2025.01.22 10:55 Lateandbehindguy Lost and not sure about finance career path after graduating from T15. Does this direction look to be a good path or where should I be looking?
I have my CFA charter and MBA from a T15 school. After graduating, I joined a buyside investment company in a quantitative investment analysis/factor research type role. Most recently I was mostly in analytics at an investment company. I don’t have experience in fundamental research so that path looks unavailable and I don’t have enough interest in that.
I’ve always been more technically inclined but don’t have good coding skills and I need to live in a particular city so I’m trying to see what career path would be best for me from here on out. It seems that working at some kind of investment company or bank looks to be the best fit because I got the CFA and don’t want to waste that.
Is some kind of analytics/data research/portfolio analysis in the investment industry the best path for someone like me or is there some other path I should consider?

Honestly this rule doesn't apply to all posts like this but some.
Some posts will post a persons fit with the caption 'it's obvious they farmed for this rank!' or 'How is this a trendsetter?' etc. Idk about you all, but I personally find it a wrong for a few reasons. 1. Everyone has bad fits and bad themes. I know your fits aren't perfect all the time, and that's ok. 2. It's embarrassing. Like imagine you were on this sub and just saw your fit, especially if your username wasn't covered. 3. Lower ranks; People are still learning, even some of the best Top models started out with bad fits. 4. They could've been experimenting. This point kind of ties into the first one, but sometimes I want to create a character from a show, or try a new style, and it absolutely fumbles. I can imagine this happens to others as well.
BUT..... I think that SOMETIMES posting these fits is ok. If someone was like, completely off theme to the point is crazy annoying and funny, then I think that's fine to post. Or if it's like your own fit. And sometimes its funny if it's really bad, but at least cover their name tag.
Maybe this post seems like I'm being a Karen, but it's just something I've seen a lot of on this sub and probably needs to be cooled down a little bit.

M25. Sono depresso e prendo un antidepressivo. Lo sono stato da metà 2021 a metà 2023, e ho ripreso ad esserlo alla fine dell'anno scorso. La "pausa" è stata generata dalla mia prima relazione sentimentale, che finché è durata ha messo un paravento sui problemi. Alla fine dell'anno scorso mi sono laureato e mi sono reso conto di essere praticamente da solo qui (nella mia città di origine ho degli amici, ma ciò non rappresenta una consolazione).
Ho un lavoro full time, suono la tastiera in chiesa, canto nel coro, passo più sere fuori che a casa nel tentativo di coltivare relazioni e hobby, di recente ho anche cominciato a uscire con sconosciuti incontrati in gruppi appositi nati qui su Reddit. Fino all'anno scorso giocavo a pallavolo e pensavo di essermi fatto tre-quattro amici nella squadra, ma da quando ho smesso (per finire la tesi di laurea) non mi cercano più e devo essere sempre io a farmi avanti. Pochi giorni fa sono andato a giocare a pallavolo, sempre con sconosciuti, per la prima volta da mesi: sul momento mi è piaciuto (ed è forse l'unica cosa che mi è piaciuto fare nelle ultime settimane), ma appena tornato a casa ho ripreso a stare male.
In tutti i contesti mi sento a disagio, fuori posto, ed è una costante sin da quando mi sono trasferito qui, 6 anni e mezzo fa.
Quasi tutti i giorni ho pensieri suicidari che non posso riferire a nessuno se non al mio psicologo, che mi segue sin da quando ho iniziato a star male. Di solito sono solo pensieri, ma a volte mi ritrovo a pensare anche a come potrei attuarli, e a frenarmi è solo il pensiero di mio fratello che vive con me e sta studiando per gli esami. Ho provato una sola volta, a fine 2021, imbottendomi di Xanax, ma per fortuna(?) mi ha solo intontito per mezza giornata.
Sento che la felicità non esiste più nella mia vita, e non ho la più pallida idea di dove trovarla.

I have a 1080 which is still going strong but started to show it's age with some of the newer games.
Debating if I should get the 5080 as a replacement although a little annoyed at the 16gb of ram as I typically like to run my cards into the ground and hold onto them for 7+ years so a little worried about future proofing.
Thoughts?
Anyone think a ti version with more ram may come out later this year?

 | Currently managing Wolves in the prem, one season after promotion from the Championship. We’re doing extremely well (sitting in 5th) but my top goal scorer, Matheus Cunha - who is leading the prem in goals - is on the last year of his deal and wants to leave! He has been this way since we were relegated two seasons ago. Is this a glitch? I can’t renew his contract even though I want to because he doesn’t have interest in resigning, but his moral is not trash, only mid. It is saying that he wants to leave to “play in a better division,” but we’re about to qualify for Europe this season and i don’t understand why he still wants out. Morale at the club is high and it says “holds you din the highest regard as head coach,” so I don’t know why he would want to leave. Is there anything I can do to convince him to stay, or should I look to sell him in the January transfer window? The only thing I promised him is to accept a bid for $119 million if it is received.
