I have a 4-year old Cavachon, who up until bed last night, was acting normally. She is very active, loves to play and jump on and off furniture.
This morning she began acting clingy and whining, when I went to pick her up and put pressure on her chest, she yelped out in pain. She is also yelping when she stretches out. Other than that, she is not whining, expressing pain and is okay with us petting and loving on her.
She is usually picky with food and water, and did eat some pumpkin and eggs this morning, as well as a treat. She is not drinking much water. She has spent most of today curled up in her dog bed.
There is no swelling, drooling, limping, difficulty breathing- but I am worried about the lack of food and water intake. This has only been for today, she ate and drank just fine yesterday and passed stool/urine normally last night and this morning. There is some off and on again panting.
We called her vet and they said that we didn’t need to seek out emergency vet, but could call them tomorrow.
Is there anything else we should or could be doing? Is it normal for dogs to eat and drink less when they are in pain?

This is something a few people have reached out to me about on Discord and Reddit over the last few weeks, though not something I really considered actively pursuing. But here I find myself bored at home on what would normally be a worknight, because fancy that, one of the little school buggers gave me Covid [don't worry folks, you can't catch Covid watching The Gungies].

"With there now being 5 omicrons in the Episode Store, am I able to keep up without having to buy the Episode Pass?"
Reminder: Only 3 of those omicrons are required to keep up with our old omicron income, 2 of them are additional new income.
General math to keep in mind:
- Here's my most up to date Episode Track update math
- Note: Clearly it was bugged this time and the first few levels were not correctly set, however CG did fix this by giving everyone the episode points to make up for it.
- Each Omicron Costs 1,600 EP
- There are 41,000 Episode Currency available without buying the Episode Pass
- Yes, even F2P players can earn the bonus episode currency after the reward track
- An Episode Month is 28 days
I'm just kidding, long winded part ahead. . .
- This means you'll need to get to level 46 on the Episode Track in order to be able to actively purchase all of the Omicrons [35,000 currency at this level, so 3,000 left over].
- You'll be 1,500 EP short if you only make it to level 41, however keep in mind that if you've been "slightly hoarding" all the extra. . .Or if you do exceptionally well one month and hit a bunch of bonuses, but take it easy the next month. . .You can probably make up the difference without much effort.
- To get to Level 46, you'll need about 1,925 EP per Galactic Challenge [not including the 2 lowest marquee tiers, which I've already included in the math in the last post]
You'll be left with 9,000 currency after all your omicrons, so what should you buy?
- 5 total kyrotech purchases will cost you 8,750
- 15 total omegas will cost you 9,000
- You can buy 3 sets of the more expensive shards for 7,500
- Or 6 sets of the less expensive shards for 9,000
- 2 sets of Microattenuators will set you back 8,000

The 3rd Combined Joint Task Force, colloquially known as the Rough Riders, is a special purpose task force created by NATO JSOC with the intent of deterring CSAT influence in the Mediterranean and abroad. Falling under US Central Command, the Rough Riders are a unit hand picked from volunteers across all NATO/ANZUS operating forces. Typically, the Rough Riders are attached to conventional NATO forces to serve as force multipliers. They specialize in Direct Action, Counter-Insurgency, Special Reconnaissance, and forward observation for NATO fire support assets.
What we do:
The year is 2026, and the world stands poised for great change. With rising tensions in the Middle East and the Pacific, a new world power has emerged: the Canton protocol Strategic Alliance (CSAT). Premiered by China and Iran, this new treaty organization stands poised to threaten NATO's long-reigning global military hegemony. A new Cold War has begun.
In the face of this new threat, NATO Joint Special Operations Command has authorized the formation of a special purpose unit to directly intervene against CSAT’s growing sphere of influence. As a member of the Rough Riders, you will witness firsthand the years leading up to ArmA 3’s “The East Wind” campaign and the vibrant political climate of 2035. Your actions and the actions of your brothers in arms will tell the story of NATO defiance in the face of CSATs rise to power. You’ll have epic tales to tell, comrades to mourn, and more than enough action.

