants to eat more of it in the future. I can't use anything like vinegar, worcestershire sauce or soy sauce or anything of that sort because both the smell and taste of those things make her sick. So any advice would be awesome.

I’ve gotten more sick the last several months and applied for (and was approved for) fmla for the first time. It was my understanding that I had protection but it doesn’t surprise me that my job tried to pull a fast one. It was a very toxic workplace so it’s better to be gone but I’m sad because I loved my work and enjoyed working with our clients. I’m also just scared to be looking for a new job right now.
