Honestly, we get very few X posts here so don't expect this to impact posting habits. If anything, with the difficulty in reading X posts after having to log in to the site, etc., it behaves a lot more like a paywalled sites these days and we already limit those.
Bottom line, while the mods have our own views on the appalling behavior demonstrated recently, this is what the community here has expressed they want to see. We're not just forcing this decision on everyone.

I didn’t take a picture, but we found some eggs that were empty, and a few dead bedbugs on them on the back of our couch! We have been dealing with them in our bedroom and my daughter’s room. We have been very vigilant and had good results— so I was very disappointed to find this. So we did the thing we have done upstairs -we vacuumed The whole couch took the covers off that could be washed, steamed the whole frame as much as we could let it dry and then covered the whole thing in a light dusting of diatomaceous earth. And then I started thinking that I probably should’ve found more actual bugs? And so now I’m questioning our throw rug on the floor. I don’t see anything and it’s multicolored and dark — I’m assuming I’m just going to have to steam that as well. Has anybody had any experience with couches and rugs? Any tips that you can share beyond what I’m already doing?
I should also mention that we also dusted the floor underneath the couch and the baseboards, and we also removed the electrical outlet cover covers checked in there, used some diatomaceous earth in them as well. I’m only concerned because I have a new bite on my ankle and I don’t see anything in my bedroom and I have a feeling that it’s from down here somewhere.
Perhaps our coffee table? I don’t see anything but this is getting crazy.

So it’s not that I don’t like Rochester I live by Oxford st the apartment I’m in it’s issue after issue my room number 1 it’s freezing outside I get home my pc is brick cold and making loud sounds . And I wanna get a new pc for streaming and stuff but why would I do that if it’s going to just get bricked everything is so cold and the landlord doesn’t care. I’m forced to use a space heater which you are not even supposed to do:. The lease is up may 1st I just don’t want to deal with this shit everything I say is ignored so I resent the place it’s like I have to put everything on hold that I planned on doing because my electronics just brick when I touch them they’re ice cold my cat hates it here because he’s freezing : the heat is already on it’s just my room is attached to a poorly insulated balcony , so In my head I’m like if my room isn’t a resonable temperature and my shit breaks why would I pay you ? I’m not going for that do something about the cold I have to email like everyday now and nothing ever gets done

I've recently just come to realise that the formula v2.5 wheel that came with my clubsport dd+ f1 racing wheel bundle , it doesn't seem to work on my other CSL GT dd pro wheel base , LEDs ,buttons all the functions don't work when inserted and when I try to do a firmware update , it says that the base is unable to ping the wheel.but the wheel works fine on my clubsport dd+ base that it came with.
Im very surprised to have realised that this the case as I would have figured that it would work the same as the normal clubsport formula v2. 5 for playstation. Would anyone here confirm this to be true or is it just my particular wheel that's acting up. I'm on QR2 for everything.Thanks in advance with anyone with clues to this🍻..

2025.01.22 15:41 Sufficient-Back-9851 Best way to optimize network in my condo?

I've been living in a condominium unit here in the Philippines and that my building only has 2 ISP Providers that you can choose from (the other option is out of the conversation since it has very bad service). I am forced to go with the best option possible and that it doesn't even have fiber yet. Added to that, most (60-70%) of the tenants in my 30-storey building are using the same ISP. I got the 500MBPS plan and boy does it not feel like I have the full 500mbps. Back at home I only have the 300mbps plan and I could easily say that the network back home is faster than that of my condo network.
I've been searching for ways to optimize the network since I am now sharing it with another person who lives next door (cousin) and it slows down drastically whenever the both of us are in our condos using our gadgets/devices. I have my computer plugged to the ethernet port of the modem+router and it still slows down especially on times that there are heavy workload. I've been meaning to ask so that I could avoid buying the wrong devices for my network optimization.
What would you suggest that I do or buy in order to optimize my condo network?

