My (F29) best friend (M31) met his girlfriend (F36) a couple months ago. At first he felt like it was a very healthy and steady relationship, she lade him happy. After 2 months of dating they made it official, and all of a sudden she became very anxious and demanded a lot of time and attention from him.
Every time they met up she would bring up her insecurity of him having a best friend of the opposite gender. It always put a strain on the day, always made a positive day become negative. After about 3 or 4 weeks, she asked him what cheating meant to him.
A week later they had another argument which boiled down to the same issues. She made a list of what a boyfriend should be, and he pointed out he already did most of the things on the list.
She always wants to spend time with him. He works shift work with night shifts, which gives him more days off overall but recovery can be difficult, and yet he will bend over backwards to make his schedule align with what she wants, forgo sleep. He has also stopped going to the gym on his days off, maybe goes once a week when it was an essential part of his day. He says he now feels flabby and fat. She wants to talk to him every day, even the days he works 12 plus hours. His way of dealing with that is to call on the way to or from work, so then he misses out on his music time which is a time to decompress.
I rarely hear from my bestfriend anymore, messages or at the gym because of this relationship. I get that priorities shift but as outlined above, gym and music have been shafted from his life.
A couple weeks ago there was another monster argument which went further than ever before. It caused him to finally stand his ground and she backed off. For the last 2 weeks she has backed off.
In the few times I have seen my best friend, there's always a negative story. He always looks worn out and frazzled. I have tried to point out that it looks like he's in a coercive control relationship. At first she communicated her issues but now she bottles everything up and it explodes. And it's always the same issues that it comes down to. He has done absolutely nothing to demonstrate he is dishonest, doing something without her knowing or being anything other than a committed boyfriend.
While she has backed off in the last 2 weeks, I don't feel like that undoes 4 weeks of constant stress. Most recently, he went to her place and hung out until the early hours of the morning. At the end he says he will go home and she looks at the time and says "I have to be awake for work in 2 hours" which he thought was a very toxic trait. In my opinion she is absolutely monopolising his time, is exhibiting concerning attachment issues and potentially has deeper issues which cause this behaviour.
I did encourage him to break up with her which he did the other day but has now asked if he rushed into that action. He said it was the first time he felt loved and cared for.
I do feel like it's a coercive control relationship which always run in cycles of ups and downs. When the good times are good, they're absolutely amazing. When the bad times are bad, they are absolutely awful.

2025.01.22 10:06 Fickle_Giraffe_1215 New burrows after treatment, feel like unaliving myself, been 3 years now
These are all the new spots I have found in my body after rigorous treatment, ivermectin for 2 weeks, 2 tablets of 12 mg per week, BB for 4 days straight, applied permethrin at the start of January for three days as well.
Yet, I am finding these new spots and scars and some have said this might be post but I have done this treatment last year and the same thing happened.
The long scratches are also scabies, I don’t know why they are like this but they are, no one else seems to have these scar kinds burrows.
I have never felt so helpless in my life, I quit gym cause I couldn’t go out there with this disgusting thing in me, I have literally stopped most aspects of my life and I don’t know if anything will make me normal. I am crying while typing this, fk I have never felt this suicidal in my life. I am gonna go dip myself in a bleach bath, I don’t even care is it gives me cancer or something I just want this things gone.
