2025.01.22 06:48 Imaginary_Tomato_905 fill material for very unlevel sub floor (vinyl plank over linoleum sheet)?
Building is like 120 years old with a very un-even floor. There's about a 2.5" peak in the center of a ~3'x3' hump, and some other areas unlevel. I'm hesitant to use something self leveling because everything is so unlevel I don't want it adjusting by itself and not curing flat. I need suggestions for a easy-to-find (depot/lowes etc) filler material that I'll put over the linoleum sheet and I'll just use a straight piece of track framing as a screed to make the filler inline with the top of the 2.5" hump. The whole area in question is about 12x8', the rest of the room is level. Putting vinyl tongue and groove planks over this.
I probably need about a 5 gallon bucket worth. I might score the linoleum with a razor so the filler adheres better, an/or a bonding primer paint or something, but stepping all over it might turn it to dust anyway? Especially if it's not rubberized/flexible like DAP Flexible floor patch and leveler 32oz compound $12 for a small container I might need like 6. But maybe that'll hold up better than something like cheap thinset?
I know buildings settle but IDK how the heck it's so unlevel - it's as if not only did someone accidentally put two joists crown-side-down with one correctly crown-side-up in between them but that also there was a milling error on the 1 crowned-up. IDK and there's probably tons of sub floor etc I'm not about to take the whole building apart and plane it down or anything. I already have to cut like 2.5" off the bottom of a door leading outside so it can even open once the floor is leveled because the worst part of the hump is near the door and prevents it from opening full as it is - Where the floor will then meet the baseboards - whatever if one side ends up almost at the top of the baseboards it's ok for aesthetics, I'm not taking all the baseboards off either to raise them up the wall.

I'm a SFA at a large CPG in Toronto. My company loves saying they want people to engage in continuous improvement and learn new things. We have a L&D budget too that refreshes every year. I tried to use it since we're encouraged to use it, I was going to take math courses to help improve my numeracy skills, but they said it's not applicable to the role. I was like no problem, I just joined this year and they probably don't want me to. However, this May, I have my CFA exam, and I asked my boss to use up my vacation time for it and she was like it's at month end and it looks bad if I take vacation during this period. I explained to her that I paid close to $2K USD, it's in line with my career goals and I couldn't defer it because I've used up the deferral. So, then she was like just take 2 weeks of vacation come back for a week and then go back on vacation. I said this really messes up my study mode. She said nobody else can do you month end job. Even though she was doing it before I joined and my exam is in May, I'm telling her in Jan, but no cross training I guess. So, then she was like, OK, why don't you come back for a few days at month end, but in the meantime we will have to work on getting the stuff that you would do in May to try and get done in March and Feb. My reply will be that, I can't work that much unpaid OT because then I won't be able to study in the evenings, it'll work against my vacation which I'm using to review for my CFA. On the one side the upper management really loves saying how they value continuous learning and on the other hand my manager won't let me go vacation for continous learning. I haven't spoken to her boss or her bosses boss.

But it doesn't have the same colors as the character from the movie, so it's possible she just named it Jenna around when the movie came out. Or the colors faded from washing and time. Hey I am a f30 living in Delhi all alone with zero to no househelp for cooking, I have to make everything on my own and sometimes when I am lazy I just eat onion parantha with garlic achar(I know this is embarrassing but I don't have any choice). Even yesterday I ate this and my stomach got upset but as I was getting late for work I ignored it and just took my metro.
As soon as I sat my stomach started making sounds and Idk how the pressure was getting released uncontrollably and the fart started getting released. I am just lucky nobody smelt that otherwise it would have been embarassing. I thought someone smelt that but he was just leaving for his station.
