Why is the visa process so opaque? While waiting for a student visa for the last 8 months, I have never been updated by the DoHA. It seems they forgot about my visa. When I try to enquire, they say I have to wait. That's it. For those who get visas in a short duration of time, it's good for them. But why do we have to suffer both mentally and academically? Waiting time of more than 8 months and still being uncertain is just a Shit. I wish I had not applied to study in Australia.

Hello, I recently bought a Beogram TX2 from a thrift store. When I got home, I noticed that the stylus was worn, so I looked online for a replacement. I realized quite quickly that this was going to be an expensive project.

This happened quite a few years ago and here's some back story for context. I had two close friends, Ashley and Jennifer. We were like sisters, always together matching outfits, same sorority everything. Now Ashley and I had what I thought was a friendly rivalry like outdress each other and stuff like that but I thought it was in good fun.
I dated this guy John a long time ago and then we reconnected years later. He asked me to marry him and Jennifer and Ashley were of course involved in everything! Well John turned out to be a dud just like before and I dumped him again. I was hurt and Jennifer and Ashley knew the whole sordid story! Fast forward a few years and I am planning my wedding to my now husband and my girls are of course involved!
Jennifer calls me one day to tell me that Ashley and John are together. Jennifer had been encouraging Ashley to tell me the truth. Ashley tells Jennifer that she is planning on telling me when she shows up with him at my wedding! I immediately cut Ashley off! I felt betrayed and hurt. Why would she plan to bring that piece of shit to my Wedding! Jennifer asked me not to say anything to Ashley because she felt bad for betraying her trust but also felt that Ashley crossed a line by lying and planning to bring him to my wedding.
I didn't say anything to Ashley for years until Jennifer gave me permission and then I used a lot of profanity to express my displeasure. No name calling just cursing in general. Ashley deflected and accused me of still being in love with John and took no responsibility for her actions. I told her that I could care less about John, I was hurt by her actions. She said John told her we were never serious and I made it all up. Jennifer is now caught in the middle and that's why I am wondering AITA. Ashley won't talk to Jennifer if I am around and gets upset if Jennifer calls me when they are together, whereas I don't care if Ashley is around. While she understands how I feel, Jennifer wishes we could just find a way past this and I am thinking I should try to fix it for Jennifer's sake so AITA for ending my friendship over a guy?

2025.01.22 04:32 ApprehensiveTart2444 A FPS/Sandbox spiderman game with your goal being to avoid spiderman as a criminal boss
General Idea:
This game would be set in New York, the basic idea is that you'd start small with next to nothing and throughout the game, you'd have to build connections, get richer, rob banks and deal with other competitors all while avoiding Spiderman's attention.
If spiderman was to catch on too much, he'd cause you to restart all your progress based on a few factors like how big you are, the loyalty of your members, etc.
Gameplay:
You would start with a small group of friends wanting to make it big in the drug business and throughout the game you'd have to grow your empire, make connections, avoid other larger empires and take down competitors all while avoiding spiderman's attention.
If you attract Spiderman's attention, you'll have to either deal with him or fail and head to prison. You would have to figure out yourself if spiderman is onto you/at your bases. The way you deal with spiderman will also dictate how he will attack/deal with you in the future. He'll learn from you and react accordingly.
For example: If you surprise him by some method, you won't be able to use that same method as he would be expecting it/had prepared for it.
Once your big enough, Spiderman would show up at random times either at your shops/bases/houses/etc or stop your.
Throughout the games, members of your empire/business will try and betray/sabotage upon which it will be
Mechanics
I imagine it would be similar to GTA and the insomniac spiderman games. Sort of like a mix. You would be able to play in either First or third person with a fully customisable character
There would be a set amount of weapons and gear based on the comics with some original content mixed in that you would be able to buy/make giving yourself an advantage against spiderman.
Spiderman will also remember what you look like so as you meet spiderman more and more, you won't be able to freely roam New York without taking precautions.
Setting
It would be an open world game set in New York with an experienced spiderman. roaming the streets. The plot of the game is primarily up to you and how you choose to play it. Do you decide to take it slow and play it safe or rise quickly but risk catching Spiderman's attention?
I imagine it would fit under sandbox/fps/open world.
