I found out, at 30, through 23andme, that I was adopted. I confronted my parents and they admitted, finally, that both my brother and I are actually adopted. They told me my birth story and apparently both my brother and I were born to teen moms. My mom was connected to me and it was an open adoption and she kept in contact for a couple years, but my brothers mom not so much.
After my parents disclosure of my bio mom’s name, I told my second cousin and she knew who my bio mom was. The names and situation ended up completely matching up. I guess my adoption was not a secret at all in their family. My cousin said she would reach out to her to see if she wanted to talk to me at all. But yeah, I’m nervous. I know there is a good chance she won’t want to talk and I will just have to get to know my extended family and accept what it is. But I’m secretly hoping so, SO much that she wants to talk to me.
Has anyone been through this before? How did it work out for you?

2025.01.22 00:47 endiigo4 AITAH for hanging up in my brother’s face?
Last Saturday my brother and I was having an amazing regular conversation. We were on the phone for about almost 2 hours when he decided to get into the “topic” that we never both agree on. We’ve had this convo before and it’s never went but I’ve never gone to actually just hang up when I got frustrated. I didn’t mention the topic because it’s a lot but if you care to know please feel free to message me.
The only reason I hung up was because I felt myself getting worked up to the point where I felt overheated. And I felt like the whole convo was stressing me because he started to raise his voice at me and would barely let me get a word in before he started talking loudly. I love my brother to death don’t get me wrong, but sometimes I feel like he can he very disrespectful towards women. And I find anybody raising their voice at me as a sign of disrespect.
My brother is known to be a very emotional person and I know he probably is in his feels about this. I suspect he is because he usually sends me reels on ig but he hasn’t since this happened. I know there is plenty of ways I could’ve ended the convo better, but like I said I didn’t feel like going back and forth anymore. I was irritated with the fact that he ruined the convo that was going really well with something so immature. The thing is he probably doesn’t view himself as doing anything wrong. And I’m willing to admit that hanging up wasn’t the best option but I did it to protect my peace and cool off at the moment. What do you all think, AITAH?

Operation Mekong Vanguard
As part of efforts to strengthen resolve for the freedom of fellow Southeast Asian nations as well as to kickstart strategic initiative to enhance regional cooperation and contribute to the defense efforts of the Republic of Vietnam, the Kingdom of Thailand is proud to announce the deployment of officer cadets to Vietnam. The Chulachomklao Royal Military Academy (CRMA), in cooperation with this effort, will send officer cadets to Vietnam and serve a period if 1 year.
This operation involves the deployment of selected officer cadets to Vietnam for a 3-month tour of duty. During this time, cadets will: 1. Undergo Intensive Language Training: Cadets will learn Vietnamese to effectively communicate with ARVN personnel and local communities. 2. Engage in Real Combat: Cadets will serve at different frontlines providing instruction and see real combat to provide them with firsthand experience in combat. 3. Develop Leadership Skills: Cadets will gain invaluable experience in a multinational military context, preparing them for future leadership roles.
After completing their 3-month tour, the cadets will then be moved to different ARVN training centres based on Vietnamese discretion where they will provide instruction, training and tactic development for ARVN troops for a period of 1 year.
Timeline: • Selection Process: Begins immediately; eligible cadets will be evaluated based on leadership potential, adaptability, and academic performance. • Pre-Deployment Preparation: Includes language classes, cultural immersion workshops, and tactical training. • Deployment: Scheduled for April 1973.
Cadets participating in Operation Mekong Vanguard will represent the pride and professionalism of the Royal Thai Armed Forces. This mission is not only a service to a neighboring ally but also a stepping stone in our officer cadets’ journey to becoming exemplary leaders.
For more information, cadets and their families are encouraged to contact the CRMA Operations Office. Together, let us uphold the values of camaraderie, cooperation, and commitment to peace in Southeast Asia.
