2025.01.22 15:47 Feisty_Stomach7015 These dialogue lines in ”Se7en” have always bugged me
These lines (perhaps coupled the execution of them) have always come across as amateurish to me for some reason. I’m gonna be paraphrasing, but right at the beginning of the movie, just before Brad Pitt makes his first appearance, Morgan Freeman asks a cop at the crime scene ”Did the kid see it?” (refrencing the murder or whatever it was) and the cop replies something like ”what kinda f*cking question is that? You know, we’re all gonna be real glad to get rid of you. Did the kid do it? Always these questions with you.”
Like, who would reply something like that to Somersets question? He’s obviously concerned with the mental health of the kid. Why so salty, for no reason haha?
The second line is when Somerset, also quite early in the movie - right before the first deadly sins murder - asks Mills ”What exactly was the point of the conversation you were about to get in to?” refrencing Mills interaction with the police officer outside of the crime scene, who hadn’t made sure the victim was dead.
I can’t put my finger on it, because this line dosen’t come across as bad when I just typed it myself, but it just seems like kinda amateurish to me.
Am I completely over-analyzing this, do you think I’m wrong or have you got more lines of dialogue you’d like to share from this otherwise very good, stylish and clever movie? Please comment!

happened to scratch a parked car. nothing serious damage worth 200-300. i tried to settle with the party, offered to get it fixed. but they didnt accept. so i had to file for a claim. now the bill is 2600 and i have the claim number and sent it to him. met him last night, talked about a cash settlement.. its a rare chance he goes through but if he does, can i withdraw my claim? and what should be the reason of withdrawal. the insurance is aami and im fairly new to this whole thing. please any help is greatly needed.
