I'm going to Lion Claws this year and my group is recommending a proper plate carrier but I can't see any real benefit to getting one aside from immersion.
I've been playing for the better part of 10 years and have never needed a real plate carrier. I normally just run a basic Amazon chest rig that allows for 4 mags, a grenade, and 2 pistol mags with a dangler pouch for an Odin speed loader.
As a note, I will assume an anti vehicle role so I'll have a small backpack anyway.
What am I missing? Are plate carriers really worth it for Lion Claws?

I wanna save any potential reader of this post from the scam i faced. The brand is called shadesshiftt, and you’ve probably seen similar companies online selling those “detachable tints” that slide into the windows and come out and all. They make it seem so simple and realistic in the ads, but it’s total bullshit. I ordered a pair for 2500 for my toyota yaris 2023, and straight off the bat they weren’t even sliding inside. After almost 1-2 hours of attempting they slid in, but they didn’t move up and down with the windows (what’s the point of them then). I messaged and called the company but got no proper response and instead they started blaming my car saying it has “dust in the windows”? Some guy on insta told me try double tape, but that didn’t work either. Few days later i threw them in the trash, save your money guys.
