2025.01.22 11:35 Efficient-Swim-5483 Short guys who aren’t insecure about their height are more attractive than those with a complex?
I’ve been reading this sub the past few days and obviously a lot of guys have had rejection and/or negative comments about being short (shorter than 5’8 usually?) so I want to preface this by saying that I also do understand why a lot of people have a complex about it.
However, I’m 5’8 and my boyfriend of 10 years is 5’7, and has never once made a negative comment about his height, aside from once complaining that the pant leg lengths were too long in a store once (and acknowledged that was the store’s issue).
The majority of my boyfriends as a teenager were shorter or my height ish (5’5-5’9ish) and none of us had any issues with that. I also have quite a few male family and friends who are my height and shorter (including a 5’3 cousin) who embrace their height and all had/have partners because of it.
There is one guy I was friends with who was obsessed with being short (5’7) and constantly complained about it, about women only wanting tall guys and dismissing him, etc. He was the only one who could never get a girlfriend.
It leads me to assume that whilst height might be a factor to a certain degree with guys who are unlucky in love (especially initially on notoriously superficial dating sites), the sheer amount of confident short guys who have no issues dating or getting girlfriends suggest that the bigger issue is actually the insecurity and inferiority complex that comes with some short guys.
Surely it must be subconsciously off putting or a turn off to women who actually don’t care about a guy’s height (who are not the incredibly rare minority people seem to think either). Thoughts? Is it possible for guys to unlearn and stop caring about their height and thus become more appealing to women from that alone?

2025.01.22 11:35 Coconut202020 Hypersensitive Esophagus
Just went a upper GI endoscopy with a MiVu (mucosal impedance test) which showed that the probability of having GERD is only 12%. Throat and other parts looked fine. My gastroenterologist then diagnosed that I have hypersensitive esophagus.
Some of my symptoms: - Burning throat sensation (PPI helped) - Intermittent nausea / loss of appetite - Benign palpitations (Heart cleared by cardiologist)
He did not want to prescribe me anything and referred me to a psychiatrist, claiming my symptoms were due to anxiety / stress, but I personally do not think anxiety/stress is the root cause of this.
Should I go back and urge him to prescribe me some Amitriptyline or similar medication? Or should I heed his advice and see a psychiatrist.

You cannot use this for other people's benefit, so if your friends parks a broken car in your garage, you cannot use this power to fix it. If you buy it from them with the intention of working around this, Elvis will know your evil intentions and it will not work. You also cannot use this power for profit in any way (say order groceries for your next door neighbour and ask them to pay you for transport, for example). This will apply to anyone living in your household - so for example, if you live with your SO/kids, their clothes will also be taken care of, their rooms cleaned, etc. If you move in with 20 people to exploit this, Elvis will know and prevent it from working. You can use this power as many times as you want, as often as you want. Clapping your hands accidentally or with other intents (say you go to a birthday party) will not trigger it - you must mean it. However, you cannot use it partially. Say you crash your car, but cannot afford the parts - you cannot clap your hands just to get groceries. If it is below the price he wants for it, he will be angry and steal 75% of the money you offered him, and disappear forever. You can offer $0 (or whatever currency you want) if you simply don't think it's worth it. They money must be in your bank account or physically with you. Elvis does not care if you take out loans, work very hard or kidnap newborn babies to get it.

I'm am adding a 250 liter brewery to a hotel and its bar. I have the funds so I am not worried about going bust, but I still want it to succeed. I will be the brewer, and eventually want to hand its operation off to someone. In order to build my experience I am on track to brewing 90 batches within two years. The intent is to become very familiar with ingredients and make most of my mistakes on 9 liter batches. My clients are likely looking for crushable Helles and Pilsner style beers, thus, mastering Teutonic brews is essential; but I still want to have a broad spectrum of styles on tap. What critical considerations should I not overlook? Everyone is welcome to weigh in!
