2025.01.22 13:07 DiggityDog6 Does anyone else not care for Going Commando that much?

Don’t get me wrong, it’s a really good game. When I say “don’t care” for it, that’s in terms of the standards of R&C games, which means it’s still better than most other games. But in terms of Ratchet & Clank games, something about it just doesn’t grip me in the way that the first game, UYA, and Deadlocked do.
I will say, I’m biased with the first game because it was the first video game I ever played. So that explains why I tend to go back to that game more than any other game. But in terms of the other games, I would rather play UYA and Deadlocked any day of the week rather than Going Commando.
I think the biggest reason for this is the level themes. I tend to like more bright and colorful levels in my games, for example, “beach levels” are some of my favorite types of levels in games. But think about the opening levels up Going Commando. You have Oozla, which is all slimey and blah, then Maktar Resort which is in space so it’s at night. Then you have Megapolis which is kinda bright, but all the colors are just various shades of grey. Then you finally have Barlow, which is the first level with a theme I truly enjoy. And then right after that is 2 more super dark levels.
I won’t go through every level like that, but you get the picture. Compare this with the first game, which took Novalis and Metropolis before we reached a dark level with Aridia. Then the 3rd game which really only had 1 super dark level which was Mylon, the final level. I guess Aquatos is also a little dark, but we spend most of that level inside so it doesn’t bother me as much.
Also I think part of it might be how late you get Clank in Going Commando. In the first game, you technically have him at the beginning, but he doesn’t serve a purpose till level 2, and if you play them out of order, you could wind up playing Novalis and Aridia before getting Clanks abilities. In UYA, you have him from the tutorial level. But in Going Commando, it takes 3 levels at least to get him, and that isn’t including the tutorial and the flying section. And also, if you play the levels out of order, you could potentially play Barlow first which makes it the 4th planet before you get him. Which is something I did a lot as a kid since Barlow was the first planet I actually enjoyed in the game and I wanted to get to it as fast as possible.
Now all of this isn’t to say that the 2nd game doesn’t control amazing. I still think the control improvements are vastly superior to the first game, with the ability to strafe and the upgrading weapons. It adds a new layer to the gameplay that the first game couldn’t dream of. But it was very quickly outdone in UYA when UYA introduced lock-strafe mode, which is my preferred way to play any R&C game, and the new weapon level up system where weapons can level up more that once, which added even MORE depth to it. So whenever I go back and play Going Commando, it just makes me want to play games like UYA and Deadlocked more.
Does anyone else feel this way? I know that Going Commando is considered one of the all time greats of this series, so I feel like I’m in the minority here. But I know I can’t be the only one who feels a little less enthusiastic about Going Commando, right?

Hello fellow snake lovers, My boy Carl is getting a tank update and I could use some advice and suggestions. Included is a picture of his current set up. I have more aspen, spagnum moss, coco fiber and play sand to work with. He currently only has aspen in his tank but his humidity keeps dropping. I plan on moving his water dish to the hot side to help stimulate evaporation and increase the humidity. He’s also getting a couple more climby’s and I have some leaf clutter to add as well. Any suggestions on a good ratio for the substrate? I don’t want him to end up with mold or scale rot but I need his humidity to jump at least 5 degrees. And other suggestions would be welcome🫶

I’ve been taking test injections for like 7 weeks now and my mum has just told me that we’re going to Thailand for 6 weeks maybe more during the summer to help on my family’s farm. All the advice I’ve seen about taking testosterone abroad always mentions bringing a prescription which I obviously don’t have. I was just wondering if there’s any other option besides coming off of t since I’d rather not so early in my transition.

This might be a long thread but i think it’s useful for anyone who might be dealing with something similar.
I started taking Zoloft in 2018 and stopped taking in 2020 for most of that year until I quit weed and the brain fog from weed withdrawals was making me have bad panic attacks, so I decided to go back on it.
I should’ve stopped Zoloft earlier but anyways I stopped last year (Aug 2024)
In 2023, one random day I just noticed my stomach was making really noisy growling sounds after a meal, it was definitely not because I was hungry because I had just ate. Started dealing with constipation that would occur often. Got blood tests, came back normal, talked to a GI doctor and they told me that I might’ve had lactose intolerance (I should’ve mentioned if Zoloft could’ve been a contributing factor).
After that, it wasn’t bad, it somehow managed to settle a little bit, but I still had those weird symptoms but it never bothered me crazily.
Fast forward to august 2024 where I decided to quit, boom. Really weird bowel movements, cramps, going back and forth from diarrhea to constipation in an unpredictable manner.
About a week or two in I lost my appetite, but that only lasted about a week. But the gut issues seemed to persist and get overall really annoying.
Doing research about my symptoms, seems to be IBS caused by Zoloft withdrawal. Constipation, diarrhea, tenesmus. I believe the tenesmus is what I was also experiencing with feeling the urge to have a bowel movement, or urinate, but you physically cant.
It’s January 22 2025, still going on dealing with these problems. But, I have noticed the prevalence of them fade a bit, but they come and go in a very unpredictable manner. I’m just hoping it eventually gets better from here.
If anyone has any tips, similar experiences to this, I’d love to hear. I’m just hoping for things to pan out the way I would like.

I love Star Trek and I love Federation starships. Which is why its so hard when little nuances stand out and dont make sense. Take the existence of the Excelsior II Class. The 3 ships from Picard have lower registry numbers than the latest Excelsior II Class.
Was the Excelsior II an Excelsior Class I and upgraded? Or is the Excelsior II a bad design then engineers went back to the original Excelsior design? I feel like this disrepancy would have been handled with 82xxx registries instead of 42xxx. Note: They did the same thing with the Saber, Akira, Norway, and Steamrunner. How do they have lower registries than the Galaxy class?
