2025.01.22 20:48 aeverhart004 I want to get a betta again, any suggestions?
I haven't had a Betta in a couple of years and would like to get one again in the next couple of months. My goal is to have a 5 gallon tank and maybe a small tankmate (possibly a snail or an African dwarf frog).
I've never had live plants before, but I heard they are better for Bettas so I'd like to start that too.
I haven't been into fish keeping for years so I need some advice and a little refresher on the things I'd need for my future fishie! I want to make sure I get the proper filter, heater, decor, etc to make this bettas life the best I can possibly give it. Any advice is welcome!

2025.01.22 20:48 MegalodonGargantuan A5X2 Manta-University student perspective
General thoughts coming from rM2- I have been using my Manta for about two weeks total- one week in classes. So far, its excellent for reading EPUBS (except that you can't delete EPUB pages) and writing notes for class. The Digest feature is very useful for my book club and personal reading. However, I have run into minor annoyances when annotating lecture slide PDFs. This is something that the rM2 did much better (adding PDF pages, automatically moving to landscape mode upon opening the file, zooming was much more smooth). However, since I purchased the Manta primarily for note-taking in the notebook format, it is significantly better (Headings, linking pages, applying custom templates). I wish that there were a highlighter that would be yellow upon exporting or viewing in the supernote app (unlike using marker pen on light grey mode). I also wish that there were an option to always open a PDF document to the first page, as that is where my planner index is. If this exists and I simply have not found it, please let me know!
Templates-I found that the lines on the built in templates were a bit faint for my preferences, so I asked Chat GPT to make an 8mm rule lined template with the appropriate dimensions, and it worked perfectly. I love the flexibility of the supernote software when it comes to customization!
Gestures- The gestures on both the sidebar and screen work well. I wish there were a "go back" gesture that worked systemwide. For example, the swipe upwards gesture to return to the page that contains a link is perfect, and I wish it would be adapted as a general "back from where you came" gesture.
Atelier- Atelier is nice, but it lacks a few key features (line snapping, shapes, changing brush/pen size). I do appreciate that the rM2 had many more options for brushes and pens, and look forward to seeing more of those on the Supernote (hopefully soon)! A shape-filling tool would be amazing for drawing diagrams in both notes and atelier.
Sleeve/protection- I have seen a few people asking about carrying sleeves for the Manta. I purchased [this one](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B083HZCK1W?ref=ppx\_yo2ov\_dt\_b\_fed\_asin\_title&th=1) and it fits the device+pen in the loop perfectly. The front pocket works well for the charging cable.
DIY Pen- I made a DIY pen with the ceramic nib and am very happy with my choice. You can see in the picture that the Kaweco Sport ballpoint in Frosted Coconut fits the Manta's theme well. I spent about $28 on the pen and $45 on the nib. No modifications were needed-I only removed the ink and spring from the Kaweco and inserted the refill. It works perfectly, and I appreciate that the cap screws onto the pen so I don't fear the nib getting damaged when not in use. I switched to the size L pen loop as well.
Battery- With wifi, supernote cloud sync, and text recognition on, I am getting around 3 days of battery life. This is plenty for my heavy usage.
Overall- I am loving using the Manta as it suits nearly all my needs as a college student! It is a much better experience compared to the rM2, though missing a few features that I used a lot. I hope some of you benefit from this brief review and feel free to give suggestions or leave any questions you may have.

2025.01.22 20:48 OddlyLucidDuck They really got their money's worth out of Jack (Danny's son) in the finale
I find it interesting how they incorporate Niki and Jack since the actors left the show for college and only return once in a blue moon. Jack in particular just disappeared from the show for the last few years. The family dinner in the finale was cracking me up because they seemed to really want to give Jack as much screen time as possible with reaction shots seemingly every single time someone else spoke. He doesn't talk until near the end of the scene, either, so I spent the first half thinking that they were trying to pay him less for a non-speaking role and making up for it by giving him extra reaction shots haha.

So, today I have acquired an Epiphone Les Paul 1959 Standard (2020). It is my first proper guitar. I mean, I had some, but it was things like Epiphone Les Paul 100, Harley Benton TE62 and such. It wasn’t bad in any way, just… You know the difference. And new Epi is a BLAST. Like, literally, I am sitting here and smiling right now. Neck is the thing I need to get used to, but other way around it’s great. I got it used (not mint, but in a pretty good shape) and not for cheap, but it was a love from the first sight and I can’t be happier. Photo doesn’t do any justice to the guitar, actually it looks much nicer in person.
I guess the whole point of that post is to brag a little and just vent out in a good way.