2025.01.22 15:41 TheGuiminator Find Out How Happy You Are: My Personal Guide to measure your happiness

Every once in awhile, I like to do a review and self-critique of my own life, using a 0-to-10 scale to gauge my happiness and track my progress. To make this more structured, I break it down into six categories ( finance, career, relationships, look, hobbies and self improvement) evaluating each category on a 0 to 10 scale and then calculate an overall score at the end in my conclusion. Keep in mind, this is a purely subjective metric and what’s good for me might not be good enough for you. Since a new year has just started, I thought it was the right time to self-reflect, so I’ll start.

Finance (5/10)

This is probably my weakest area, but progress is being made. I started taking finances very seriously about a year ago. I’ve developed a genuine obsession with improving my financial situation, reading books, and regularly educating myself. However, my bad financial habits from the past make this bounce back difficult, and regaining stability has been a challenge. Fortunately, things are slowly improving.
If I don’t run into bad luck and things keep going well, I’ll clear my remaining debts, and my situation will improve significantly. Within a year, I could have 3 to 6 months’ worth of monthly salary in savings, enough money for a down payment on a house, and investments that continue to grow, raising my score to a potential 7-7.5

Professional Career (7/10)

I fairly enjoy my current job, earning a decent salary. I’ve experienced a pretty dramatic improvement as I went from being a not so good employee to becoming a credible and reliable ressource. I’ve significantly improved my reputation, which has made my job much more enjoyable.
I’ve also been thinking about starting a side hustle as a personal trainer for a long time. I know I’ll have to make a move and stop waiting for “the perfect time” to start.On the more unrealistic side of things, my boyhood dream of becoming a pro wrestler is still floating in my head, but being a father of two young babies and dealing with finances make things complicated, so I might keep that project in my fantasies instead.
Maybe pursuing my current full-time job while transitioning into the personal trainer route could help “fill the void” I’ve felt all my life.

Relationships (8.5/10)

This is probably the area that has improved the most and contributes the most to my happiness. I have a fulfilling relationship with my girlfriend, we have a 2-year-old toddler and a 5-month-old daughter, and we’re planning to have another child. I have 2-3 close friends and a handful of buddies, as well as a good relationship with my immediate family, which is more than enough for me as an introvert.

Appearance: look & Physique (7.5/10)

While it may seem superficial, feeling good in my own skin does have an influence on my overall happiness. It’s important to like the person I see in the mirror everyday . I’m very hard on myself and constantly look for ways to improve my appearance. I try to maximize everyting (skincare, haircut, fashion, style, etc). I’ve also been working out for 16 years, being in shape isn’t just a priority, it’s part of my identity and core values. ‘I’m auto evaluating myself being decent looking, with a good to really good physique. That said I’m still not 100% satisfied. I’ve been chasing a “top-tier look” for as long as I can remember, which often leaves me feeling perpetually unsatisfied.

Hobbies and Activities (7.5/10)

This section is about how I take time to enjoy life, which is often tied to finances. For instance, if you love traveling but are constantly in debt, it might be hard to satisfy this category. For me, it’s not too difficult, since I’m a simple guy who enjoys routine. I manage to find moments of pleasure, even if I don’t explore much beyond my usual horizons. Honestly, it’s not something that really bothers me as long as I can find balance between work, family and having fun

Self-Improvement (7/10)

I feel that I’m better at applying my knowledge in self improvement , which is the hardest part imo. I also realized that my self-improvement journey hasn’t been linear. For the last 3-4 years, I’ve been regularly writing down my thoughts and states of mind. It helps me a lot to channel my emotions and serves as a great way to release them.
My biggest challenge has been maintaining a positive mindset consistently, whether in good or bad times. It’s not perfect, but I’m getting there slowly.
Conclusion (42.5/60)
To sum it all, 42.5/60 equals roughly 71% on my happiness-o-meter, a significant improvement from a couple years ago when I was around 50%. So this is a big win for me. While I’d say I’m decently happy overall, there’s still something missing. To reach the next level, upgrading my finances could be a real game-changer, simultaneously elevating other aspects of my life and its something I’m actively working on.
