2025.01.22 00:34 NICiK My first print
 | Hey everyone, it’s that guy who the overkill ender 3 kit from a few days ago, I wasn’t planning on tinkering anymore during the week but my filament came in early so I decided to a test print. I figured I’d share some “success” in case anyone else find themselves in a similar position as I was when I made my first post. This print is not perfect, I have so ideas about what went wrong, that being said I know there’s some experts in here who are sure to enlighten me further. I printed in Creality Petg, I sliced in low quality on cura and printed at 260f nozzle and the bed at 90f. (I know now this is to hot but I’m also printing in a very cold basement so I went hotter to compensate.) My husband (51M) of 32 years is insisting that I (51F) have family holidays with our extended family since the death of his father last year. I do not get along with his family. Several years ago I found out that my husband had been lying about his life outside our family time. Going out drinking with the guys and regularly going alone to fully nude strip clubs. We are high school sweethearts and each other’s (first) and I thought only. He admitted to private dances and touching the girls. I was devastated and had a nervous breakdown over it. We tried to make it work and had severe ups and downs. One evening during a heated argument he choked me and hit me in the face leaving welts and a small bruise on my face. We once again tried we tried to make it work but after another argument he told me that the cheating, lying and abuse were partly my fault and that I needed to take responsibility for that. I was so frustrated, hurt and upset that I went on FB, befriended all his friends and family and told the whole story of the things he had done including the years of gaslighting. I didn’t mention him by name and I didn’t say anything untrue. His family was livid. They called two of my adult children to ask how I could possibly do that to their father. My daughter was told “Grandpa used to hit Grandma but she had it coming because she would nag him and spend money when he told her not to”. I called my brother in law and was told the same thing and that I needed to accept my responsibility for my part in the abuse and lying. I was told stat strip clubs are just what guys do, married or not. I was told that my husband choking my two sons and even our teenage daughter was fine because “sometimes you need to restrain your children”. I was deeply hurt because I thought he looked at me as his sister. I no longer attended extended family gatherings and our immediate family celebrated holidays by ourselves (4 kids, 3 spouses,4 grandchildren). After a lot of pressure I agreed to attend birthdays. But I have extreme anxiety whenever I am around them. Now that my father in law has passed my daughter has decided that Easter this year (at her house) will be with all the extended family. My husband has given me an ultimatum. Resume holidays and get together with his family or divorce. It was suggested that we sit down with the brother in law and talk, however my husband has made it clear that I will not like the outcome because it’s his opinion that they were only defending him and therefore did nothing wrong and that it is actually me that needs to apologize and get over it because I put it out in public and that is much, much worse than the abuse and lying. They all knew about the physical abuse but never reached out to myself or my children. Nor did they when I had my nervous breakdown. Only when I did something to my husband. Am I in the wrong for not wanting a relationship with them? My therapist agreed with me, so did my family. I just don’t know what to do.
