I recently interviewed for a Business Analyst role. I thought the interview went really well. Later that day I got the mail that I was not selected for the next round. This really confused me so I called the HR and asked her the reason for rejection. She read back the reason that the interviewer had provided. It said that I was relying too much on past experiences and didn't know how to handle a new situation.
What had happened was that they asked me how would I decide which automation solution to go for if a new project came up and I told them how I had done this in the past and how I would use the same process if something new came up.
Also, during the interview one of the guy kept mixing ML and NLP so I had to correct him.
I don't get it. Isn't having past experience a good thing. Am I not supposed to use my 9 years of experience and start anew every time? Do you think they were pissed off that I corrected them.
I just wanted some outside opinion.

Jan 22 (Reuters) – Zimbabwe’s finance minister expressed concern on Wednesday that a U.S. withdrawal from the World Health Organization will lead to aid cuts to countries such as his that are most affected by HIV/AIDS.
President Donald Trump signed an executive order on the U.S. withdrawal after his inauguration to a second term on Monday.
Warning that a U.S. withdrawal could signal cuts in health aid to countries such as Zimbabwe, Finance Minister Mthuli Ncube said: “Any country with an HIV/AIDS challenge will be impacted.”
“This is a concern, a fear we are expressing,” Ncube told an online briefing from the Swiss resort of Davos, where was attending the World Economic Forum.
Zimbabwe receives over $200 million annually from the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), and the U.S government has given Zimbabwe over $1.7 billion since 2006 to strengthen health systems and support people living with HIV, according the U.S. embassy in Harare.
PEPFAR contributes nearly $90 million a year to support salaries and incentives for healthcare workers in Zimbabwe, in addition to funding HIV and viral load testing, prevention, cervical cancer screening and tuberculosis treatment.
Zimbabwe is struggling to fund its public health system, and the government introduced a sugar tax on beverages last year to help raise funds for cancer treatment. Another tax on fast foods was introduced this year.
Prior to President Donald Trump’s inauguration on Monday, GLAAD had catalogued more than 50 links to LGBTQ- and HIV-related content on White House web pages and on websites for the State Department and the Departments of Education, Justice, Defense, Health and Human Services, and Labor, along with other agencies like the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
As of Tuesday, GLAAD specifically found that terms like “lesbian,” “bisexual,” “gay,” “transgender,” “sexual orientation,” “gender identity,” and “LGBTQ” are “no longer accessible on WhiteHouse.gov,” while “some LGBTQ-specific pages have been taken down from sites for the Centers for Disease Control, Department of State, and more.”
Among the pages that are no longer accessible on WhiteHouse.gov are an equity report from July 2021, a fact sheet with information on expanding access to HIV prevention and treatment from March 2024, and information about Pride Month.
Among the entries on federal agency websites that are no longer available are 94 entries for “LGBT Rights” that were once published on the State Department’s site and dozens of links to information and resources on “LGBTQI+ Policy” that were once available on the Department of Labor website.

2025.01.22 14:52 Academic_Nectarine94 What issues will I run into switching from mac to pc?
I have a MBP with the m1 Max chip. It has more than enough power, but the reliability of the computer is not good (screens get moved in the computer's layout, DV pops up on random screens, partial files brick Finder if I try to delete them, accessory has no power, etc). Even issues I've been told are inherent to me trying to use 3 monitors on a laptop
I'm also a PC guy, so it's just frustrating to need to Google ctrl+alt+del once a month to figure out how to get the thing to turn off and vet it's head back on straight.
Anyway, I want to move to a desktop PC (which yes, will have its own issues, but at least I'll know what and how to fix them. Or at least have some idea of how).
What will I encounter that might be an issue?
I know there's something about encoding that Mac does better, but I'm planning on an NVIDIA 4080 (maybe a super, idk if they make a super at the 4080 level ) or 4090, so it should be able to do it, right? Is there another card or something I can plug in that does that job?
Also, Intel seems to be on a streak of blasting their own feet, I think they're up to the kneecaps by this point. Is there really a problem with getting a top tier AMD cpu? I get it's not as powerful, but does anyone know what the actual difference would be? Would it be that much slower, and will I notice the difference with super simple edits? (Will it be littering as I scrub the playhead? Will it take 4x as long to render? Etc).
Sorry for the vague questions, but I really am interested in learning what the issues are. I hate this computer, and I'm not really interested in getting a new one since the issues I'm having seem somewhat common, and I have NO interest in having a laptop. No need.

My son is turning 10 and asked for an Xbox for his birthday in a couple weeks. I’ve done some research and decided to get him a Series X (1TB) as it seems like a great option for my budget. I just have some questions about games/game play.
He specifically wants to be able to play Madden 25, FC 25, and Halo Infinite. As far as I can tell, Madden and FC25 won’t be coming to game pass until after the Super Bowl and mid Summer (respectively). The digital downloads of both are reasonably priced and he doesn’t necessarily need/want to play any other EA Sports games so I was thinking I’d just get Game Pass Standard and then the digital download versions of those two games. He also wants to play franchise mode on Madden and from what I’ve seen he would be able to, going this route.
Wanting to make sure I’m on the right track here so I don’t ruin his birthday lol Any input or advice appreciated!

Hey -
I just bought a Hota D6 Pro on Amazon, but found shortly thereafter that they're ~$30USD cheaper via AliExpress. I'm debating keeping the one I have from Amazon because I'm worried I'm at higher risk of getting a clone/fake/counterfeit from AliExpress. The counterpoint is really that the one on Amazon could be a more expensive fake.
Anyone have:
- a way to tell whether the charger is genuine
- experience that might indicate whether chargers on AliExpress are occasionally fake or less reliable
