I had the XE80T10H45U1 80-gallon Proterra installed today. I bought the leak detection kit separately to have it installed together.
My HVAC/plumbing guy got everything set up, but we ran into an issue with the leak detection. It was sending moisture right out of the box after installation. It might have grazed some water, but we weren't sure. The sensor was on for a few hours before it turned off.
While I was on the phone with Rheem about the sensor, the installer and I noticed a few drips of water coming down under the LED panel area. I mentioned this to the Rheem rep, and he said, "Uh oh," then started a one-way video chat to inspect the installation. He asked me to point my phone camera down the slot at the top where the filter is located, after removing the filter, of course. I was also asked to shine a light down there.
He watched the pump run for about 10 minutes and said he saw no condensation in the well. He mentioned that their team had seen this a few times and couldn’t figure out where the condensate was going, but they assumed it was moving between the tank and the insulation.
I'm being scheduled for a service call to have a new unit installed, and they’ll take this one away.
A funny note: Originally, the plan was to have an installer remove the tank, take it back to Home Depot, exchange it with me present, then bring the new one back to swap. However, I told the agent that none of the local Home Depots had the unit in stock, so I wouldn't be able to swap it in-store. He suggested I return the tank, wait for the new one, and then call the installer to finish. I pointed out that I'd be without hot water for a week doing it that way, and he relented, opting for an in-house swap from a distribution center.
We’ll see how it goes.
As for the tank, it's running currently, and it took just over 3 hours on the high-demand setting to get to 100%. I thought that was pretty good, especially with temperatures below 10°F outside and cold water coming in. It’s quieter than I expected, too.

When we are little, we can't wait to be like the bigger kids. When we catch up to that age, we can't wait to drive and do other adult things. When we become adults we can't wait to get that promotion and better stuff. We have kids we can't wait for em to start talking then we wish they wouldn't talk so much. Then we wish they would talk to us again. And before long we are looking back at a bunch of rushed mistakes. Look at the last finish line you crossed. Take some time to appreciate what you have now. I know your tired. You got stuff you have to do. Make at least one of the things you do today is to schedule time for you to enjoy something. Even if it's just family game night or simply taking time to savor one of your favorite foods while taking a bubble bath. Maybe ...idk try to schedule this at least once a week, preferably at least 10 minutes once a day. If we want the world to love again we must stop running as if we hate ourselves and everyone else. Ok! I’ve posted before and got some good advice and have made some adjustments!
I’m 5’1 and weigh 165. (Goal 135 by September). I weight train and do cardio 4 days a week and my maintenance calories are somewhere around 1931.
I’m no longer including my burned calories in my tracking so I gave myself high and low days.
On Monday, Wednesday, and Sunday I aim for under 1,462
On Tuesday, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays I aim for under 1,703. These are the days that I work out and I tend to eat more on these days because I go pretty hard.
I aim for around 106 grams of protein but usually average around 116-120.

I’m sure this is a stupid question that is constantly asked on this subreddit, but I’m still seeking answers. I’m pretty young and I’m very interested in philosophy and becoming knowledgeable in this field, but I constantly find myself buying these books and trying to read them but not being able to understand a single thing going on. Whether it be the ideas presented in a way that feels foreign to me (like Zarathustra) or just using overly complex language, I can never seem to grasp what I’m reading, eventually leading to me losing interest. I just bought an introductory book on metaphysics because that is what I’m particularly interested in, but I’m just not sure how to go about first reading these books, and second fully grasping these ideas.
Again, I’m sorry that I’m asking this commonly asked question, but I would really appreciate any help.

Hi,
I’m a 24M dealing with persistent throat issues that haven’t resolved despite treatment. I’ve had a sore throat that won’t go away and changes to my voice for quite some time.
I visited an ENT, who diagnosed me with acid reflux issues. I was prescribed Pantoprazole (PPI) for 6 weeks, and my symptoms improved during treatment. However, after stopping the medication, my symptoms came back worse.
I asked for an endoscopy to investigate further. The results came back completely normal, and nothing unusual was found. The doctors suspect laryngopharyngeal reflux (LPR) and have prescribed me a higher dose of Pantoprazole.
Four days after the procedure, I woke up with my uvula severely swollen and sticking to my tongue. This was shocking and uncomfortable, and it hasn’t improved much since.
My last STD test was done a year ago and within the correct time frame, so I don’t believe it’s related. I have a dust mite allergy, but I’ve been taking my allergy medication as prescribed.
I feel completely lost. I don’t understand what’s causing these symptoms, especially the swollen uvula. Can LPR really cause symptoms this severe? Or could there be something else going on that we’re missing?
I’d appreciate any insight or guidance. Thank you!

Surprisingly haven't managed to find a good sample of answers to this, probably because not many people end up filing by mail.
I mailed out my paper returns for 2023 on 1/7. Anyone else file late for 2024, by mail, and could say how long it took/is currently taking?
I'm not worried about refund timeline, just how long it will take to show up in the IRS website as processing

