i've been reading a lot about people's experiences working in the solar industry, and it seems like a recurring theme is how exploitative the field can be, especially for apprentices or new hires. some common complaints i've seen include:
• cheap labor: apprentices doing the heavy lifting and grunt work for low pay, while companies profit off their effort.
• limited career growth: many mention that solar work is so specialized it doesn't prepare you for other areas of the trade, which can trap you in a narrow career path.
• terrible work conditions: long hours, tough physical labor, and working on roofs in extreme weather seem to be the norm.
• burnout: the combination of all these factors leads to high turnover, with many leaving the industry within a few years.
at the same time, some say it's a great way to get into renewable energy and that your experience really depends on the company you work for. so, for anyone who's worked in solar or knows the industry well what's the deal? is this reputation justified, or are these just bad experiences getting amplified online? would you recommend the solar industry to someone who wants to become an electrician?

2025.01.22 10:09 rhcplive Question on installed games/DLC on HDD (file location an uninstall)
Got a free PS3 and put the latest CFW on it. Everything's nice and working, but I have troubles understanding how things work when installed.
E.g. I put the Virtua Tennis 4.iso in the PS3ISO folder and when I launched the game it asked me for files to be installed and so I went along. Now, I can see over FTP, that it put the stuff on dev_hdd0/game/BLUS30529Install but let's say I don't want VT4 anymore and delete the iso, how do I see on the console if there are leftovers for that game on the HDD? This might be a noob question and sure I could just delete the files over FTP, but I reckon if you have many disc based games that requiere some file installation, those files are not meant to stay on the HDD forever?
Before I put CFW on it, i swapped the 120gb HDD with a 1TB SSD, and also noticed before swapping that the internal HDD only had about 30gb left even though I uninstalled every game before.
If the PS3 doesnt show you leftovers on the HDD out of the box, will some mod show me somewhere?
Another question regarding DLC: I put an Uncharted 2.iso (EU version) on the PS3ISO folder and went to NoPaySt. and downloaded some EU DLC stuff for it, then put them into the exdata and packages folders and installed the packages via package manager. Now I looked up the game folder over FTP and it seems the game content installed to BCES00727 while the DLC went to BCES00509 and BCES00509DATA2 and my first questions is, will the DLC work for my game version iso, or should the DLC have the same ID as the game? And also here, how do I go an uninstall this stuff in a comfy way without having to FTP and check cryptic IDs for what they stand for.

On snapchat discovery vids, spotlights, aswell as YouTube shorts and TikTok, when certain people appear on vid, there is unnecessary bias. For example if a woman (usually is white, young, brunette or blonde) does anything, even when she breathes, the comments are just full on misogynistic and make negative assumptions and generalisations. Some rather listen to Andrew Tate than to see that content. Wtf
When there are vids in these portraits that show minorities and diversity, comments are so racist and xenophobic.
The general genre of brainrotting useless ragebaite brings, on the other hand, cringe overused copy paste jokes.
Any topics that are ethical? The comments will just say they are boring or dorky.
When a crime against a child happens, the comments praise the perpetrator, even if the incident is much worse than neglect like filicide, cse etc
I understand, most of them are not only under 18 but even under 13. I assume that in 2025, the age range is now 12-15 ish and are mainly students who have in-school suspension as their home with poor grades but the behaviour therr is nevertheless shocking.
There is no way we can escape from these discovery, shorts or tiktok vids. TikTok ban is useless as since 2023, every social media is a wannabe of it, so the same shitty comments will appear back to back.
