I hope this isn’t a silly question, but I could really use some guidance. I’ve been working as a DevOps Engineer for about 4 years, with a current CTC in the range of 20-25 LPA. I’m considering making a switch and am looking for opportunities in Mumbai. Ideally, I’m hoping for a hike of at least 50-60%, but I’m unsure whether that’s feasible in Mumbai, or if I should look for opportunities elsewhere.
Additionally, I’d prefer not to relocate, as I can’t leave my family. I’ve also considered remote job opportunities, but I’m concerned about the lack of job security with such positions.
Could anyone provide some insights or advice on this? I would greatly appreciate it!

2025.01.22 13:04 Hjamm Need advice for hikes for the upcoming season
Hi,
I've had a very intense and stressful 3 years of sitting the same pc doing mind numbing work. A couple years ago I started hiking and that's when I came across thru hiking. Since I learned of the PCT I have dreamed of doing it to reset after my work is done and live life, it's what has kept me going tbh. All last year I've been preparing with research + going on smaller trips like day/overnights and Alta via 1 and I've fallen even more in love.
Unfortunately, due to unforeseen delays in when I can finish work I'm going to fully finish in June/July rather than my PCT start date of May. I've been thinking of alternatives to try and capture a similar experience to what I hoped I would get from the PCT, here's my options, I'm European btw:
-Start PCT at Kennedy meadows in June/July
-Sobo PCT June/July start
-Via Alpina Red trail
-Various Shorter thrus around Europe(kungsleden, Slovenian mountain trail etc)
-1 shorter European thru and backpack Asia in late summeautumn (SEA/Japan/Korea)
-1 shorter thru and do Te Araroa in winter
What I hoped to get out of the PCT was solitude, wilderness, stunning scenery and nature. I'm not particularly interested in a massive social/party scene but would be great to meet other like minded people to hike with. I'd like to not spend a ton of money as I might try again for the PCT in 2026, I hike very cheaply.
Currently I'm leaning towards Via Alpina Red as it does look stunning but your never that far away from civilization. Plus it's not a popular trail, one guy on YouTube only met 1 other thru hiker the entire time. It does seem like an adventure though, there's various festivals which I could plan my route around attending to get a bit of social stuff in.
Smaller European thru hikes could give me a good variety of places to see (kungsleden being more wild, Slovenia with Alps) but flying around might get expensive. Also feels less like 1 big adventure.
Asian backpacking/te Araroa may eat into my savings, reducing my chances at hiking PCT in 2026. Not particularly wild either but I've never been to Asia and would love to experience it.
Sorry for the ramble but I'm just a bit stuck for what to do, please let me know what you think of my potential plans, do you have any ideas which I hadn't considered? What would you do?

Hello everyone, 21M here, 5'6, 209Lb, Black. I'm currently dealing with some constipation as a result of spiking my fiber intake too quickly. After a couple days of this, I decided to try to relieve the constipation by taking 300mg of sodium docusate for the next 5 days while also upping my water intake accordingly. Beyond this I have no existing medical issues nor am I on any medication (I don't drink, smoke or use drugs either).
With that said, I'm not exactly sure how I ought go about re-introducing fiber into my diet. I know the recommended daily amount is about 38g for men so do I just start back there or should I start at a smaller amount first? If so, how small?
My plan right now is to just omit all my fiber-rich foods on the first day, which would leave me at around 5g of fiber from everything else, then increase from there till I stablize. Would that be a good strategy?
Would appreciate any and all suggestions, advice and insights. Thanks!
