2025.01.22 05:11 mettal How to determine Hifi Walker H2 firmware version for RockBox install?
I recently got a Hifi Walker H2 used from ebay. It's got micro USB so I'm fairly certain it's hardware generation 1. On the device itself, when I navigate to "System Settings > About the Player > Version" it displays "firmware version 1.0".
I was looking at the files present on the SD card while backing up my files in preparation to install RockBox, and I noticed a file that I didn't place there in the root of the SD called "version.ini". The contents of this file are "1.5.01Beta".
So I'm not sure if my device is firmware version 1.0 or 1.5.01Beta. Do I trust the firmware displayed within the device, or on this .ini file I found on the SD root? I'm not sure how to install RockBox from either of these versions as most of the posts I've come across are people installing from 1.3 or 1.5.

We are 100% one and done and are planning IVF next year. I’d love to hear from any parents who are in long term relationships - we have been together 20 years and my biggest fear is not a baby or toddler but a little person whose personality we can’t choose. It sounds terrible but like I chose my husband. He chose me. We figured out our rhythm and how to talk to each other and solve conflicts. We have the same likes/dislikes and routines. We know when the other is hangry or needs something and can fix it in a snap. We travel so well together - crammed in trains or tiny hotel rooms for weeks on end and don’t drive each other crazy. But adding a whole other person into the mix? I know I’d love our child beyond measure but like I’m terrified how they will change what we have after two decades of perfecting how we are together. A party of two becomes a party of three but we don’t know who we will get. I’m so introverted. What if we have a social butterfly? How does that change the family dynamic? Or even as our kid grows - a know it all 8 year old to a moody teenager. Getting our carefully selected furniture dirty and leaving trash and dishes out. I know part of this is teaching them but after so long we are just set in our ways I guess. And it’s scary. I guess what keeps me up at night isn’t so much a new baby but like a personality of someone we can’t pick and how it changes what we have built for the last 20 years.

I feel sorry for Europa. I only got the game a few days back so i'm still catching up on lore, but from what i've witnessed I can't help but feel bad shooting them.
From my perspective they're getting dog-piled by the rest of the world and getting their absolute shit kicked in on their home turf.
You've got the technocratic Eurasia dabbling in cybernetic monstosities dropping cyborg thralls on them day and night, I almost feel good about ending these dudes' miserable existence. Human brains encased in metal and robbed of free will.
Then you've got Euruska dabbling in biological monstrosities, playing with nature to build man-machine war hybrids void of humanity which, while looking cool, are kinda repulsive to imagine. How could you feel bad killing something so vaguely human?
And finally you have Europa. Struggling with not only poverty and famine within their own borders, but an apocalyptic forever-war aswell. They're still human, repurposing old merkava tanks and scraping together whatever modern mecha technology and strapping in to gain a solid force multiplier to keep them in the fight.
So yeah, if I could call a truce with them I would. If i'm missing something let me know, but as it stands i'm sympathetic to their plight.

Hey guys! So I have a half tabby half calico kitty and she's always been fairly talkative but lately, it's been extreme and sometimes they get very sad and low, which isn't normal. I'm getting worried at this point.
I've changed her food, water (still and got a fountain) and gave her a clean, fresh litter box and still no change. I don't know if it's loneliness or lack of attention. We are a family that's gone for a lot of the day because kids are at school and the rest at work. But she gets lots and lots of attention when we are home. I also speculate it could be heat as she is not spayed but I don't know if that's the case because she isn't exhibiting any other symptoms.
We are going to get her an amiga next week but I don't know how to make her happy before then. any advice?
