Hey all, DM on my 4th year and 3rd campaign here.
I'm currently running a war campaign with 5 PCs at Level 6. Right now I'm planning an upcoming encounter during which they need to defend a single location (not object or person, but rather lasting control of a location) from an invading force that seeks to eliminate the current holders and take control themselves. Essentially it's a (good) Witch's Grove whose coven protects a massive cache of magical gems underneath it - enemies want to capture the location and want control of the resource.
Currently, I have planned for the PCs to teleport/be teleported to the location needing defending at the first signs of the invasion - i.e. the witches say, "hey they're coming, we need help" and trigger a given-beforehand item that teleports the party there - leading for the PCs to be pulled away from their following companies of soldiers that they lead.
For the encounter, I am thinking of it being a "hold out until your backup arrives" kind of thing, but I'm trying to prevent it from being a soulless slog. I'm already planning on using minions (MCDM), combined stat blocks (Hordes, groups of enemies), and homebrew stats for the other witch defenders to give general help to the party/fight (heals, advantage, deal damage, etc.) - I believe that I've streamlined the mechanics* as best as I can from my side, but I'm trying to find the sweet spot as far as balance goes, how long to have the PCs hold out for, if there are better ideas for this encounter etc.
Essentially, it's my first thought to say "you know your soldiers can get here in x rounds, SURVIVE" with mostly minions or weenies showing up every round but a solid group of interesting enemies to tousle with for most of the battle. Maybe I roll something up top to decide how many rounds or distance their backup is from them? I'm not even sure if I should use rounds, if I should have them roll for their allies to show up with decreasing DCs, other suggestions, etc.
What do you all think?

 | So after the last update on Friday? I can barely log in after 30 min because the camera won't start to let me log in and when I do get the pin log in screen I can't use the Bluetooth keyboard at all, I can't get into the settings screen (fc, or extreme lag indicating Windows crashed), very limited in running any options.... Is there any way I can get it to restore from a previous Windows version? I just can't use either the settings page or keyboard. Can I even boot into safe mode without a keyboard? I dated this guy a year ago, and basically he cheated on me after I got severely ill with pneumonia. I was 17 and he was 21.
I only realized his true colours afterwards. He was a gambling addict, dropout, and fuckboy. He’d love bomb all these women and then cheat on them afterwards and laugh in their face.
I knew about his tough childhood so I let it slide, and 3 months after our relationship ends, he asks me if I could be a reference for his job. I agreed to it because I felt bad for him.
A month goes by, and all the sudden I’m receiving tons of calls. He’s been using me and my family’s names under all his bank loans, and even tried to get me to invest my savings account into his “business”.
Out of the good of my heart during the relationship— I drove him to work everyday, bought him food, and introduced him to my family. Yet he repays this by cheating on me and trying to scam me out of my life savings? My goodness.
Anyway, is there anything I can do to give this guy hell? I’ve lost all sympathy for him, and I want this guy to face karma. I already got on the line with the bank employee and revealed all his actions. Is this enough or can I still do more?

Hi, I'm trying to set up a revolut trading account with flexible funds.
I opened my account from Switzerland as a fiscal resident but I'm a european national.
Today I learned that due to "factors" that the customer service won't disclose, my account has been opened with Revolut Ltd and not Revolut Bank UAB. Yet, investment services are not available for swiss accounts opened with Revolut Ltd. I cannot migrate from one to another, the process seems to be not implemented yet.
Customer service tells me to close my account and reopen it, but still without knowing if I am going to be registered with the right entity (Revolut Bank UAB). I find this quite absurd.
Has anyone else experienced and solved this ?
