I love the features and power of this amp, but whenever I try to use it in a live situation there is a noticeable constant high pitched ringing. A few years ago I blew the fuse, and replaced it myself with a generic 5A fuse from the local electronics store. I used speaker wire and re-soldered it in. Everything worked again. I cleaned out the insides pretty good, but Im not sure if the introduction of amateur materials or a foreign fuse is causing this high pitched ringing. And I cant remember if it was ringing before I blew the fuse. Also could be that Im using the headphone jack as my line out to the di box. But it rings now even without the line connection. Is there anything I can do to save this beautiful amp?

the monkey raised up on me again, so yesterday i bought 64gb of ram and new processor but now im having mindtroubleshot, so here it is: i have 2600x aurous elite b450 32gb of not compatible ram, i bought a 5700x and 64 gb ram (4x16) 3200 (this time i check on compatibility). My tinking problem is: i have uptaded bios so the motherboard will go with the 5700x; so i tink i don have problem on that. But i have my personal fan so the 5700x i ordered is without fan i need to change it or it can stay, the fan (maybe a liquid monovent dissipator is better? i prefere fans)? The other one issue that i was tinking is: will 64gb ram not a problem for my mobo? i wanted to upgrade to this becouse of those facts, i wanna buy new pc when series 6000 comes out (yap skip 5000 for budget i just got fired this year...) so to keep on i just wanted to upgrade processor, (i have a 3060 asus), i bought the ram becouse i have 3600mhz dd4 crucial ballistic that is not compatible so i just run it xmp at 3200mhz or i have issue. anticipated greetins for all those who can aswer. ps i have antec 550 gold as psu 2 m2 2 hdd

My husband and I wanted to have a baby in a year or two when we would be more financially secure. I am currently unemployed but starting a job in 2 months where I would have full benefits, 6 weeks PTO, 3 month maternity leave, and my plan was to have a baby when I would hit the 1 year employment mark when I would be eligible for maternity leave, but I just found out Im pregnant yesterday. I was shocked and immediately went into a spiral of panic and I’m scared shitless, I spoke to my husband who would want to have the baby but would also 100% support my decision, we immediately went to planned parenthood and if id been able to be seen I would have probably gone through with it but they told us to come back another day, as the day went on seeing my husband so sad made me reconsider, I also read plenty of articles and posts here on reddit and see that most all people are shocked and panicky in the beginning when its unexpected and some also consider termination, gave me some relief. Despite my work situation, we are not struggling financially and have some savings, but it would be much harder when I have to stay home for maternity leave. Not sure if anyone has been in this situation, but terminating now and trying in 1-2 years when in better health and work situation seems like it would be better but at the same time I’m not sure. My plan was also to stop drinking and eating better and doing more physical activity for both me and my husband when we would want to conceive and now Im sad thinking I didn’t get to prepare how I would have wanted to give the baby the best chance. Please be kind as I am really going through it and So confused with so many variables in play.

Hi. Im new to PoE and im having a real hard time with scaling.
I have 3 chars for now:
-Ranger
-Witch
-Marauder
With witch and Ranger i kinda get it. Damage with bows, projectile speed and such. Witch more of the same with spell or elemental damage but im having a hard time finding wands with good options so im using 2 maces.
Now with marauder im kinda lost. I got a lot of passives that grant me physical damage but dont see any elemental damage around. Just stuff that boosts one or two handed. Damage is there im using vulcanic fissure and smite. But idk how those skills scale and if getting physical dmg is only boosting my autoattacks or skills scale from there. Can someone give me some hints?

2025.01.22 13:54 StrixLiterata General Game Design discussion: what mechanics from flight simulators like DCS could be brought to flight action games in the style of Ace Combat to make them deeper and more entertaining?
Let's start by saying that I do not care in the slightest about realism per se: I appreciate it and I believe some amount of it is necessary when making videogames about military conflict in settings that are close to our real present or history; but I am asking this question with the goal of creating a better play experience for a plane fighting videogame, not to better approximate reality.
I like flight action games like Ace Combat or Project Wingman, but those games are limited in their skill ceiling, in how much they can reward a player for mastery of their systems, because to make them so accessible and like an action movie they need to heavily streamline and simplify their mechanics.
I was inspired to ask this question by a series of shorts from Tabs_Original in which he breaks down engagements in this game, and in particular by how many considerations go into each fight compared to the typical engagement in non-simulation flight action games: the flight characteristics of planes at various speeds, momentum management, using the sun to jam heatseeking missiles, etc.
A very important consideration in game design is how many decisions a player is making at any given time: mowing down hordes of opponents with little thought is boring when compared about fighting few opponents that require you to constantly reassess what you're doing. From where I'm standing, it looks like players in this game make many decisions during fights.
Of course, there is still the fact that a simulation that trives for accuracy suffers from a high skill floor - the minimum level of skill required to make informed decision and meaningfully impact the outcome of a match while you're playing.
Because of this, plane fighting games are basically divided in two incompatible camps: demanding simulations and dumbed-down action romps.
I think it's high time for something to bridge the gap by using some mechanics typical of flight sims to make fights mechanically deeper and therefore more exciting, without requiring all the investment of time to learn the ins and outs of a full flight sim.
Which brings me back to the text of the question: which mechanics from this game, in your opinion, are relaitively easy to learn but lend a lot of depth to fight? To put it another way, if you were teaching this game to a complete noob, what would you teach them first that they could learn quickly and would help them a lot?

Hey folks,
Just wanted to share my story. I recently got ill (about 6 months ago) and was unable to work for a while. I decided to try out AOE4 as it reminded me of my younger years playing AOE2.
I was absolutely terrible at first, losing to AI Easy, making every mistake you could make and ofc, just enjoying building an army at 200 pop and fight to death (I still do).
With loads of practice, coaching sessions (shutout to coRe, Matiz & Elyona) and endless twitch streams, I have finally reached Conq.
Ngl, the badge looks sleek as f. I think I'll be playing team games for the rest of the season though :D

Hey friends, sending this message to tell all of you to be extremely aware of Retroid's return policy if you're considering purchasing a retro pocket.
I bought mine a few weeks back, and it started acting up pretty quickly. It was unstable, and the dock absolutely does not work. The video that's presented on the screen is unbelievably glitchy, and unplayable.
After watching retro game Corps Review this thing, I was extremely excited to get it and play with it. But upon using it for a couple days and realizing the dock issue, I reached out to Retroid regarding a return based on quality and satisfaction.
They proceeded to tell me that if I insisted on a return, they would honor it, but I had to pay the shipping. It was my first experience, having to ship a package to China, and I'm telling you right now that's why they have that in their return policy. I was quoted between $75 and $327... yes, you read that right, to send my retro and case and dock back in a very small box. Also, US Postal Service does not accept international packages for shipping that have lithium batteries in them so they're asking you to lie to US Postal Service to ship the package back.
Unless you are 100% sure that this is the right handheld for you and that you've held it and experienced the the way it plays, I would legitimately consider not dealing with this company. That type of return policy, putting the weight on the customer to pay the same amount of money that they paid for the system, For shipping is absolutely unacceptable.
Most companies like this have offices in the United States that you ship the package to and they deal with it from there, which explains why I've never had to ship a package back to China.
This was a joke. Absolute joke of an experience learned from my mistake.