In the Rough Riders, we've built our community around making the junior enlisted experience as drama-free as possible. We believe that solid milsim operations can still work without suffocating our enlisted with constricting MOS systems and countless hours of basic training. The idea is that new members can join the unit, download the mods and jump right into the action.
This is made possible by increasingly serious levels of milsim orientation the further up the chain of command you go. Your average player can jump right into fun and challenging operations if their Fireteam and Squad Leaders have the adequate training and mentality. By volunteering to try for a leadership position, you increase your commitment and seriousness level.
Accessible milsim means that you choose the level of dedication and milsim seriousness that you want. From casually showing up to be boots on the ground blowing stuff up, to managing training and combat leadership, all the way to the paperwork simulator that comes with an officer commission.
You get out what you put in.
Training:
You don't need to be a grizzled ArmA veteran to join the Rough Riders. Our simple training program is intended to bring even brand new players up to speed without killing them with boredom. You can expect to learn the following:
- TFAR Setup
- Rough Riders Intro (who we are, what we do, expectations-both ways)
- Intro to Unit Life (who you are, what you'll be doing as a new member, chain of command)
- Role Interest Declaration (helps us shape and personalize your training)
- ArmA Basics
- ACE Basics
- TFAR Basic Training
- Common Sense Combat/Fireteam Training
- CQB Basic Training
Between deployments, we do a garrison rotation that is focused on catching any new members up to speed and helping veteran members and NCOs grow and improve. The Hebontes schedule is a several week process. This allows for the writing/zeusing team to have time to create a quality deployment with all the necessary lore bits and planning considerations, while giving the unit time to relax and make mistakes in a controlled and learning-focused environment.
Opportunities:
Rough Riders members fill a multitude of roles, and are allowed to switch between them for different missions so long as they have passed the appropriate training. Roles available to Rough Riders are:

Leadership opportunities are made available to interested members who are noted to possess technical competency and the ability to communicate effectively. Through a program we call the Warrior Leaders Course, NCO candidates are put to the test via a series of written and field exams. We have systems in place for leadership development too- so if you’re not ready to lead now (but want to), we can teach you how to be a leader.
Community members may join our writing/zeusing team and contribute to the development of our world in-game. It is expected that these individuals be team players overall, and be able to understand and support the bigger picture as determined by the administration team. At the end of the day it's about making sure the players had fun, and telling a memorable story/giving them opportunities to have stories about the operation- not about how cool you are as a Zeus.
**Designated Marksman/Sniper School is open to Rough Riders with a score of 38+ (Expert) on their Rifle Qual, who have achieved the rank of Lance Corporal. Members are eligible for promotion to Lance Corporal after one (1) full deployment with the unit.
Operations:
We operate Monday/Friday/Saturday starting at ~7pm-~8pm EST. Tuesday-Thursday and Sunday are off days and Squad Leaders may run trainings if requested or if they see fit. Members typically play other games in the discord together on these off days as well.
There is no mandatory attendance expectation- we want to see you around, but everyone understands that real life comes first.
We operate on a deployment system, meaning that we spend prolonged periods of time in various regions of the world participating in roughly 1-2 month long persistent environments. Between these deployments we dedicate a few weeks to retraining the unit, catching new players up on anything they haven't already figured out during their deployment, and testing NCO candidates while our Zeus/Writer team works on the next deployment.
Information:
Founded September 2018, Rough Riders is actively seeking new members to help increase our core of dedicated players. We operate with a reinforced platoon (~40ish) that includes infantry and a myriad of support elements also manned by our members.
The Rough Riders consists of primarily North American (NA) members, and so most things are scheduled with that in mind. We do however have an international community with wonderful members from places like Australia, Laos, Russia, and elsewhere. Anybody and everybody is welcome in the Rough Riders- we just ask that you are able to speak, read, and understand English.
To join, simply join our discord and introduce yourself! No application necessary, and no sitting through hours of tedious basic training just to blow things up.

