Hello all!
I’ve recently come into my faith and have turned to God. I am very late to the game as I stopped going to church when i was a teenager.
I’ve bought a study bible. I’m having a really hard time reading the Bible in old English and getting my brain to comprehend the verses. Is there a Bible that is translated into a contemporary English version? Idk idk if this is a silly question or not.

The professor I work for is upset with me for an email greeting, so I figured I’d ask here to see if she’s overreacting or if I’m in the wrong.

She did not answer for over 24 hours ( which is a whole separate issue), but I really needed a response. So, I replied to that email
Good afternoon, …..
She is upset that I didn’t use her name both times, but I have always been told good morning/afternoon is a fine greeting. Also, they are in the same thread, so I didn’t feel the need to use her name twice in the same thread. Finally, I had used good morning/afternoon many time previously when emailing her. Am I in the wrong or is she just nitpicking?

I am a STEM (biology) major currently working in research, planning to target the 2026 intake.I am a total newbie to GMAT prep and need help kickstarting my prep.
Initially, i thought quant would be my strength, but after watching a few videos on yt and posts on reddit, I've realized it might need more work than expected. Verbal is still stroger section for me, but i want to focus on improving both areas.
Currently, i acn dedicated 10-15 hours a week to the prep, which might increase in the future.
I've seen lot of positive feedback about TTP, but the gost feels a little steep for me at the moment. Im wondering if the OG guide, official books, and the free resources available online would be sufficient to build a solid prep.
Any thoughts or suggestions on how to kickstart my prep would be greatly appreciated. TIA!

Yes, another little rant about ranked play.
I’ve given up playing ranked in Rivals. I don’t know what it is - maybe the lack of placement matches dumping everyone into bronze 3, or maybe the fact that I usually play support so I’m more at the mercy of my team than other roles… But I was having a hell of a time just getting out of bronze 3, even with getting more mmr for wins than losses.
This isn’t my first hero shooter or anything, either. I was around high Diamond to low Masters in Overwatch 1 as support, but Rivals just feels different. I play mainly support here as well, Mantis and Cloak&Dagger primarily.
Yet for some reason in rivals I just can’t win consistently. I’ll win a couple rounds then just go on a loss streak that seems totally unavoidable. I’ve moved up a rank or two a couple times only to get swatted right back down into bronze 3 with a loss streak.
And bizarrely every game is a stomp one way or the other. Either my team breezes through for an easy win or we’re spawn camped with little in between.
Im sure part of it is that I’m just not as good at rivals as I was at Overwatch 1, but I don’t think I’m so bad as to be at the literal lowest rank. I also know part is that I’m not willing to grind it out as much as I was years ago, but that brings me to the title.
I just got fed up after my second time deranking due to yet another 0-3 loss. So now I just play quick play, and I’m happier for it. I even get to dps sometimes now, as no one really does coherent team comps in qp anyway.

Has anyone listened to the audiobook of the devil rides out by Dennis Wheatley?
I read the book years ago, and I'm currently listening to the Christopher Lee version (couldn't be a more perfect narrator for the book), and noticed there's another version on audible as well
The Lee version is about 6 hours long, and the other version narrated by Nick Mercer is over 13 hours - does anyone happen to know why that is?
Is the Lee version a shortened abridged edit of the book? Or does Mercer really narate at half the speed of Lee? I've tried googling but can't find out, and don't really want to used another credit and 13 hours to find out
