if x == True:, however, compares x to the value of True, which is a kind of 1. Comparing 2 == 1 results in a false value. To be exact, there are two adjacent concepts: * the one is the "truth value", which determines the behaviour of if , while etc. * the other are the values True and False , which have the respective truth values "true" and ... if x == True: This uses the x.__eq__(True) method to compare x to the boolean value True. if x is True: This checks if x is the boolean value True specifically, meaning x must be the exact same object as True (i.e., it shares the same memory address). These three conditions can yield different results, as they check different aspects of x. I'm trying to plot two series together in Pandas, from different dataframes. This is closer to an analogue to the expression you describe (x == true) Also be aware that == is value comparions with type coercion, eg "3" == 3, whereas === asserts equal typing too. As far as I can see, there are three ways to use Booleans in C: with the bool type, from <stdbool.h>; then using true and false defining using preprocessor #define FALSE 0 ... #define TRUE !(... Did I find this practical example, can be useful to someone: When boxed type java.lang.Boolean is used as an expression it will throw NullPointerException if the value is null as defined in Java Language Specification §5.1.8 Unboxing Conversion. Aita for being annoyed by my MILs habit when at our home of leaning down to her dog, which then begins humping her. This happens regularly when we’re with her. I am so close to telling her off (it makes everyone uncomfortable and I know she does it partly to annoy us. She’s even laughed when her dog wouldn’t stop humping one of the little grandkids. Do I keep the peace or do I tell her she isn’t welcome if she continues this?

Inspired to share by a few other recent posts from folks with mild AHI and still getting poor sleep.
I had my at-home sleep study in August with the watch pat. My results came back mild / moderate with an AHI of 12.1 and an RDI of 20.9. My symptoms that prompted the test were sleep maintenance insomnia.
I had a very rough start the first month with default settings on 4-20. At my first follow-up this was changed to 4-10. At my second followup 3 months in, there were no adjustments and I left a bit skeptical. My provider was happy my AHI was under 1 even though I expressed I was still sleeping very poorly and awake for a lot of my time using my cpap each night. My provider felt I only needed low pressure because of my age and weight and said I just needed to keep trying at it.
I’ve been “trying at it” best I can and have since adjusted my settings gradually up to 6.2 to 10. I’m more comfortable, but still only sleep 2-3 hours at a time most nights. I feel like on a lot of nights, my AHI is artificially low because I’m not sleeping very deeply, and notice that on the rare occasion I do sleep longer than 3 hours at once, my AHI is slightly higher. In the meantime, I also had a sinus CT and confirmed my sinuses are normal and I have no deviated septum.

I am far more sleepy than I have ever been, but I understand and accept that I need a cpap. I’m seeing a new provider at the end of the month and am hoping it will be more productive. In the meantime, I am trying to keep learning so I can help myself get some sleep.

I've been trying to find a crime drama or crime thriller film that gives me a vibe similar to Mindhunter, but I’ve been unsuccessful so far. I've already watched most of the prominent films in this genre—the tip of the iceberg, like Memories of Murder, Se7en, Zodiac, etc. So I thought this is the best way to go about it.
I’m looking for something with elements of investigations and murders. The closest I’ve come to finding such a film was Once Upon a Time in Anatolia, in my opinion, or Angst, which I watched yesterday. However, Angst doesn’t really have an investigation aspect.
I’ve been trying hard to find the same vibe as Mindhunter or the first season of True Detective because I haven’t come across any film as impactful in this genre. Please help me find one. If this is the wrong sub to ask for recommendations, kindly point me in the right direction.
