2025.01.22 10:42 iwonderthesethings Fledging Pigeon Behaviour
We've been watching 2 babies grow since we noticed them, over the last couple of weeks - I'd say they're around 4 weeks old now.
Huey is a little rebel...he ended up in our alfresco last night and slept on the window sill. He flew off this morning and we haven't seen him since. I'm worried about him as he's not ready to be on his own yet. I know his parents saw him sitting on our rear fence, and it seemed like they were trying to get him to fly back. We left the house and it was the last we saw of him. Do you think he's ok? Am hoping his parents followed him and are watching him? Will he be far away? Should I see if I can go find him? I wouldn't know how, but I can try if I must.
His sibling, Duey, is a little more subdued. He took longer to flap his wings and doesn't seem to care to fly, even though he's able to in a fledging kind of way, last I saw yesterday. He's still chilling in the garage. I am sure by tomorrow he'll be taking flight. But I don't know if his Mum has been feeding him. I know she knows he's there as she's visited him at least once or twice today from what i see on the grainy camera I have in there. But I don't know if she's fed him. Don't knock her...she's been an amazing Mum so far!
I have a seed mix with split peas and oats in a few places in there, but mainly in a tray on the floor now. There's a small bowl of it near the nest but he hasn't gone near the nest since yesterday after flying out of it. But he's not eating that yet.
I haven't approached Duey as I don't want to frighten him and cause him to fly off and get lost and not come back. But at what point should I worry? I'm already sad that Huey has gone, knowing that he's not able to look after himself yet, so I want to do what i can for Duey.

2025.01.22 10:42 MrRangerQC Power chords technique/ergonomy
So this may seemike a dumb question but I attempted to play guitar three decades ago and quit because I struggled with power chords and was really frustrated. Now in my forties, I decided to give it another shot and the power chords still have me wanting to smash my guitar on the walls.
My problem is that my arm doesn't seems flexible enough for these positions. Everytime I attempt a power chords I feel like I'm gonna snap something in my arms. I'm a fairly short guy and thought that, maybe, my arms are probably not long enough for this technique but I saw little kids do it so, surely, I can.
I started playing ukulele a few years back because it's a shorter and smaller neck. No problem there.
Is it something that I can actually develop or if I can't do it now, I'll never be able to?

nun bin ich schon seit einigen Jahren Vermieter von 4 Wohnungen und mache die Verwaltung in Eigenregie. Jedes Jahr schiebe ich immer wieder die Nebenkostenabrechnungen vor mir her. An Weihnachten habe ich dann mit meinem Kollegen über das Thema gesprochen. Er hat auch einige Immobilien, die er selber verwaltet und ist selbstständiger Software-Entwickler. Nach 3h intensiver Diskussionen, wie man das Thema einfacher gestalten kann, haben wir uns kurzerhand entschlossen, ein eigenes KI Modell dafür zu trainieren.
Wir sind bereits auf einen guten Weg. Das System kann schon 90% der Abrechnung automatisiert erstellen. Wir feilen, aber noch an den ein oder anderen Stellen, um unseren Ansprüchen gerecht zu werden:
- Es soll möglichst wenig Dateneingaben benötigen
- Die Berechnung soll automatisch auf Basis der hochgeladenen Kostenbelege passieren
- Es gibt Unterstützung bei der Auswahl der richtigen Verteiler durch Erklärungen
- Es fügt automatisch eine individuelle und verständliche Erklärung für den Mieter an
- Alle Daten werden auf deutschen Servern und DSGVO konform verarbeitet

I've tried Valhorna, Calebaut, etc. but none of them were as rich as I would like. The Trader Joe's bar actually got the closest to what I'm looking for. I tried one type of Cocoa Barry and that was pretty good too.

Problem/Goal: Job hunting nasa 100+ applications preferred setup WFH/Hybrid (2x rto)
Context: So October 2024 nagsimula akong maghanap ng bagong work para mag shift ng career reason ko ay hindi ako nag ggrow sa current career ko sa tax field. Currently nasa 2nd job na ko yung 1st job nasa "Big 4" firms same field, kahit nakikita at sinasabi ng mga seniors ko na may improvement sa gawa kong outcome parang ang bagal ng growth ko dagdag na yung feedback ng manager na hindi ganun kaganda. At syempre yung sahod hindi ganun kataas.
Sa totoo lang nung kinuha ko tong work na nasa 100+ na rin rejection ko, naisip ko nalang ay kunin ko na kaysa sa tambay at palamunin lang ako sa bahay atleast naman perma WFH siya kahit yung sahod nasa 2+ lang yung taas kaysa sa unang job.
Well ngayon preffered ko parin naman yung WFH setup pero na pabor na rin hybrid(2x a week/month) para maiba lang yung paligid, nung una puro rejection lang natatanggap ko via email o ghosting kaso ngayon may calls na akong nakukuha. Hindi ko alam kung matatawa o maiinis ako na may mga calls akong natatanggap dahil majority ng calls na yun hindi nilalagay yung actual setup sa job posting nakalagay sa posting na "Remote" pero pag natanong ko na sasabihing hybrid na 4x a week o full rto na.
Natutuwa akong may calls, minsan na tatrain yung interview skills ko pero bakit puro full rto kahit nakalagay sa posting remote. Gusto ko man lang magshift sa finance o data analyst na career.

 | Unfortunately the Guppy died, but the ram is still alive so there is hope. I FOUND AN ABNORMALITY - These red worms sticking out from the anus. I’ve researched these to be camallanus worms and would like conformation. Because these guys would be in my main tank (not good). They are moving, so they are still alive in the dead guppy and I believe would be reproducing In the GBR. Currently treating with Aqua Ones Broad spectrum remedy (literally one dose of 5 ml in a 5 gal hospital tank) because in a flash of panic I diagnosed bacterial/fungal, but now I know it’s internal parasites. Can I please have confirmation on the parasite, then recommend treatment if the current one is not sufficient. I’ll go out and get medicine as soon as shops open!!! The closest I could get to night mode was using the photos watch face with some minimalistic complications and a black wallpaper. Then I set the color to deep red.
Anyone else know of tricks to get close to night mode on the watch 10? I’m really drawn that feature and don’t know why Apple has removed it from the watch 10 though there is no hardware limitation from stopping it!

I have created a small animation putting everthing which came to my mind at end up with this animation. I am planning to use it in my showreel video, customer testiomials, etc-(End-of Thinking Capacity). Yet, I think the current version is not really that good and lacks creativity.