I am not old, but I grew up in the area. I had a very, very painful, lonely, and violent childhood. I have never been back for that reason since I left.
But there were a few people that brought fleeting joy to me, and some things had me thinking of one person that I hadn't thought of in years.
After I dropped out of school, I met a man in Pacific Grove one day. I believe he was in his early 90s. He offered me harp lessons at his home. Because I was young and up for anything, I said sure, why not.
So I made the trek out to his home in Pacific Grove one day.
I am pretty sure the house was on a corner. It was in the corner of the peninsula, near the ocean. I remember going past the Fish Wife, and going south. It took maybe an hour to walk there.
The house was small, and when I came inside, he told me he built it himself. Looking around, it did look like it hadn't been done by professionals, but the kitchen looked much nicer and professionally done.
My few hours with him was more the story of his life and keeping an old man company more than a lesson.
He was a Sicilian who'd been adopted by a couple. Or was he not Sicilian and he'd been adopted by a Sicilian couple? I think it was the former.
He had a Filipino wife who was about half his age. She was a nurse. They had a large dog that stayed in the kitchen while we chatted. The dog may have been a collie or a larger sheepdog.
I think he may have been a teacher at a college closer to San Jose. Maybe. I'm really hazy on that one. I just remember him talking about travelling a long ways for his work before he retired.
He used all his spare money from having built his own house on this small plot of land to buy two large concert harps, the ones used by the New York Philharmonic. They were so ornate, and they were huge. They took up so much space in his little living room. I think he also had a baby grand in there. He said to me that I could have one when he died, and I told him no, I couldn't possibly accept that, we'd just met.
He accepted $10 for the lesson. I *did* learn a few things that day, like finger placement LOL.
And then a few days later I received a letter saying his wife didn't want me coming around for lessons, and that I should not come again. I was pretty sad about that for a bit.
I have looked on google maps to see if I can find the house. I can't imagine he's still alive. I can't imagine his wife kept it, at least in its current state. I found one corner that may have been it, as it's an empty plot now. But I also can't remember the street being familiar.
I remember walking back from that lesson, and on that main road where at the end stands the Fish Wife, I came across an apartment complex with a cat in the courtyard. Whenever you approached it and tried to pet it, it would hop up like a bucking horse or a rodeo bull. I looked at its name tag and its name was something like Mr. Bippity Bop. It was the funniest thing I'd ever seen, and I've never met a cat since that does that.
Would anyone here know this guy or know of him? Or know this house? Or the cat?
If not, I hope at least you've enjoyed this little trip down memory lane, of my childhood and of a Monterey I can't imagine still exists. I have a few more of such stories!

Boys, I gotta say, I love this sub. Made a reddit account specifically to come here. I found the boys about 2 years ago after watching watching all of pulse's fire pro world videos when it released and random new legacy vids popping up in my yt algo, not knowing the boys had dpw pod going, my brother suggested I listen to the pod and I recognized pulse and jawnny from their own channels, been hardcore dpw-ite since. I've listened to 90% of the episodes over 30min-60min. Going back and listening to all the older shorter episodes currently, Rn listening to the "every joke from the legendary wwe joke book" episode and am fucking crying. Some of these are soo gd funny.
Listening to all the episodes I have and just hearing the boys weekly/bi weekly, I feel like I know them, even I've never met either of the 3. The show has really helped me through some seriously dark times in the last year n 1/2, one of the few things I look forward to each week. Thank you all here for being so cool. Skiiiiwhoooa

If this actually happens, then console players who don’t play ranked need to seriously consider supporting ranked in MP n WZ, it would be a great opportunity to experience games without the nefarious PC crowd (not all PC cheat) assuming they have measures to prevent PC masking their platform as console. I suspect that if console only ranked was successful it would pollinate across to pubs 🤷♂️

Soooo update lol?
Before I get onto that I want to address some popular questions from my last post. Some people got confused and asked similar questions so I thought it might be nice to answer them here.
How do I give everyone a ride home? My family lives about an hour and a half from my aunt's house, so I'd fill my car with everyone I could and take them home. The next day, they'd take their spouses cars to pick up the ones they left. Stupid I know.
How did I get home? I Ubered.
Why was my cousin asking to leave at 11? She was drunk and probably had no idea what time it was. My aunt overheard me getting a little upset and pulled me aside, which sparked everything.
Update time
I ended up sending a text to our family group chat, including those who didn't make it to the party but heard about what happened. I'll copy and paste what I said here:
"Hey everyone, I’m not going to apologize for what happened on New Year’s Eve. I told you all well in advance that I wasn’t going to be the designated driver this year, and I expected you to respect that. I’m not anyone’s personal chauffeur, and I’m done being treated like I’m responsible for everyone else’s lack of planning. When (Cousin) called me a bitch for not driving, that was uncalled for. And Aunt (Name), lecturing me about being selfish and ruining the night because I chose to enjoy myself instead of taking on that responsibility again? I love you all, but I can't be your punching bag anymore. I’m not going to keep letting myself be the one who sacrifices for everyone else’s convenience. I’ve done it for years, and I’m done. Next year I think I’ll be spending New Year's somewhere else. I wish you all safe rides home and hope you'll be able to figure something out. I'll be taking some space from everyone and hope you will understand."
I then made the painful decision of blocking my parents who have been calling me terrible names and making me feel like complete shit since this happened. I never realized how dark my childhood was with all the gaslighting. My parents are probably the reason I have such severe anxiety.
My sister and brother are on my side and equally pissed off at our family so I still got them at least. I really do want to thank you all. I've always known something was off with my family, but I never realized how much I was taken for granted. How unloved I felt until now. Thank you for helping me realize that I'm worth more.
And to end on a positive note my boyfriend is now my fiancé. A few days after my post he proposed! His original plan was to take me to see some cutesy light displays in our town after I got home and propose there-which made my heart melt a little since I knew he was so tired after working lol-but when he saw me walk in crying, he read the room and switched things up. When I was feeling better he took me to dinner and proposed there. I have no idea how the wedding will go, or if my parents will be there, but I'm excited to spend it with the people who love and appreciate me.