The address listed wasn’t far—Polton Industrial Estate, just outside the town limits. Evan knew the place. It was a desolate sprawl of crumbling warehouses and rusted fences, the kind of spot no one went unless they had a reason. But the offer? £50 an hour. That was a reason.
He couldn’t afford to question it. With rent overdue and his landlord threatening eviction, the timing was too perfect to ignore. A few hours of babysitting some facility for that kind of money? Easy.
Evan arrived at Polton as the sun dipped behind the hills, the pale glow of twilight giving way to the heavy shadows of night. Most of the estate was in ruins—boarded windows, weeds choking the cracked concrete—but one building stood out. It was sleek and grey, surrounded by barbed wire and floodlights. A security camera swivelled to track him as he approached the steel door.
Before he could knock, the door swung open. A man in a black suit emerged, tall and unnaturally thin, his pale face stretched into a tight smile that seemed more like a warning than a welcome.
“You must be Mr Adams,” the man said, his voice low and clipped, like a scalpel slicing through the air.
“Yeah,” Evan replied, uneasy under the man’s gaze. “You’re Mr Thompson?”
“Indeed.” Thompson’s eyes flicked over him like he was inspecting a tool. “Follow me.”
The inside of the building was colder than it should have been, the air stale and metallic. The corridors were dimly lit, the walls bare except for the occasional steel door. A faint hum echoed through the space, but otherwise, it was silent.
“What’s the job, exactly?” Evan asked, trying to sound casual.
“Artefact preservation,” Thompson replied without turning. “You are here to ensure nothing... interferes with the collection.”
Evan frowned. “Interferes how? What kind of artefacts are we talking about?”
Thompson stopped abruptly, spinning on his heel to face him. His smile was gone, replaced by an icy glare. “Your job is not to ask questions, Mr Adams. Your job is to follow the rules.”
They reached a small office, and Thompson handed him a laminated sheet of paper. The rules were brief but strange:
- Stay on the designated patrol route.
- Do not touch any objects.
- If you hear whispers, ignore them.
- Do not, under any circumstances, look into the mirror in Corridor B.
Thompson’s hand slammed onto the desk, making Evan flinch. “Do not test me,” he hissed. “The artefacts are not trinkets. They are dangerous. Follow the rules, or you will not leave this place alive.”
Evan nodded quickly, his stomach knotting. “Got it. Patrol, no touching, no mirrors.”
Thompson’s cold smile returned. “Good. Your shift begins now.”
The mirror in Corridor B was the worst. Its blackened frame seemed to writhe under the light, and the glass rippled like water. Evan kept his head down as he passed, the rule etched into his mind.
By the third night, things had changed. The whispers began—soft at first, like wind through the cracks of an old house. But soon, they grew louder, forming words he couldn’t quite understand. The doll’s case rattled as he passed, and the locket seemed to hum faintly.
On the fifth night, the locket called to him. It hung on a delicate chain, its surface etched with shifting symbols that seemed alive. He knew he shouldn’t, but something in his chest pulled him closer. His fingers brushed the glass, then the latch.
The moment he touched the locket, a searing pain shot through his body, and his vision went black. He collapsed, gasping, as images flooded his mind: blood, shadows, and screaming faces. He saw Tiverton in ruins, its streets choked with smoke and fire, its people twisting into grotesque shapes.
When he came to, the whispers were no longer faint. They were inside him, loud and commanding. The locket pulsed against his chest, its energy surging through his veins.
By the time Thompson arrived, the building was alive with chaos. “What have you done?” he shouted, his composed mask cracking as he stared at the freed artefacts.
Evan turned to face him, his eyes glowing faintly. “They were tired of waiting.”
The shadows consumed Thompson before he could react, dragging him screaming into the mirror’s jagged remains. The entities poured out of the building, their darkness spreading like a disease. Tiverton was their first victim. Homes were left empty, streets deserted. The few survivors spoke of a figure in the dark—a man with glowing eyes, delivering cursed objects to doorsteps.
Evan was no longer human. He was a vessel, a harbinger of the curse. And Tiverton was only the beginning.
